Fairy Tail - X791 Arc (7 Years later time-skip)

Posted

This Anime/Manga takes place after seven years gap when their comrades missing for so long.....(for anyone knows this anime/manga,beware of the spoilers...)and now,i'm doing a synopsis about this story of Fairy Tail 7 years post time-skip:

Chapter 1 : Year X791 - Fairy Tail

In Hargeon Town, seven years after the destruction of Tenrou Island, Romeo Conbolt, now branded with the mark of Fairy Tail and wearing clothes similar to Natsu's, stares at the sea while Alzack Connell and his wife, Bisca, watches over him, telling him that they should return to the guild or Macao will worry. Romeo agrees and turns his back on the ocean. Bisca tries to cheer him up but Alzack shakes his head, stopping her.

Meanwhile in the town of Magnolia, inside a tavern bearing the mark of Fairy Tail, the new master, Macao, expresses his worry about his son. His advisor, Wakaba, tells him to calm down, reminding him that he is no longer a kid. The two then begins to argue since Wakaba refuses to address Macao as "master". Since the destruction of Tenrou Island and the disappearance of the most powerful Mages of the guild, Fairy Tail is reduced into a small guild with a few job offers and only a few of its former members remaining. One of which is Laki Olietta who is picking on the now overweight Droy. Jet tries to discourage him from eating, using Levy's name, but Droy tells him that Levy is not coming back. These words are heard throughout the guild and everyone's smiles immediately vanishes.

Suddenly, five men enter the guild and begin to belittle the Mages. The atmosphere immediately turns hostile with Macao reminding the group that they are not welcome in their guild. The leader, Teebo, smirks and reminds him that he is talking to members of the guild that now represents Magnolia, Twilight Ogre. Teebo then reminds the guild about their payment for the month. Macao tells the group that they haven't had any job offers to make money to pay for the debt but promises to pay the group next month. Teebo then kicks Macao, sending him a short distance away. Seeing their master being attacked, the members of the guild prepare to attack but Macao tells them to stop. The Fairy Tail members stop and are forced to watch as the Twilight Ogre guild members trash their guild. The group then leaves with Teebo reminding the guild about their payment for next month.

With the members of the rival guild gone, the Fairy Tail members see Reedus' sketchbook littered on the floor, with the pages torn off. Everyone sees the pictures of their missing comrades and begins to cry. The group then recalls their desperate attempts to find their comrades seven years ago and the downfall of Fairy Tail. Wakaba then notices Macao crying and tries to cheer him up by saying that he did a good job as master but Macao begins to shake, remembering that Romeo hasn't smiled for the last seven years.

Suddenly, the guild hears a sound and goes outside to check, only to see Blue Pegasus Guild's Magic Bomber - Christina. Ichiya then jumps off Christina and greets the members of Fairy Tail. The other members of the Trimens then follow and immediately begin to flirt with Laki but stops when Ichiya told them to. The group then reveals they had detected something in the Eternano Waters surrounding Tenrou Island. Ichiya then says that Tenrou Island still exists.

Chapter 50 : A Battle On Two Fronts

Natsu and his friends return to their lodgings to discuss what to do about Lucy's recent capture. Natsu, restrained to a pillar, yells how he should go rescue Lucy right away, but Wendy and Happy try to convince him otherwise; looking how his reckless actions could lead to Fairy Tail becoming enemies of the entire army.

Knowing that they can't head to save Lucy and make public enemies of themselves, Makarov begins to wonder why Lucy was captured. Gajeel, feeling uneasy about the whole event, asks why the rest of them weren't captured with Lucy. Pantherlily argues that they were perhaps needed as witnesses to be used against Arcadios but Carla asks if the empire would really risk leaking information to stop the Knight. Erza suggests that the empire may feel that hiding the secret of the Eclipse project to be useless now, with Gray agreeing seeing how to keep it a secret all of them would have to be captured. Mirajane also backs up their ideas looking how if they all were captured people would get suspicious of members of Team Fairy Tail not being present on the last day of the Grand Magic Games. They then come to the conclusion that Lucy's capture, being unfortunate as it is for them all, does not interfere with the empire's justice system.

Natsu then breaks free of the ropes, tired of all the talking and angrily tries to leave the lodge to try save Lucy but is quickly stopped by Makarov as he smashes the Dragon Slayer into the ground. He tells Natsu that they all feel the same about Lucy being taken away like that but looking at their opposition he tells Natsu that they need to be more careful with their actions in the future. Nonetheless Makarov tells Natsu that they won't stand down and do nothing like cowards.

Meanwhile in the prison of Mercurius, Lucy and Yukino are locked in their cells. Yukino begins to become depressed believing she has only brought misfortune upon Lucy, but Lucy begins to comfort and tells her not to be depressed and that they need to think of a way to escape. A little bit surprised over Lucy's concern, Yukino tells her they need to get her keys back first. Yukino then apologizes knowing that if she didn't show her the Eclipse they wouldn't be in that position but again, Lucy tries to make Yukino fell better telling her that it wasn't her fault as they were just sucked up into the plan and how it is just about whether or not the empire should go through with the Eclipse Plan.

Yukino then tells Lucy that the plan should happen. Shocked by this, Lucy listens to Yukino reason as she begins to tell her about her past as a child when she lived with her older sister, Sorano and the rest of her family. She tells Lucy how she was scolded by her parents a lot and how her sister would stick up for her when this did happen. This changed when and group that worshiped Zeref killed her parents and kidnapped Sorano. Yukino then tells Lucy, as tears begin to fall from her eyes, that she is uncertain even if her sister survived her capture but if they were able to go through with the Eclipse Plan the event never would have occurred. Lucy then thinks over what she was just told, feeling sorry for Yukino yet worries about what would happen to the present if the Eclipse Plan was carried out.

The next day then begins with the final day of the Grand Magic Games. Fireworks fill the sky as the arena erupts with the sound of cheering fans rooting for their favorite teams. Chapati then introduces the judges with the usual line up of himself and Yajima and the new guest judge Mato, the events mascot. Now with their introductions out of the way, the teams begin to enter the Domus Flau.

First to enter and overall sixth place in the Grand Magic Games comes Team Quatro Puppy. They are then followed by Team Blue Pegasus who made the change to their team setup by removing Nichiya and bringing back Eve Tearm after recovering from his injuries given to him by Rufus of Sabertooth. Next to enter is Team Lamia Scale followed by Team Mermaid Heel. Second last to enter are former victors and current second place, Team Sabertooth.

The crowd begins to converse among one another about the team as Chapati comments on how the vibe the team were giving of the last couple of days had changed with Yajima wondering if they had regained their spirits. Three members of the crowd then notice Frosch alone on the edge of the stand, wondering what happen to Lector and down in the arena, Sting thinks of his lost friend a remembers how he used to cheer him on and with a smile on his vows that he won't lose again.

Now with all the other teams having entered the arena the crowd begins to cheer for the final team to enter. Suddenly those cheers turn into sounds of confusion as Team Fairy Tail enters with Juvia replacing Natsu bringing disappointment and confusion to the crowd and competitors alike, yet some joy is taken out of this incident by some of the Mages like Lyon, getting to see Juvia again, and Sting, seeing that the absence of Natsu as a sign of luck.

Looking down on the arena, Datong expects Natsu's absence being due to being unable to recover from his Magic being absorbed by the Eclipse. In the crowd the rest of the Fairy Tail members cheer for their team hoping for each member to do their best as Mavis asks if Makarov has thought his plan through. Makarov tells Mavis how it was the only option to send Natsu, Mirajane, Wendy, Happy, Carla and Pantherlily to save Lucy as their chances of winning the Grand Magic Games is uncertain. Now under the cover of the Grand Magic Games Natsu and the rest of his group set out to save Lucy.

Chapter 51 : Grand Magic Game

Natsu and the rest of the rescue team continue with their mission to save Lucy. With fight for that last fight about to begin Wendy begins to wonder how they would enter Mercurius. Happy then suggests his idea which Carla quickly predicts that it would be something idiotic with Pantherlily agreeing. They go through with Happy's plan and change into their disguises. Luckily, Mirajane tells the group that she has thought of a plan of her own to get into the palace much too Natsu's delight. With the plan under way Wendy looks up to the Domus Flau and wishes Team Fairy Tail the best with their fight.

In the Domus Flau the final fight is announced, to the massive uproar of the crowd, with the teams competing in a survival game. Chapati informs the crowd of the rules of the fight. It would take place in Crocus and each team would be run around the city searching for the opposition, when the enemies meet, the battle would start with it ending when one of the Mages are unable to fight. The team left standing would gain one point. Another rule is that each team would have to pick a leader from who only their own team would know who that leader is but if these leaders are defeated, the team that defeated that leader would gain five points for their team and with the max amount of points to be won being 45 everything is still to play for.

Erza takes some time to talk with her team, telling them that they have to win for Lucy's sake. Juvia and Gajeel state that if Natsu and the rest are able to save Lucy it would be the best outcome but Gray and Laxus tell their team that they still have to make up for the last 7 years. And with that said, the survival game begins with Fairy Tail full of determination.

The crowd’s cheer fills the Domus Flau as each team sets out to the fight with most teams separating from one another, as Yajima expected. Suddenly Rufus notices something off about the fight. From the rooftops, Orga asks his teammate what the problem is as Rufus tells him that Team Fairy Tail isn't moving, shocking the crowd and announcers with this unusual act. The other members of Fairy Tail yell at them in attempt to get their team to fight except from Mavis who sits among the guild with a vacant expression.

Back in the city, Yuka and Toby find Nobarly and go for a quick point with Yuka sealing Nobarly's magic and Toby going in to attack. Hibiki,Eve and Ren take out Beth and Arania for 2 points while Team Fairy Tail still does nothing as the points change. In a different part of the city, Lyon and Jura take out Semmes and Yaeger of Team Quatro Puppy. Ooba cheers for her strongest Mage on as the crowd wonder how anybody would overcome the Wizard Saint. Yuka and Toby continue searching through town complimenting the strength of their peers while they go until they are cut off by Bacchus. They prepare to fight but suddenly a white light appears from the sky and before Bacchus could react, Sting smashes the S-Class Mage into the ground, breaking the pavement and earning Team Sabertooth 5 points with the defeat of Quatro Puppy's leader. The crowd cheers for the White Dragon Slayer yet little joy is taken out of this victory for Sting. With Sabertooth in first place Yuka and Toby get ready to take on Sting, while Makarov screams in horror over the loss of the top spot. Suddenly, Kagura comes out of nowhere and takes out Toby and Yuka but before she could fight Sting, he disappears. Minerva states how it would be wise for her team to avoid Jura and Kagura due to their strength while in another part of the city Millianna takes out the last Quatro Puppy member, Rocker.

With Team Mermaid Heel and Team Lamia Scale doing their best, the points begin to move rapidly, yet Fairy Tail still doesn’t move. Makarov, confused over these strange actions, begins to question them looking at what is at stake. Mavis then tells him that they need to keep calm because of the situation Lucy is in and then tells the sixth master how throughout the Grand Magic Games she has been memorizing each of the battles and the abilities of each Mage participating. She then tells them how through countless simulations she has developed at strategy which she was sending to Team Fairy Tail shocking even Makarov. She then sets the strategy of The Fairy of the Stars in to motion as Team Fairy Tail make their move.

Meanwhile at the place, a guard takes a captured Natsu and Wendy to Mercurius. The guards at the gate ask who they are, to which the guard replies they were trying to rescue Lucy. The guards tell him to throw them in a cell so the guard begins to head into the palace with Natsu and Wendy but one guard points him to where the cells actually are. When inside, the guard turns out to be Mirajane using her Transformation Magic to sneak the rescue team into the palace and with compliments for Mirajane's plan out of the way they continue their plan. Meanwhile in a separate part of Mercurius, a guard walks into the room of Princess Hisui E. Fiore. The guard tells her that the current timing is her best chance to go through with her plan to which she agrees and gets ready to start the Eclipse 2 Project.

Chapter 52 : Fairy Tactician

As Team Fairy Tail finally starts to make their move, Mavis starts spouting out her strategy to the other Fairy Tail members. Rufus uses Memory-Make: A Night of Falling Stars, but all of Team Fairy Tail are able to dodge or guard the attack, due to Mavis' thinking. Mavis continues saying her strategy, as Erza runs into Jenny Realight in the exact spot Mavis had predicted. Erza quickly defeats her with a single slash. Gajeel also earns Team Fairy Tail two points after following Mavis' prediction, as he defeats Eve and Ren. Gray finishes off another Team Blue Pegasus member by defeating Hibiki. With this, Fairy Tail jumps into a tie with Team Sabertooth. Mavis continues saying her complex strategy, which reminds Makarov of The First's nickname, The Fairy Tactician. Ichiya is the last of his team to remain, but he is easily beaten by Jura. At the same time Chelia defeats Risley. With this, Team Blue Pegasus are out, and Lamia Scale makes it a three-way tie. Mavis is asked by Kinana and Laki what she planned to do about Jura. Mavis tells them she was unable to think of a plan, as he is that powerful.

Meanwhile, within Mercurius, Natsu and co. break Lucy and Yukino out of jail. Lucy is given new clothes as she plots how to get her keys back. Before they can act though, the floor beneath them opens as everyone falls into an underground trap. An image of Hisui E. Fiore appears, as she tells the Fairy Tail members they are in "a capital of death" that no criminal has ever escaped. She tells them all to rot there for sneaking into the palace. The guards next to her cheer her on, but Hisui still looks down saddened.

Back at the competition, Gray walks into the building Mavis predicted Rufus Lohr would be. Rufus sits in a chair, and claims he has forgotten about Gray, and asks if he can help him remember. Gray says not to bother, as he'll finish him right now.

Chapter 53 : Gray vs. Rufus

With the battle between Gray and Rufus about to commence, Romeo asks Mavis if she predicted the meeting between the two Make-Mages to which she replies that she did. Hearing the news Warren and others think that Gray would be a clear winner with Mavis' calculations but unfortunately for Fairy Tail, Mavis conforms that the victor of this battle was still uncertain but that was vital that Gray wins as she tell them how Rufus is a key member for Sabertooth's strategy. She remembers back to when she told Team Fairy Tail about how Rufus needed to be taken out as soon as possible and how Gray demanded that he should be the one to battle Rufus for Lucy's and the guild's sake. Now with the battle about to begin, Mavis asks Gray to show her the power of his emotions that would overcome Sabertooth’s Memory-Make Mage.

Back in the library area of Crocus, Gray begins his attack with Ice-Make: Freeze Lancer. Rufus leaps out of the way while the ice rips and smashes trough the floor and furniture, memorizing Gray's attacks while he goes. Gray, still on the offensive, tries to attack Rufus again to no avail as Rufus dodges Gray second attack while the massive ice-hammer crashes into the floor. Gray asks what Rufus has been muttering through their fight to which he explains that his memories can be used as a weapon using his memories as a base for new types of magic. Gray, confused over what he just heard, asks what Rufus meant about what he just explained. Rufus then tells Gray that from him he remembers Ice Magic and from Orga, Lightning Magic and proceeds to attack Gray with his Memory-Make: Sword of Frozen Black Lightning, sending a mass of black lightning and Ice at the Ice-Make Mage. From the Domus Flau, Jet and Droy watch in shock of how Rufus was able to make his own spells and worry for Gray's well being.

Rufus attacks again with his Memory-Make: Shrine of Turbulent Fang, conjuring up miniature cyclones and sending them towards Gray. Gray tries using Ice-Make: Shield to defend himself against the attack but Rufus causes the shield to disappear by memorizing Gray's shield and then forgetting. With no defense against Rufus' attack, Gray is hurled into the air while his fellow members and crowd watch in shock of Rufus' magic while Rufus gloats about his power. Gray then strips off his top, much to the surprise of the crowd, Chapati and Juvia, and tells Rufus how that since he's been in Fairy Tail, he hasn't lost to the same opponent twice to which Rufus smugly asks what he plans to do then.

Gray prepares one of his spells and Rufus gets ready to memorize the attack but then Rufus realizes that what Gray prepared was no ordinary spell. Gray then begins shaping a large amount of blades at an incredible speed shocking even Rufus with his skill. Once finished, Gray asks Rufus if he was able to memorize his spell or not but because of the speed, Rufus was unable frightened by this outcome. Gray then uses his Ice-Make Unlimited: One Sided Chaotic Dance encasing Rufus in ice from the waist down. Rufus then breaks free from the ice after taking Grays attack use the flames from his Memory-Make: Karma of the Burning Land and attacks Gray with the same flames. Suddenly Gray forces his way through the flames telling Rufus that he's faced stronger flames and then attacks Rufus with Ice-Make: Ice Bringer. Rufus then falls to the ground after taking Gray's attack, much to the relief of Mavis and adoration of Juvia, and as Gray catches Rufus' hat from the air, Chapati announces Gray to be victorious.

Chapter 54 : Garou Knights

With Gray having defeated Rufus, Fairy Tail revels in his victory, which leaves them as the only team with all five of their members still in the game. The members of Sabertooth express shock at Rufus' defeat, with Rogue acknowledging them as strong but stating that he wants to defeat Gajeel. Minerva wonders to herself whether Sabertooth is going to lose or if Sting can do something about it.

Elsewhere, Sting sits alone thinking about Lector. Remembering the day he defeated Jiemma, Sting recalls how Minerva told him that he was suitable to become the guild master now that he had unlocked the power of feelings, which Natsu possessed and used to defeat him. Stating that Lector was alive in another dimension thanks to her, Minerva promised Sting she'd bring him back but only if he won the Grand Magic Games and Sabertooth was show to be the strongest in front of everyone. With his resolve, Sting states his intentions to win at all costs.

In Abyss Palace, the Exceed attempt to find an exit with no luck, with Pantherlily stating he should've drawn a map. As Lucy asks Natsu about the tournament, he states that Juvia went in his place with Happy teasing him about it. Meanwhile, Mirajane expresses her opinion on how Yukino looks like Lisanna, a resemblance Lucy notices just as Carla comes by and reveals her discovery a passage nearby which can be used. The Mages squeeze through the narrow exit one by one. Wendy exits first and notices a battered figure in the distance, Arcadios.

As the Mages rush to his side and ask the knight what happened to him, he weakly tells them to get out of the way as a large shadow approaches them from behind and attacks, with the Mages narrowly dodging. Lucy and Pantherlily discover a trail of acid on the ground as another figure approaches as well, raising a flag from the ground and knocking the Mages into the air. Natsu questions who they are as nearby, a plant starts growing, from which a person emerges as two more figures enter the fray. Arcadios recognizes the people as members of an independent unit supporting the kingdom, the Garou Knights. As Arcadios explains that they're the reason Abyss Palace is inescapable, the Knights initiate their attack.

Chapter 55 : Fairy Tail vs. The Executioners

The Garou Knights stand in the way of Natsu and his friends escape, and, despite the situation, Natsu bursts out in laughter due to the un-knightly appearances of the executioners, but an injured Arcadios warns him not to take the group lightly due to their Magic’s purpose being to kill their victims efficiently. Natsu confidently replies that it is fine, as he believes that the knights will be the answer as to how they can escape the Abyss Palace, and gets ready to fight with Mirajane, Wendy and Pantherlily at his side. Arcadios lies shocked at their resolve and the armored knight scoffs at Natsu's bold words as the knights begin to fight.

Two of the group, Kamika and Cosmos, proceed to attack the Fairy Tail Mages, with Kamika using her Paper Blizzard: Red Dance. Natsu tries using his Magic to stop her attack but the slips of paper force their way through his flame with ease, much to the surprise of the Dragon Slayer. Fortunately, Wendy stops Kamika's paper with her Sky Dragon's Roar, causing the paper slips to scatter, however, Cosmos summons a giant flytrap-like plant to engulf Wendy, who is then saved by Mirajane using her Satan Soul: Sitri to rip the plant to pieces with one mighty sweep of her arm. Natsu then notices jagged vines coming for Lucy and Yukino from behind and dives on top of them to protect the two girls while Pantherlily cuts the vines to pieces with his sword. Suddenly, the largest of the knights tries to attack Pantherlily from behind, the latter just dodges the attack as the acid melts the ground. Kamika then uses Paper Blizzard: Violet Dance, covering the Fairy Tail Mages in slips of paper and making them unable to move, while Cosmos summons a gigantic flower to swallow them whole. As they are sucked into the air, Wendy releases her friends from Kamika's Magic, allowing Mirajane, Pantherlily and Natsu to destroy the flower with a massive burst of flames.

Meanwhile in Mercurius, Hisui E. Fiore listens to the guards talk about how the Garou Knights have headed out to execute the criminals, causing the Princess to become even more upset as her plans backfire. She then begins to worry for Arcadios' safety, hoping he will make it through in one piece. Back in the Abyss Palace, Natsu rises from the rubble created by the last attack and finds himself alone in the caves. He begins to call out for the others, only to find the armored knight, who tells him that the shock wave from their battle has separated both groups, also guaranteeing Natsu that his friends will not return alive, while Natsu becomes frustrated over the fact that he has lost Lucy again. In the other parts of the Abyss Palace, Natsu's friends, while searching for each other, come across the same fate, with Wendy finding Cosmos, Pantherlily meeting the largest of the knights, and Mirajane being found by Kamika.

On the other side of the rubble, Lucy, Yukino, Carla, Happy and Arcadios find each other together, worrying about their current position, as each of them are currently unable to defend themselves. Happy suggest searching for the others, only to start levitating, much to his dismay. It is then revealed that the last knight is the cause of Happy’s levitation, believing he has caught a fish. Happy then yells at the knight, asking if he looks like a fish. The knight, realizing this, proceeds to slam Happy face first into a pillar, disappointed. Carla then wonders what is up with the knight as he reveals his name to be Uosuke. Lucy comments, sarcastically, on how pretty the name is as an angry Happy asks if they are going to lose to Uosuke, seeing his Magic as more of a joke than a threat, something which annoys Uosuke, even though his face doesn't show it. Lucy and Yukino then get ready to fight Uosuke without their keys, confidant in their chances of victory; that confidence soon fades as Arcadios tells them not to underestimate Uosuke, evidence of the man's previous fights showing that the only thing left of his victims have been their bones. Yukino and Lucy are left shocked at Arcadios' words while the enraged Uosuke approaches.

Chapter 56 : The Burning Earth

One of the Garou Knights stands in front of Natsu telling him to repent for his sins, but Natsu declares he has done nothing wrong. Back at the Domus Flau, Makarov has a strange feeling that he may have to write apology letters in the near future. Lisanna wonders if Natsu and the others are okay, and Makarov urges everyone to believe in them. Back in the dungeon, Natsu begins his battle against the Garou Knight, who continuously swings his two scythes at Natsu, only aiming for his neck.

Elsewhere, Pantherlily struggles to fight another knight who is using liquid acid to fight. Pantherlily finds it hard to defend, as he only has a sword. Mirajane also struggles fighting Kamika, as she is poisoned by the enemy's Paper Magic. In Wendy's fight, Cosmos uses Makura Kamura in an attempt to make Wendy fall asleep.

In Lucy and Yukino's battle, Uosuke uses Terrain Effect Magic to turn the ground into lava. Yukino and Lucy end up dangling above lava as the earth collapses below them. Carla and Happy try to help, but are forced to the ground by another Terrain Effect spell. Arcadios encourages the two Celestial Spirit Mages to hang on and to not let go, as they are the only hope of the Eclipse Plan. He stands up and runs through the lava to give Lucy and Yukino leverage to climb back up. As Arcadios consumed by lava, he tells the two girls that if they get out they should find princess Hisui, and also advises them to decide for themselves whether the Eclipse Plan is truly the right thing to do or not. After the two get back up, it seems Arcadios' body has been completely burned by the lava, until Horologium appears with him inside the Celestial Spirit. Lucy is confused as to how her spirits came, but soon Loke appears and explains that all her spirits can freely pass through the gates and that all her "stars" are with her. Loke then gives Lucy and Yukino back their keys, and with all 12 of the golden keys reunited, Lucy's group prepares to fight back.

In Natsu's fight, Natsu grabs one of the scythes and breaks it, asking if it is alright if he now sends his opponent flying, as he prepares to counter attack as well.

Chapter 57 : The Country We're In

With Loke arriving with their keys, Lucy and Yukino begin their counterattack with Yukino summoning Pisces, revealing the true form of the Celestial Spirits as mother and child, a form that they only assume when things are serious. As the duo charges, Uosuke tries to hinder their movements with his Magic to no avail due to Yukino summoning Libra who negates his Magic. Pisces' attacks connect and an angered Uosuke uses his Magic to flood the battle field, causing Pisces to revert to their fish form due to their weakness of water. Lucy, however, sees the opportunity to use the field to their advantage and summons Aquarius.

Meanwhile, Pantherlily continues to battle one of the members of the Garou Knights who is giving the Exceed some trouble with his Acid Magic. Pantherlily, however, is unfazed by his opponent and, remembering his training days with Gajeel, manages to cut through his spells. Elsewhere, Wendy casts Raise on herself to negate Cosmos' poison and summons the power of the sky to aid her in battle. Meanwhile, Mirajane is facing off against Kamika. As she suffer from the effect of Kamika's poison, Mirajane reveals that she holds herself back when in the presence of her comrades as it makes her a walking contradiction but states that she is able to unleash her full fury when she is alone. With that, she takes over Satan Soul who grows stronger in the presence of poison.

Elsewhere, Natsu continues to attack the leader of the Garou Knights who questions him if he intends to make an enemy out of the Kingdom of Fiore. A furious Natsu attacks him while stating that, if it is for his friends and family, he would make anyone his enemy. Elsewhere, everyone else defeats their respective enemies, all of whom smashes through the walls, reuniting the group of Fairy Tail Mages. The Fairy Tail Mages approach the defeated forms of their opponents and Natsu asks them to show them the exit.

Chapter 58 : The Country,Until Tomorrow

Meanwhile, in Abyss Palace, Natsu and the rest of the rescue team search for a way out after having beaten the Garou Knights. Mirajane asks Loke how he arrived, to which he explains that he simply jumped down. Noting the case of how Arcadios survived being in the lava, Loke suggests that it was his jade amulet which protected him as it can act as a talisman, causing Wendy to remember the Jade Dragon. Yukino also notes that the princess is named Hisui which means jade as well, with Lucy and Carla adding that they need to meet her and decide for themselves if Eclipse is right or not. As Natsu gets angry over the princess being the one who threw them in Abyss Palace, the door in front opens and Natsu rolls on the floor towards it, coming close to a person wearing a hood. Looking up, Natsu asks who they are.

Inside the palace, Princess Hisui is informed that the Garou Knights were defeated by Fairy Tail, much to her hidden relief. Suddenly, Datong shows up, telling her not to carry such an expression. Startled, Hisui asks why he isn't at the Domus Flau, to which he says he returned because he felt there was trouble. As she questions why Arcadios was sent to Abyss Palace without a trial, Datong states he knows she used Fairy Tail to rescue him. Datong reveals he now knows Hisui was behind the Eclipse project and Arcadios took the fall for her. Telling her she should not proceed with her plan as it's too dangerous to change the world, Hisui counters him, stating that the world should be changed. Revealing that Eclipse has a phase 2; the real project, she proceeds to explain, stating without it, the country will be destroyed as soon as the next day comes in.

Back at the Domus Flau, Fairy Tail takes the lead after Gray's victory over Rufus, with Sabertooth and Lamia Scale close behind. As the team proceeds, Juvia is found by Chelia, just as Mavis predicted. Viewing Juvia as Lyon's beloved, Chelia attacks the water Mage while in the audience, the other Fairy Tail members wonder how Juvia can win if Chelia can heal herself. Mavis reveals it doesn't matter much as she can hold her off. Elsewhere, Erza heads to another area, expecting to fight Minerva but much to her surprise, encounters Kagura instead, causing her to wonder how Mavis got it wrong as the two clash and begins to cry.

While Mavis begins tearing up over her failed prediction, the two Mages fight, eager to see the power of the other. During the battle, Erza notes Kagura's power even with her sword sheathed. Suddenly, a wormhole opens between the two and hands reach out, covering their faces. Minerva materializes through the wormhole and attacks the two, wanting to join the battle, much to the surprise of everyone. While Mavis wonders how her prediction came wrong, the foremost female Mages in the tournament prepare for a three way battle.

Chapter 59 : Threesomes

With Minerva's arrival, the battle between Erza and Kagura turns into a three-way. In the stands, the various guild members remain assured of their comrades victory. Erza declares that she will not hold back. At the same time, Kagura wonders why Erza, given her history in the Tower of Heaven, is covering for Jellal. Minerva tells the two women that due to their guilds, people have started looking down on Sabertooth, stating that she will get rid of them. As Erza notes her confident tone, Kagura suggests they end their talk and begin fighting, as the three Mages clash, creating an explosion of Magic.

Erza simultaneously attacks Minerva and Kagura, who block her slashes. Minerva uses her Magic to push Erza back but is subsequently kicked in the back of the head by Kagura. Erza recovers from the push and delivers a kick to Kagura's face, sending her crashing through a wall. Minerva appears and attacks Kagura at point-blank range. As she's nearly attacked from behind by Erza, she claims she can still see her, only to be attacked by Kagura, who is subsequently attacked by Erza. Using her Magic, Minerva takes hold of Erza and Kagura and uses Yakuma's Spell of the Eighteen Gods of Battle, creating a large explosion in the area and surprising all the onlookers. However, to everyone's surprise, Erza and Kagura remain standing. Minerva notes them to have exceeded her expectations and changes her strategy in response. Using her Magic, she teleports Millianna to the battle. In her current state, her Magic is being absorbed, but Millianna tells Erza and Kagura not to surrender despite this. As Kagura and Erza show anger at Minerva's actions, Minerva then smiles sinisterly at their rage.

Inside Mercurius, Datong, having heard Princess Hisui's explanation, suggests stopping the Grand Magic Games as the way to avert the crisis. However, Hisui doubts the words of the person who told her, though Datong notes the people of the country to still be in danger. Hisui says that person knows the future will be one guild winning with an unbelievable outcome and if they are right, they can be believed. Datong asks if this means the future depends on the outcome of the games and should it turn out as the person said, the future they spoke of is true, at which point Hisui states that she will open the Eclipse gate herself.

Meanwhile in Abyss Palace, Natsu confronts the hooded person, who begins crying. As she ask for their strength, the others take note of her voice. Subsequently, the person takes off her hood, revealing herself to be Lucy from the future.

Chapter 60 : Champion's Scenario

Shocked by the appearance of another Lucy, Natsu and his group immediately begin to question the "Lucy" standing in front of them, who shocks them all greatly by reminding them of the Eclipse Project and its ability to allow time travel, stating that she used the device to travel from the future. Before the others can question her further though, "future Lucy" collapses, worrying the group who decide that they can't leave her in the Abyss Palace and move to take her with them. Planning to get out of the castle and send up a flare to inform everyone else in Fairy Tail that they have Lucy, the group head out.

Concurrently, in the castle, Datong questions Hisui over the functioning of the Eclipse Plan, asking her why, when the twelve zodiac keys are required to operate the machine, she allowed both Lucy and Yukino to be sent to the Abyss Palace. Hisui however reveals that she has already used the keys she confiscated from the two to unlock the Eclipse door, and that the machine now merely requires human hands to be activated. This unnerves Datong, who still questions the morality of using the machine, and Hisui admits that she wishes to have both him and Arcadios by her side if the plan needs to go ahead, as she is uncertain of herself. Still awaiting the results of the Grand Magic Games, Hisui states that for now they can merely watch and wait.

Currently competing in the Games are Erza and Kagura, both of whom are enraged by the fact that Minerva (in an attempt to manipulate them) has captured and is harming Millianna, whom she has held in her Magic. Maddened by seeing her guild mate and friend hurt, Kagura threatens Minerva, telling her to release Millianna at once or face her wrath. Minerva merely urges Kagura on in her threat, and Kagura attacks, though just before she can land her blow, Minerva uses her Magic to switch places with Erza, almost causing the two to attack each other. Claiming that she wants the two to battle and that she will fight the winner, Minerva makes Millianna disappear and calmly begins to walk off. Erza calls Minerva a coward and tells her to fight fairly, though the Sabertooth Mage replies that she is merely taking advantage of every situation so that she can win. When Erza further threatens her and demands Millianna's release, Kagura suddenly attacks her, screaming that she has no right to call Millianna a friend. Stating that the two have much to talk about, Minerva vanishes, and Kagura turns her steely gaze on Erza, vowing to defeat them both.

Meanwhile, in another part of Crocus, Gajeel wanders, questioning Mavis' strategy and where it started to go wrong. Rounding a corner, he is confronted by Rogue, the two coldly greeting one another.

Also starting up a battle is Laxus, who has met with Sabertooth's Orga. As Orga reveals his true nature as a Lightning God Slayer, Laxus teasingly inquires whether his powers are enough to kill a fairy.

As the commentators remark on the number of new fights breaking out around the city, they also realized that the Lacrima vision has been unable to find Sting for some time. Whilst Frosch pleas from the stands for Sabertooth to win and save Lector, and Hisui and Datong watch tensely from the palace, Sting sits in an empty alleyway, remarking on the dirty play on Minerva's behalf, but not caring as long as it secures Sabertooth's win. He then says that he has a plan that will lead them into the best victory.

Chapter 61 : Erza vs. Kagura

Standing on the outskirts of town near the Domus Flau, Meredy and Ultear ponder over the apparent end of the world in a day's time, wondering if they should try and evacuate the townsfolk. Jellal however seems skeptical of "future Lucy's" words, stating that there is something wrong with what she said.

Meanwhile, in the streets of Crocus, Erza and Kagura finally decide to end the tension between them with their swords, jumping in to strike one another. Kagura manages to push Erza back, the Fairy Tail Mage Requipping into her Heaven's Wheel Armor to retaliate, though Kagura manages to once again break her defenses, even as Erza resorts to using her Adamantine Armor as a defense and her Flight Armor to land some swift blows. Falling to the ground, Erza asks Kagura if her strength comes from her hatred for Jellal, causing Kagura to angrily kick her in the gut and send her flying. As Kagura walks to Erza's fallen figure, Erza asks her not to drag Millianna along with her hatred of Jellal, as Millianna, being free from the Tower of Heaven, has finally started to have an optimistic life. Kagura however states that it is Millianna's own choice, and once again strikes Erza as the female knight questions what Jellal did to her.

Enraged to the point of no return, Kagura states that she is the younger sister of Simon, and that the two lived happily together until Simon was kidnapped and taken away. Conveying that she tried desperately to locate her brother, Kagura recounts how she eventually found out about his slave life and death at Jellal's hands when she met Millianna some time ago, vowing from that moment on that she would seek vengeance by taking Jellal's life.

Hearing these words, Erza replies that Millianna was never at the scene of Simon's death, rather just herself, Jellal, Simon and Natsu. Tearing up, Erza then says that she killed Simon. Kagura initially believes she is covering for Jellal, but Erza persists, saying whilst Simon's death was Jellal's fault, she is to blame, as it was her weakness that caused Simon to die.

Beginning to cry herself, Kagura's heart starts to beat faster and faster as her mind races. Finally, with a mighty cry, Kagura draws her sword and aims straight at Erza, resulting in a spill of blood and causing the crowd to stares on in shock while Jellal sits with a saddened expression.

Chapter 62 : Rosemary

The crowd watching the Grand Magic Games stares on in shock as Kagura draws her sword on the grounded Erza and aims it straight at her neck. As a huge current of raw Magic power rips right through the buildings of Crocus, the dust clears to reveal a barely injured Erza, who managed to avoid most of the blow by hastily blocking with her own sword. The Fairy Tail guild smiles on as their female knight then stands, coldly claiming that she cannot die, as, thanks to the sacrifices of both Simon and Rob, she has managed to live. Announcing that to abandon her life would be almost criminal, the bloody Erza Requips into her hakama clothing and moves to continue the fight.

This little speech does not impress Kagura though, the Mermaid Heel Mage screaming that she will kill both Erza and Jellal as she charges once more. Erza, however, surprises her by blocking all of her attacks and managing to land one of the first of her own, flipping Kagura to the ground as her guild mates watch on in surprise.Just as the commentators begin to wonder if Erza has won the match, Kagura stands again, though just as she gets to her feet the concrete pillar right above her begins to collapse, raining heavy rock downwards in her direction. As the rubble smashes into the ground, Kagura realizes that she has not been hit, as in a last second reflex Erza has pushed her out of the way, but been hit by the rock herself. Questioning why Erza would go so far to protect her, Erza reveals that the two have actually met before, and states that she also grew up in Rosemary Village, the same place Kagura and Simon lived as children.

Continuing, Erza recounts how she always knew Simon had a sister, but as she never found out his sister's name she had no idea it was Kagura herself. As Kagura begins to remember meeting Erza as a child, Erza recalls how when Rosemary Village was attacked by the Zeref-following cult, Erza managed to save Kagura from capture by hiding her inside a crate, despite the heroic action getting her caught and taken to the Tower of Heaven herself. Now remembering that Erza was in fact the little girl from that night, Kagura begins to cry, and Erza states that she always hoped the Mermaid Heel Mage was safe. Moved by Erza's words, Kagura goes to help heft the rocks still weighed down upon the Fairy Tail Mage, and with this help Erza frees herself.

Before Erza can move to say anything, Kagura goes to admit defeat in the battle, though just as she is about to finish her sentence, she is grabbed from behind by Minerva, who uses the previously dropped sword to stab her through the back. As the Mermaid Heel guild all stand shocked at the sudden appearance of the Sabertooth woman, Kagura falls to the ground, and Minerva gleefully points out that though Erza did all of the fighting the win is technically hers, awarding her guild five points and boosting them to first place. Sadistically advancing on Erza, Minerva reminds Erza of her previous statements about Kings and manipulation, as Erza, bloodied and with her legs now injured from saving Kagura, merely glares in return.

Chapter 63 : The Future Accelerating Towards Despair

Away from the other battle participants, Sting Eucliffe sits silently.

In the aftermath of her having stabbed and eliminated Kagura from the game, Minerva taunts Erza, telling her she's next but stating she knows how the battle between them will end given her wound. Erza looks down at a defeated Kagura, who tearfully asks her to save Millianna. Upon hearing her name, Minerva brings the cat girl to the battle, out of the game and earning Minerva another point. As Erza checks up on her, she notices heavy wounds on her back, which Minerva states she inflicted in order to have fun while she waited. As Minerva comments on having enjoyed her screaming, Erza stares at her with a vengeful glare.

Meanwhile, Gajeel attacks Rogue, who is unable to land a blow. Gajeel tells the Sabertooth Mage that he can't get stronger than him in one day and that he should give up since, even while paired with Sting, he couldn't defeat Natsu Dragneel. In response, Rogue tells Gajeel that he isn't as powerful as Natsu, angering the Iron Dragon Slayer.

Elsewhere, Laxus and Orga clash. Orga comments on Laxus' passion, stating it is just as what he thought. In response, Laxus asks him if what he's shown is all he's got, given how big he talks. Orga and Laxus ready themselves again just as Jura arrives, commenting on their strength and asking if he can join them, stating he can feel his blood boil. Orga gets nervous as the Wizard Saint approaches while Laxus calls him a monster.

At the same time, Juvia and Chelia continue their battle. Chelia accuses Juvia of bewitching Lyon, though the latter claims she only has eyes for Gray. Suddenly, Lyon arrives, commenting that it's surprising to see Chelia having a hard time and that Juvia must be strong while Gray arrives as well. As the girls are surprised to see the two boys arrive, Lyon comments on Gray's beat-up appearance, though Gray retorts that they'll still take care of him. Juvia misunderstands Gray's words as being representative of his affectionate feelings for her and asks when they'll go on their honeymoon, causing Gray to ask what she's got going on in her mind. As Lyon stares, stating that he needs to make Juvia realize, Chelia tells him he's the one who needs to realize.

Inside Mercurius, the rescue team, having gotten lost inside the massive castle, wonders about their next course of action. Natsu suggests fighting soldiers, though Carla points out that they have injured parties. Mirajane claims that since their guild is in the Grand Magic Games, they also need to make a good impression since the king sponsors it, though Yukino states that having beaten the Garou Knights, it's too late for that. At the same time, a worried Lucy looks over her future counterpart. Loke tells her that she needn't worry, since he can love both of them.

Suddenly, the Lucy from the future wakes up and begins wondering where she is. Learning she's inside the castle, she recalls her memory which tells her that after escaping Abyss Palace, they get captured again. Though the Mages are skeptical, she states that since they came across the Eclipse Machine, they couldn't use Magic and were susceptible. Due to their bad luck, they stayed in jail. Wendy asks the Lucy of the future why she came back to the past, to which she states that she did so to change the worst possible future, alarming the Mages.

While watching the games, Princess Hisui states she was told that a herd of 10,000 dragons was coming to attack Fiore, resulting in the city being burned down, the castle destroyed and many people dying. While Datong questions the truth of it, Hisui states that she was told the answer and that the results of the Grand Magic Games will guide her decision.

Chapter 64 : Frog

After hearing about the 10,000 dragons that are said to be coming to attack Fiore, the rescue team stares in disbelief at the Lucy from the future. Similarly, Datong questions the assertion, with Princess Hisui stating that it's hard to believe and that she not until she sees the results of the Grand Magic Games.

Meanwhile, an extremely shocked Natsu questions the revelation, with several others wondering about it as well. As Wendy asks whether it could be related to the events in the Dragon Graveyard, Natsu takes weaponry and suggests fighting the dragons, much to the surprise of the others. Lucy wonders whether anyone will really believe what is said to happen, though Natsu claims they will since it's her who told them. Lucy talks to her future self, telling her not to be sad since she has her friends.

Carla recalls her vision and realizes Lucy wasn't singing, but rather, crying and screaming as the castle came down. Quickly, Carla asks the Lucy of the future what happened to them in the castle, which is answered by silence, to everyone's sadness. Stating that she didn't know how many days passed after that, the future Lucy explains that she came to the past after waking up and using the Eclipse, despite not knowing how, and arrived on July 4th. When asked why she only came to the recent past, she states that the machine was damaged. The future Lucy then asks the group to meet Jellal, who she explained everything to and should be forming a strategy, claiming that she doesn't have one.

Arcadios recalls a previous conversation with the princess in which she stated that Eclipse had gathered Magic energy over the last seven years and was approaching the same level of power as Etherion. Claiming it could be used to defeat the dragons, the princess stated it would be Phase 2 of the Eclipse project. Arcadios states it was a lie when the future Lucy said that she came on July 4th and questions why she would lie to her friends. As the future Lucy states she just walked around town, she apologizes to the group. However, Natsu thanks her for the information and states that they'll protect the future.

On the rocky cliffs, Ultear comments that they don't know whether what Jellal heard was true, causing Meredy to ask the person he spoke to was lying. Thinking about the dragons, the Magic and Eclipse, Jellal states that something doesn't feel right and that either what he was told was not true or that the Lucy he spoke to was a fake.

In Crocus, Gajeel, dominating Rogue in their fight, asks again what Rogue said about him being weaker than Natsu. As Frosch worries, Rogue he now understand why Gajeel joined Fairy Tail. Claiming that he admired Gajeel as a child and wanted to join Phantom Lord, he states he was surprised when Phantom Lord lost the guild war and Gajeel joined Fairy Tail. Stating that it didn't make sense, he believes Gajeel stayed because of his friends. Stating that it is a concept which doesn't exist in Sabertooth, Rogue wonders what to fight for as Gajeel fights for his friends and thus, he can't win.

In response, Gajeel asks Rogue whether or not Frosch is his friend, which he admits that he is, to Frosch's delight. Suddenly, Rogue hears a voice calling him weak, causing him to look around and ask who it is. Turning around, Rogue realizes his shadow is talking to him. Telling him to kill Gajeel, Rogue's shadow offers him the strength to help him.

Chapter 65 : Gajeel vs. Rogue

While coursing through the underground path, the future Lucy explains to the Mages that she explored the area to make sure they wouldn't be captured by the army. As Mirajane mentions sending a flare for their guildmates, the group is suddenly confronted by the army. Natsu readies to fight, citing their Magic as the reason why they won't be captured. However, the group notices that Yukino and Arcadios have disappeared. Rather than fight, Mirajane leaves to find Yukino while the rest fight the army. At the same time, Carla is conflicted as to what to do.

In the games, Rogue struggles while hearing the voice of his "shadow". As he starts screaming, Gajeel asks him to calm down, resulting in Rogue attacking him, much to everyone's surprise. Gajeel realizes he's not fighting Rogue and asks his attacker who he is, for which he is met by the response: "Shadow". As he is kicked again, Gajeel recuperates and attacks with his Iron Dragon's Sword, which his opponent avoids and retaliates against. As Gajeel looks around, not seeing his opponent, "Shadow" appears behind him, emerging from Gajeel's shadow, and attacks. Despite his attempts, Gajeel is unable to fight back, as Mavis notes him to be against an evil Magic she's never seen before. "Shadow" tells him that he's not as strong as Natsu, just as he thought, though he adds that it wouldn't matter since even he can't stand up to him now.

On the rocky cliffs, Jellal, Ultear and Meredy sense the mysterious Magic once again. Ultear notes it to be coming from town, to which Jellal tells them to remain calm, stating that if future Lucy is with Natsu, there is no need to worry.

In the underground, Lucy is told to stay back from the battle, though she claims that she's fine. As the Mages battle, the knights are surprised at their abilities given that they're so young. As Natsu grabs one of the knights and knocks down several of the others by tossing his body, he is hit from behind by a blast of Magic. However, the blast does not hurt him. Despite being surprised, Natsu shrugs it off, saying that such Magic wouldn't hurt a specialist such as himself.

Meanwhile, a near-defeated Gajeel is held choke-held by his opponent. As he is being strangled, Levy screams from the crowd for it to stop. At the same time, Frosch, feeling the need to do something, heads towards the city. "Shadow" then declares that Gajeel will disappear forever as shadows surround him the grounded Gajeel. Stating that if Natsu can do it, then so can he, Gajeel starts feeding on the shadows surrounding him, much to everyone's surprise. Standing up, Gajeel tells "Shadow" to get out of the Shadow Dragon Slayer's body. Asking if he means Rogue, Gajeel begins claiming that he's not Rogue, but his former sworn brother, Raios. Gajeel says that he would've been feared rather than admired, and states that he will help "Shadow" remember that fear as he enters Iron Shadow Dragon Mode.

Chapter 66 : The White Knight

With Gajeel having activated his Iron Shadow Dragon Mode, "Shadow" and the audience are all surprised by the turn of events, with "Shadow" noting that Gajeel now has two elemental types. Gajeel moves in for the attack, making himself disappear by turning into a shadow before hitting "Shadow" in the head from behind. "Shadow" takes on the form of a shadow as well and the two move around the area in said form until "Shadow" is grabbed by the shadow by Gajeel and pulled out before being promptly smashed into the surroundings. As he claims this is not the Gajeel he knows, Gajeel tosses him into the air and unleashes his Iron Shadow Dragon's Roar, creating a devastating blast that engulfs the Shadow Dragon Slayer and shocks all the viewers.

Rogue crashes down to the ground from above, defeated. For his victory, Gajeel earns one point for Team Fairy Tail. Claiming it to be Rogue's limit, "Shadow" leaves his body. Suddenly, Frosch appears in tears and asks Gajeel not to do anything else, lest Rogue die. Gajeel claims the fight is over and he won't do anything else, resulting in Frosch going to his partner's side and trying to wake him up. Rogue wakes up and asks Frosch what happened to him, signifying that he doesn't remember being possessed. Mavis refers to it as an evil shadow whose Magic she's never heard of.

Inside Mercurius, Natsu, Loke and Wendy continue to attack the guards who get in their way. As Lucy wonders how many there are, her future counterpart states they shouldn't have come the way they did. Carla claims it doesn't matter since they have Magic, to which Happy tells her to stay back so he can protect her. As Pantherlily moves in to attack, he is stopped by an acid attack from a member of the Garou Knights. Kamika appears as well, stating that they shouldn't be underestimated and notes that Mirajane isn't around either. Uosuke is carried in on a chair while the leader arrives as well, stating he won't let them leave, much to Natsu's chagrin.

Elsewhere in the castle, Arcadios dons a suit of white armor and the Fiore knights respond in shock given that he should've been removed from his post, but he simply asks where the princess is. Told that she is on the last floor, he heads to meet her. Arcadios states to himself that he has to make sure of what he knows, since the Lucy of the future wasn't lying and that the liar was the princess.

Chapter 67 : Roaring Thunder

The chaos outside the Grand Magic Games continues as Natsu and his team battle their way out of Mercurius and Arcadios, Hisui and Jellal ponder over the coming apocalypse they have been told about. In the Games, Minerva moves to confront the weakened and bloodied Erza, utilizing her Magic to pick her up and throw her around. As she smashes her through a nearby pillar, Minerva gleefully states that she will deliver Erza's public execution.

Also beginning to battle it out are the tag teams of Lyon and Chelia, Gray and Juvia, Lyon quickly casting an array of Ice-Make spells, and Gray responding with his own. However, Gray soon gets a slight advantage, as Juvia, from the river below the bridge the battle is taking place on, sends water upward for Gray to instantly freeze and use. Seeing this, Lyon tries some more powerful attacks, however Chelia soon demands that he attack Juvia as well. Lyon refuses though, stating that Chelia has to attack Juvia, albeit not harm her. As Chelia begins to argue at this, Gray notices that their teamwork is off, believing this will give himself and Juvia a chance at taking the battle.

Meanwhile, in another part of Crocus, Laxus, Orga and Jura stand in their own three-way confrontation. Orga is the first to speak, facing Jura and stating that he wants to see the Wizard Saint go all out, moreover, he wants to see if Jura has the guts to block one of his attacks head on. As the Lamia Scale Mage agrees, Laxus notes that Jura seems to be creating a trap, though Orga, oblivious to this, immediately attacks with Lightning God's Atomic Bolt Cannon. However, Jura merely dodges the attack and grabs Orga in the forehead, smashing him straight into the ground with incredible force. As Laxus and the crowd stare on in sheer disbelief, the debris of the attack clears, showing Orga to be completely unconscious, whilst Jura states that he remembered the Sabertooth Mage's fight from the first day, and wanted to end everything instantly too. With this win, Jura receives another point for Lamia Scale, turning to then face Laxus. From the stands, Ooba congratulates Jura and gloating states that Makarov stands no chance, as, during the seven years he was absent, Jura climbed in the rankings of the Ten Wizard Saints, now being considered the fifth strongest of the group. Beside her, Sherry points out that there are still four people stronger than Jura, though Ooba quickly defends him by stating that the four higher-ranked members can't be humans at all, calling Jura the strongest human Wizard Saint.

Back on the battlefield, Jura begins to state that he has always wanted to fight Laxus, however the Fairy Tail Mage quickly interrupts him, annoyed by Jura's fancy use of titles. He states that formalities have no place in their fight, as, on the battlefield, they are no more than two men. With this being said, Laxus surges forward shrouded in lightning, though just before he can touch Jura, he is brutally hit on the back of the head and sent slamming into the ground. From the stands, the crowd and commentators begin to think that Jura has once again taken somebody down with a single blow, Jura too openly telling Laxus that there are always people in the world stronger than oneself. Laxus though, surprises the Lamia Scale Mage by suddenly jumping up and sharply upper-cutting him, replying that it's good to look down too, as those stronger people may be just at your feet.

Chapter 68 : Laxus vs. Jura

While still lying on the floor and watching Minerva and Erza's fight, Millianna feels an odd cat-like figure laying on her back, but is unsure as to whether it is real, or simply her imagination. The fight between Laxus and Jura continues. Much to the surprise of the spectators, Laxus lands a blow on Jura and sends him reeling. Jura retaliates with a spell, followed by Laxus attacking with Lightning Dragon's Heavenward Halberd, which Jura blocks. The two Mages trade blows and both prove to be resilient fighters, with the audience commenting on their abilities. Mavis notes the look on Makarov's face, one indicating that he didn't expect such strength from Laxus. Mavis comments on the impressiveness of the young Mages while the fight continues. Laxus and Jura express respect for one another's skills, with the former borrowing Natsu's line for battle and the latter stating they should keep going.

At the same time, Natsu and the rest of the rescue team continue their battle against the Fiore Army, which has since teamed up with the Garou Knights. Meanwhile, Erza's injured leg puts her at a disadvantage in her battle against Minerva. However, Erza refuses to give up against the Sabertooth Mage, stating she made a mistake by angering Fairy Tail. Minerva comments on her Magic giving her the advantage over her opponent, however, Erza sees through it and delivers a blow. Angry, Erza activates her Second Origin, much to the surprise of the spectators and Requips to a new armor.

Elsewhere, Gray and Juvia sustain heavy injuries in their battle against Lyon and Chelia. As Lyon apologizes to Juvia, Chelia tells him to finish them off. Gray tells Juvia that the weak spot of their opponents is their teamwork and tells her they can do better. Taking her hand, Gray tells her they will use their full Magic, which she happily agrees to. Meanwhile, Mavis comments on the beauty of youth while watching the battles. In his, Laxus activates a new technique; Roaring Thunder, a powerful blow which he uses on Jura, knocking the Wizard Saint out of battle as he admits defeat, much to the joy of Laxus' comrades. With that, Laxus earns 5 points for Team Fairy Tail.

Chapter 69 : Gloria

Gray and Juvia combine their Magic Power in a last resort to take out Lamia Scale's Lyon and Chelia. Seeing them ready their attack, Lyon moves to defend, though Chelia seems rooted to the ground, unmoving as she stares in awe at the two approaching her. As Lyon tries to shake her back to her senses, Juvia and Gray together cast their spells, sending the two flying; Lyon curses Chelia for her actions. Seeing their opponents defeated, Juvia and Gray smile at each other, only for the situation to become awkward when Juvia refuses to let go of Gray's hand. In the stands, both Sherry and Ooba stand shocked at the loss, Ooba spinning herself in her disbelief.

In another part of Crocus, Minerva moves to confront Erza, the Requip Mage having just released her Second Origin to don a new armor: Nakagami Armor. Casting her spell, Minerva is stunned to see Erza simply cut through it without effort. As she questions what is happening, Levy, from the crowd, comments that the Nakagami Armor has not been worn for over ten years, as it consumes vast amounts of the wearers Magic Power. This being said though, anyone wearing the armor will be able to break the rules of Magic, as well as wield an invincible sword. When Erza begins to approach her, Minerva desperately tries to call her off, though Titania angrily surges forward and slashes her, downing the Sabertooth woman and earning her team five more points for the defeat of a team leader.

With these new points being added to the score board, the crowd begins to cheer for Fairy Tail, believing they have won. However, many soon realize that the difference between Sabertooth and Fairy Tail is eight points, and, should Sting be able to take out all five Fairy Tail team members, Sabertooth will obtain victory, as nine points will be awarded for the defeat of the entire Fairy Tail team. Realizing this as well, Sting declares that his time to participate in the Games has come, and sends up a flare to give off his position to all five opponents, calling them to his location. Seeing the signal and responding, all five Fairy Tail members converge to his position.

When they all arrive, Sting states that he is awed by their performances so far, but follows up by vowing to take them all down at the same time for Sabertooth's victory. Powering up, Sting moves to take the offensive, however, as he begins to approach them, he notices the bold stance and expression they all wear. Despite their wounds and seemingly bleak future at Sting's hand, Fairy Tail is still standing strong. Stopping and beginning to shake, Sting questions his next actions, wanting to take out Fairy Tail for Lector, but at the same time doubting himself. Eventually exhausting himself, Sting falls to his knees, openly declaring his own surrender. These words escaping his mouth, Fairy Tail is given the final point of the Games, finishing the fifth days event and concluding the tournament with their victory.

As the crowd scream and cheer for Fairy Tail and their success, Erza approaches Sting, asking him why he decided not to attack. Sting replies that he believed he would be reunited with Lector if he won the Games, but admits that he also felt he would never meet his friend, no matter what he eventually chose to do. Complementing Fairy Tail on their victory, Sting sadly states that he will never see Lector again. Erza however, smiles at this, stating that he can. From behind her, Millianna suddenly approaches, Lector safe and asleep in her arms. Seeing his friend unharmed, Sting begins to cry and rushes towards Lector, the Exceed awakening and doing the same, the two hugging when they reach each other.

As Fairy Tail and Rogue smile at the happy outcome, Arcadios storms through Mercurius, arriving at the throne room of the palace to find it empty. Concurrently, Hisui and Datong head down a winding flight of stairs, Hisui stating that with Fairy Tail's victory and Sting's open admit to defeat, her informer has proven themselves capable of knowing the future. Declaring the future apocalypse to be true, Hisui announces that the Eclipse 2 Project shall begin.

Chapter 70 : The Shadows That Comes and Goes

The Grand Magic Games of X791 are officially declared to be over with Fairy Tail as the winner, and all over Crocus the different competing guilds offer their congratulations to the team that came in with hardly any apparent prospect of winning. As he sits bruised and battered with Frosch, Rogue comments that it is one of the first times he has ever felt calm over losing, continuing to state that he wants to become a better man who cares for his friends. Also with his Exceed partner, Sting suddenly addresses the members of Team Fairy Tail, asking them why Natsu wasn't participating in the event at all, whilst the team can only nervously glance towards Mercurius and ponder their friends safety.

The team sent in to rescue Lucy do not seem to be okay though, the forces of the Royal Army and the regrouped Garou Knights slowly draining the group of their energy and Magic Power, allowing the kingdom fighters to gain advantages over them. However, just as the group begins to be overwhelmed, a swirling mass of shadow speeds along the floor towards them, sucking down all of the kingdoms fighters, whilst leaving them completely unharmed.

Concurrently, Jellal finally realizes the key factor he has been missing in his uncertainty over Future Lucy. Remembering that Crime Sorcière has felt the malicious force of Zeref every year of the Grand Magic Games, Jellal makes note that Lucy was stated to have arrived on the fourth of July in X791, whilst he remembers meeting her on the night of the third of July. Also seeking answers is Arcadios, who storms over to Princess Hisui's location, demanding to know the current state of affairs she plans to undertake. Replying that her source from the future can now be trusted due to their correct prediction of the Grand Magic Games results, Hisui states that the Eclipse Plan shall be postponed in favor of the Eclipse 2 Plan. When Arcadios questions this, Hisui says that whilst the Eclipse Plan will still go ahead, it is more important to protect the citizens of Fiore from the incoming peril. Suddenly, Arcadios draws his sword, pointing it at his own throat whilst demanding that Hisui tell him the truth. Before Hisui can reply, Arcadios continues, saying that Lucy from the future had no idea the Eclipse 2 Plan even existed, and as such could not have told her to go through with it, as she merely came back to protect her friends. After he finishes, Hisui stares at him blankly, revealing that the person she spoke to from the future was male. Having reached the same conclusion, Jellal simultaneously states that the Lucy he chased on the evening of the third was a different person altogether; someone else also from the future.

In the walls of Mercurius, the shadow that sucked the Royal Army down begins to approach Natsu and his friends. Swirling up and taking on a solid form, the person steps towards the group, whilst they demand to know who he is. As the Crime Sorcière Mages run towards the castle and question the motives of the other person from the future, the shadow man steps forward, introducing himself as Rogue Cheney.

Chapter 71 : The One Who Closes the Door

Natsu and the rest of his team question the appearance of the Rogue from the future, mostly why he has used the Eclipse Gate to come back at all. Concurrently, Hisui and Arcadios also discuss Rogue's motives, with Hisui still believing that he too, like Lucy, came back to protect the future. As Jellal, Meredy and Ultear continue towards Mercurius, Hisui states that she is still going to do as the future Rogue said, and open the Eclipse Gate to save her people.

Back in the catacombs of the castle, Rogue explains that he returned to open the Eclipse Gate, and that the Gate itself has two main functions: it can transport people through time, or be used as a weapon of mass destruction. Continuing, he states that the Gate can be used to destroy the 10,000 approaching dragons and save the country.

Realizing he too came back to aid then, Natsu and his team relax, happy that Rogue has an apparent solution for the future. However, Rogue states that things aren't that simple, voicing that he came from seven years in the future, where barely any of humanity still survives, moreover that the Eclipse Gate is no longer powerful enough in that time to drive back the dragons. Continuing, he claims that the dragons must be destroyed here and now, before they become powerful enough to surpass the Eclipse. When Natsu replies that they should just use the Eclipse to blast the dragons, Rogue states that when that very idea was tried in his time, somebody got in the way and shut the Eclipse Gate.

The others question this, and when Rogue states that he purposely came back in time to kill that person and stop their interference, the group wonder if they could find and reason with the person, who should be willing to co-operate. Rogue though, disagrees, believing that their fate is secured and that the person will close the gate no matter what, unless they are dead. Natsu seems a bit disbelieving, and asks who the person is, with Rogue revealing them to be none other than Lucy. Angered, the man from the future moves to attack her.

Before Lucy has time to dodge the spell, her future counterpart dives in front of her, taking the blow straight on. Badly bleeding and falling to the ground, the future Lucy strains to say that she would never turn against anyone and try to close the Gate, with Lucy believing her. Revealing that she took Rogue's hit to protect both of them, seeing as if Lucy died, she, as her future, would die too, the future Lucy quickly asks to see Lucy's Fairy Tail mark, smiling sadly as she closes her eyes and is finally still. As all of the Fairy Tail Mages present begin to cry over her, Rogue notes that the future Lucy had no recollection of closing the Gate. When Lucy defiantly states that she will never close the Gate and Rogue angrily screams back that she will, the Sabertooth Mage is attacked by Natsu, the Fire Dragon Slayer crying alongside his comrades as he vows to fulfill future Lucy's last words and protect the future.

Chapter 72 : Unity

Having struck Future Rogue, Natsu orders Lucy to leave, and, although she protests, Loke convinces her otherwise. Seeing Lucy attempting to flee, along with Wendy and the Exceeds, Future Rogue charges at her, declaring that he won't allow her to. Natsu, however, intercepts Future Rogue, punching him away. Wiping the tears from his eyes, Future Rogue turns into a shadow, stating that he knew that Natsu getting in his way was a possibility, and that since he will die by the Dragons' hand, killing him won't affect the future in the slightest. Natsu then tells Future Rogue that he was never the way he is now, to which he replies that time changes people, and attacks Natsu, ordering him to die. Natsu blocks Future Rogue's attack, and tells him that he took away something he held dear. Declaring that he doesn't like Future Rogue's way of doing things, Natsu states that they'll protect the future in their own way.

In a well-ornate room of the castle, Mirajane finally finds Yukino, who apologizes for running away. When Mirajane asks Yukino to come with her, Yukino says that she can't, claiming that if she stays with them, they'll be struck with misfortune, and that it's always been that way for her. Mirajane replies that none of her friends ever blame others for their misfortunes and, although Yukino tries to interject, tells Yukino that that everybody's life has meaning, even if it's small.

Atop Mercurius, Hisui orders the soldiers to open to the Eclipse Gate, demanding its unlocking, while Datong and Arcadios silently stare at the Gate. The former remarks upon the Gate's opening, while the latter states that he will see the Princess' will through to the very end. Hisui then orders a status report, with the soldiers, who make up Fiore's Dragon Army, informing her that no Dragons were sighted from the East and West, and that civilian evacuations are taking place, courtesy of the other soldiers. Hisui then states her hope that the Eclipse Cannon will be able to defeat the Dragons, stating that the recharge time for such a Magic Item is immensely long. In the bushes, Lucy, Wendy, and the Exceeds, sans Loke, who, as a Celestial Spirit, cannot be near the Magic-draining Eclipse Gate, remark upon where they ended up. Lucy, upon looking at the Gate, remembers Future Rogue's words about her supposed closing of the gate, and stares down in sadness. Arcadios then surprises the group, having noticed their presence, by declaring that they have no reason to hide, with Carla noting that if Arcadios is with Datong, then all is well. Hisui then apologizes to five Mages, explaining that because it was an emergency, she'll give an official apology another time. Having heard that they've won the Grand Magic Games, Wendy, Happy, and Pantherlily express their joy. Lucy then asks Hisui why she's opening the gate, saying that the Dragons are yet to arrive, to which Arcadios quells Hisui's doubt by explaining that they learned about the information beforehand. When Arcadios wonders where Future Lucy is, Pantherlily tells the Knight that she was killed by Future Rogue, shocking both him, and the Princess. Lucy then tells Arcadios that Future Rogue tried to kill her because, in the future, she closed the Gate. Lucy denies her wish to close the Gate to Hisui, who tells Lucy that the Eclipse Cannon takes time to prepare. Lucy then asks if the Cannon can defeat the Dragons, to which she is replied that the King is making preparations for the worst-case scenario.

In the center of Crocus, before all the Guilds that participated in the Grand Magic Games, the King apologizes for being unable to celebrate the Games' end, stating that he was told of a lurking danger, informing the many Guilds, and their members, of the oncoming threat of the 10,000 Dragons. In the crowd, Evergreen cynically recalls their inability to defeat Acnologia, with Lisanna telling Evergreen that Acnologia was, however, a special case. Cana, standing beside them, dumbfoundedly remarks upon the sheer number of Dragons heading towards them. Toma then states that even with the Eclipse Cannon, the possibility that as many as a few hundred Dragons may survive, and requests that the Guilds help Fiore in its time of need. The King is then met, unanimously, with a wholehearted "yes", and sheds tears of gratitude in response. Over the tumultuous roar of the crowd, the soldiers inform Erza that their friends are fine, to which Gajeel expresses his enthusiasm towards the conflict to come. As Sting remarks upon the King's words, Rogue expresses his delight towards being able to help, to which Lector and Frosch voice their support. Next to them, Rufus and Orga wonder where Minerva has gone. The members of Team Blue Pegasus state their intent on doing the best they can, with Ichiya and Nichiya commenting on the beauty of such a large-scale Guild alliance. As all the members of Team Quatro Puppy chant their excitement, Millianna tells Kagura that she shouldn't overexert herself, to the latter's protest, however. Gray and Lyon resolve to work together once more, while Juvia informs Chelia that Wendy is fine. The King continues thanking everyone, before uttering "Pum", silencing the crowd.

Watching from afar, Doranbolt and Lahar also remark upon the sight of all the Guilds banding together. Lahar, however, notes that Eclipse's very existence infringes a multitude of laws, and says that they must inform the Magic Council. The two Magic Council members are then approached, from behind, by Jellal, who declares that he needs to ask them a favor, much to their shock.

Back in the castle, Natsu and Future Rogue continue their battle, with Natsu, after being pushed back, telling Rogue that he exudes the scent of ill intent. Upon asking Future Rogue if he truly came to save the future, the Shadow Dragon Slayer maliciously grins.

Lucy, still atop Mercurius, then watches, alongside the Dragon Army, as the Eclipse Gate finally opens.

Chapter 73 : Natsu vs. Rogue

As the clock strikes midnight and the seventh day of the seventh month begins, Fairy Tail stand waiting in Central Park, the place they previously agreed to protect should the incoming 10,000 dragons fail to be taken out by the Eclipse 2 Plan. As they wait, Gajeel makes note of the date at hand, both he and Levy commenting on how the Dragons disappeared, and will now reappear, on the same day. When Cana worries about Erza and the rest of Team Fairy Tail's wounds, the group refuse to go rest, stating that, thanks to Chelia, they have been healed enough to stand and fight with everyone else. Glancing upwards, Freed says that the moon looks slightly odd, with Laxus noting that there is an eclipse.

Meanwhile, in the courtyard of Mercurius, Lucy, Wendy, Arcadios and Hisui watch as the Eclipse Gate begins to open, whilst below them in the tunnels of the castle, Natsu continues his confrontation with the Rogue of the future. Hearing a loud sound, Rogue comments that the Gate is being opened, though, as he failed to kill her, it shan't remain open long, as Lucy will close it. Blocking an attack sent his way, Natsu screams back that Lucy would never compromise the safety of everyone's future, though Rogue continues in his mission to finish Natsu off and then take her out.

Enraged to hear of Lucy's safety being threatened, Natsu activates his Lightning Flame Dragon Mode and charges, though the future Rogue manages to deflect his attacks, smirking as he asks if this is Natsu's hidden power. Activating a strange new technique of his own, Rogue then proceeds to land blow after blow on Natsu, sending the Fire Dragon Slayer to the ground. As a brutally injured Natsu struggles to stand, Rogue comments that he is using the combined abilities of both shadow and light, a technique he claims to have gained after his killing of Sting. When Natsu asks if Rogue has truly forgotten the ability to value life, Rogue confirms, declaring that he will kill Natsu, whilst moving into a stance to cast a final spell in his direction.

However, before Rogue gets the chance, a myriad of Lacrima spheres appear and surround him, Ultear running in from down the corridor to attack with her Arc of Time. The debris from her attack clearing, Rogue has fled the scene; Ultear and Meredy both rush to tend to the bleeding Natsu. As she holds Natsu and hastily gets Meredy to retrieve their first aid kit, Ultear suddenly cries out as Natsu begins to be sucked into the floor by a shadow.

Concurrently, those above ground watch as the Eclipse Gate swings wide open, though, as Wendy comments on how the future Lucy will be happy when humanity is saved, the present Lucy steps forward, declaring that the Gate should not be opened, and stating that she will close it immediately.

Chapter 75 : My Part Too

As those around her stare on in shock, Lucy rushes towards the Eclipse Gate, screaming that its doors need to be closed instantly. Begging for someone to listen, Lucy is interrupted by Hisui, who moves to stand in front of her as she states that the Eclipse Gate is the only weapon the country has against the dragons. Rebutting, Lucy states that there is no such thing as the "Eclipse Cannon", and that the entire device can only be a gate that accesses different points in time. As Lucy reveals that the Gate connects their spot in time to that of Fiore over 400 years ago, the ground begins to shake, the tremors being felt even by those far away in the streets of Crocus.

As those around it stare on in complete disbelief, a huge dragon suddenly roars and pulls itself out from within the Gate, the members of the army and all those present scream as they are flung backwards from the mere roar of the gigantic beast. Raising its clawed feet, the dragon proceeds to smash the ground beneath it, this alone causing crevices to rip through the town, a blast wave instantly destroying everything in its path. Stupefied by the sudden chunks of earth that are lifted up and flung from beneath their feet, those in the city wonder what could possibly be happening.

At Mercurius, everyone can do nothing but watch as more dragons walk free from the Eclipse Gate, each causing total destruction. Grabbing Hisui, Lucy demands to know how the Gate can be closed, with the Princess pointing to a large pedestal near the opening of the Gate. Running forward, Lucy tries to grab the lever, but is continuously brushed backwards by the chaos the dragons are instigating. Trying again and again, Lucy eventually manages to grab hold of the handle, stating that only she, with her Celestial Spirit powers, can close the door. After being asked how she could possibly know all of this, Lucy reveals that she had Crux analyze the Gate the entire time that they were in its presence, the Spirit telling her that the Gate combined Celestial Spirit Magic with writings from the 'Book of Zeref' in order to work. Continuing that normally one would be able to control the time period accessed, Lucy says that, due to the current lunar eclipse, the Magic has been corrupted, locking the Gate to a date 400 years ago: the time when dragons existed.

As those around her realize the truth in her words, yet another dragon walks free, Wendy wondering why Lucy hasn't sealed the Gate yet. Wondering that herself, Lucy seems incapable of closing the door, whilst Hisui, realizing her grave miscalculation, sheds tears in fear for her country's survival. Lucy, however, screams that she will not let the world suffer such a fate, as she wants to be able to live her future her own way, getting her own share of laughter and fun.

Concurrently, below the castle, Ultear and Meredy hear the tremors from the arriving dragons. As Ultear continues to try and pull Natsu from the shadow sucking him down, the Dragon Slayer suddenly grabs her shoulder, pulling himself out with his own strength. Together, with her grabbing the Gate's handle yet again and him succeeding in freeing himself, both Lucy and Natsu declare that they will protect the future.
