Further Implications of the Replica Program

Posted

Ah, blatant theorizing. How fun...

Anyways, there have been significant discrepancies and mysteries regarding the full nature of the Replica Program, implications which may very well play a large role in 3D and beyond.

The most significant clue of this, to be sure, lies in one of the Secret Reports out of 358/2 Days.

The Program is largely on target. No. i' date=' my finest Replica, has proven an even greater success than anticipated. I intend to take the other vessel - judged unfit for number status - to Castle Oblivion, where I will subject it to further testing. One thing is clear: could these Replicas not be classified as a special sort of Nobody? [/i']

The other vessel? Interesting. We know that this cannot be referring to Repliku, as he was created within the confines of CO, not brought in with Vexen. The question remains of who, exactly, this "no.ii" is.

Of nearly equal potential importance is where, exactly, Repliku's heart went.

We have seen in numerous 3D trailers that Xion still exists in some form, inside Sora (or something to that respect)

Could it have embedded itself within Riku? Or, perhaps, it found its way to another part of the castle, to a dormant Journal, thus setting up Re:Coded.

Beyond these three mentioned replicas, it is reasonable to say that there were many other replicas. The magnas go so far as to show Vexen with multiple replicas of himself. (Though, I don't exactly consider the magna canon, personally.) Xion, as we know, was labeled "no.i". How then, would she have been made to the level of perfection we have seen, if she was the first? Surely, there were more, inferior replicas created prior to the Organization going "all in" with Xion. Perhaps these replicas, too, had fully functioning hearts. More likely, though, is that they would be, theoretically, incomplete or broken. Replicas have issues with knowing that they are fakes, as we have seen from both Xion and Repliku. (Possible enemy for Sora's inevitable foray into CO? I like to think so.) Still, the point remains that they may exist, and may play into future games.

Vexen was one of the traitors aligned with Marluxia. That much is clear. If he was in support of an overthrow of the Orgainization, wouldn't he utilize his epic army-building abilities?

Anyways, theorizing over. Thanks for reading, and feel free to rip this all apart with your unforgiving claws of dispute. It is just theory, in the end.

I can't find any flaws with your theory. In fact I think it's very likely and might actually explain a few things that were in the trailers for KH3D!

I actually thought of this too. Not much was said about how far the Organization was in the program other then creating,

Replku and Xion.

Also the journal did state that there were others, and given Vexen who knows if he created on last

creation before his untimely death by Axel. There are still things not fully revealed about the program that we just dont

fully know yet.

But im putting this in one of the possibilitys

The 'i' in "no. i" does not reffer to 1 or 1st. The i stands for imaginary number. There is no proof Xion was the first.

Vexen was not plotting alongside Marluxia; they hated each other. He was actually going to betray Marluxia by telling Sora the plan.

I also think that the one he said was "unfit for number status" was talking about Repliku. He said he did further testing on it; the thing abotu replicas are that they are pretty much blank slates until they are filled with memories, and then they take a different form. Ie, Xion at first didn't have a face, then the important memories of Kairi made her resemble Kairi. Riku replica was made directly with copied memories from Riku, so I think this might be what accounts for the difference between him and Xion; Sora's original memories were actually powerful enough to give Xion her own feelings is what my theory is, though of course it is possible that Riku Replica is just as able to come back. Xion had more of her own experiences/memories behind her that made her how she is though, and of course she was the "finest" replica Vexen had made. Apparently he made Xion a little too well.

There is a scene where Riku comes face to face in the trailes with another young Riku, this one with long hair like he did before; it's possible that this is Riku Replica. I assumed that the other replicas were destroyed upon not being as good as Xion, and I think it was more that he planned to make more like Xion, but was sort of halted when he was killed. Notice that in KH2 Final Mix you can battle replica data of the other members; no doubt there was going to be an organization army or something like that once he perfected them.

I'm not sure that they'd go for creating more replica sob stories.

And if anyone's played/read Star Wars: Force Unleashed II, I thought of Xion the whole time.
