The video I posted above is the scene before Sora battles Xemnas. In it Braig and Xemnas say that the Nobodies of Organization XIII were growing new hearts. So I was thinking that, possibly, Ventus may be doing the same thing.

 

Also, this would explain a lot about the nature of a heartless and a nobody. If a nobody which is a soul and the body can grow a heart can a heartless grow a body? This could explain Ansem SoD and Sora (after he became a heartless and Roxas was created) who both clearly had bodies while their nobody exists alongside them. This could also be how Terra makes his comeback. If the good guys could free Terra's heart maybe it could spawn its own body.

 

Only problem is if this is true why wouldn't MX just do this to make his new Organization rather than take the time to corrupt other bodies. My thought is because he is splitting his heart into so many different pieces he needs to find a host until each piece can become it's own fully formed heart.

 

This would also explain how Roxas could come back as on of the 7 lights, because he has formed his own heart and become a light himself. If the same is true about Xion, and Ventus's heart is also in Sora, that brings the total count of hearts inside Sora that aren't his own to 3... must be crowded!

Slightly possible, but I doubt it. vents wasn't a Nobody, he was a complete being whose Jett lie elsewhere, in rest. His heart wasn't lost to Darkness, it simply transferred to Sor through their connection. Until now though, he couldn't find his way back. He was trapped within Sora's heart until, spoilers, it seems like Sora was able to release it by the end of 3D.

We see when Sora falls to darkness, Vens heart follows him to give his armor for Sora to protection against darkness. However, heart itself doesnt follow him.

In ending we can see Ventus in CO and he starts smiling a bit. This hints that he must be awakening because his heart returned. Ventus just needs his heart, not Vanitas in order to wake up.

 

Ventus didn't lose his heart, it was shattered. Part of it was destroyed. Roxas counts as both Sora and Ventus's nobody in a way, and its where Ven's heart went. Its likely instead of regrowing a heart Roxas allowed Ven's heart to regenerate inside him, that's why in the beginning he was a 'zombie' like Ven when he first arrived at the Land of Departure but he soon became more human throughout Days. Its alluded to by YMX that Ven's heart is still within Sora but is almost ready to awaken seeing as how Sora is starting to experience Ven's memories and Ven helped Sora a bit towards the end. In KHIII we will likely see that heart return to Ven and in all probability Roxas will remain part of Sora. Although at this rate anything can happen...

I don't think Vanitas is all that loyal to MX. Remember, if you will, the scene where Ven and Mickey fight Vanitas. Vanitas clearly tries to kill Ven despite MX's orders not to. I could see Vanitas and the Unversed playing a role as a loose cannon and maybe a third party (the first being MX and the new Organization, the second being Maleficent and Pete) for Sora and the gang to fight in Kingdom Hearts III.
