    I voted for previews, but I think that it's more of a tie between that and actually trying the game first. Of course, KH and FFVII/XIII games don't count in this--I'll buy the next game in the series (and its respective console/handheld) no matter what (though I didn't initially get into the first KH or FFVII until I tried them).

    usually what i see on an ad is what gets me and i think "huh that looks like a fun game maybe I should get it" thats what really gets me to buy a game is the ad and of course if im a little iffy like i might want the game but i don't know if i will like it or not i wait untill its out read some reviewers review and watch some gameplay then i usually deside

    If I'm really interested in a game, I'd try everything to find out how it's like. Gamer reviews or reviews at my favorite game news site (Gamesradar.com), previews, trailers, betas/demos (if there are any and i'm able to get into the beta). Or if I'm just so curious about it and see a bit of previews but the story so far catches my eye, I'll probably buy it. That's what happened with The World Ends With You. I liked the vibe of it and bought it. Best money I've ever spent on a DS game!
