It seems both Ventus and Terra are running away from something in Castle Oblivion.

 

This part Terra is running away from Darkness.

 

This part Ventus is running away from Light.

 

For Terra's part running away from Darkness is understandable. But I'm not sure why Ventus running away from Light maybe it will revealed in the BBS game or the "Erase me" comment. Or probably Ventus had a dark secret or past.

ventus don't loose his memories because he is in the basement and if you go up the castle oblivion you will loose your memories marluxia said that and namine just changes people memories

Since I've already seen the whole game, I'll explain briefly.

Terra, indeed is running from the darkness, but eventually catches him causing him to become... well, you'll find out soon enough.

And Ven, he is not running from the light, he is running from his fate, which is to become the X-blade, which you'll know what it is after you've played the game.

here is the special deal with castle oblivion, but don't read it if you dont want to ruin the story for you

 

 

 

if i remember correctly, after finishing off a weakened eraqus, MX (masterxehanort) drowned the land of departure in darkness or something, and nearly destroyed it,

aqua acquired master eraqus's keyblade, and activated a special keyhole of some sort of key hole (closed it, opened it, idk) which restored the castle, in a sense, transforming it into castle oblivion,

idk what is up with the cards though

 

 

 

also, all the scenes flashing one the wall are just events, nothing more, mickey being on the wall doesn't mean he will be in the basement of castle oblivion, and if you read my spoiler, there is another thing,

 

I dont know why, but I always see Xenmas when I look at Terra =

And maybe its not Light chasing Ven, what about Nothing?!

And maybe its not Darkness chasing Terra, maybe it's what take memories away, being castle oblivion and all..

in the end, xehanort takes hold of terra's body, and then becomes atw's (ansem the wise) apprentice, loses his heart, and a heartless and nobody are created in the process: ansem sod (seeker of darkness) and xemnas

 

 

it could be that Ven is running from the explosion that will make him and Vanitas

fuse to become the X-Blade
