Just need some advice about where I should go with my drawing(s). I wanted to make somewhat of a rouge-keyblade wielder, I made a little background story in my mind but that's for later. Right now I'm drawing the individual parts (clothes, keyblade, etc) so I have a basis for my drawing. I'm somewhat of an adequate/amateur though my drawings and sketches have evolved over time but what I was wondering is if I should leave my drawings as black & white sketches or if I should add color (if yes to color what medium i.e. crayon, colored pencil, marker etc.). Just wanna find out what'll look best for my drawings but I'll have pics up later this week when I finish.

References for my drawings (so it doesn't seem like it came out of nowhere):

As a personal preference, I leave all my drawings black and white without shading if I do not have the proper tools to color or shade it.

If I have my prisma color graphite pencil, I usually outline my sketch and shade.

As for colors, I don't like to color unless I have prisma colors at hand.

I firetrucking love prisma colors.

But any other color pencils are fine (other than generic brands, go to your arts and crafts store and look around there for something that's not crayola). Be sure to use white to blend.

I don't have experience with markers, but definitely don't use crayons lol

Yeah, I'll have to go with Koko. Unless you find some colored pencils (don't ever use markers or crayons unless it's your style) that you like, I'd suggest against coloring, or even shading. Always finish the drawing, and then go back and decided if it would look better with color.

i like to do all my art work with just pencil (red and blue when im animating) and then if i want to color it i scan it on my comp to do so

I'd wait until you're confident with how your drawings come out until you try anything.

I never used colors until recently. I, personally, like using colored pencils because of how easy it is to blend colors.

Crayons? no... unless you reeeally think you could pull it off...

Copic markers are really nice (but expensive) and if I had some I'd probably use them over colored pencils.

Important thing to consider if you're going to color a sketch with colored pencils: try outlining it in black marker first. If I ever tried coloring something I drew in pencil the colors got dirty from the graphite. I got an inking set a couple months ago and it made coloring a lot easier.

Or if you do go with black and white, you should try shading with a tortillion. I'd stay with shading for a little bit before moving on to coloring, though.

Idk why I said crayons, I don't use them anyways. I have prisma color graphite sticks but they took a beating so I'll probably get new ones. Thanks for all the feedback hopefully I'll have time to draw out everything (damn school -.-").
