I kinda just started writing this because I was bored, so I've decided to make a wittle story for all of you
So it's called "Down to Earth" (hence the title) and it's about a 15 year old homeless boy named Demosthenes.
Anyway, here's the First Chapter now, and I'll write the next chapters as soon as I can.
Sorry if this is a little short for you. P.S. There's a cliffhanger towards the end.
Oh and if you don't like it, don't keep reading it. *cough* haters. . . *cough*
Chapter 1: Demothenes and Demons
It was a rainy night. The rain pattered against the window panes in the shops nearby. The lights were on in every one of them, but no one seemed to be inside. Their light casted shadows throughout the alley, creating ghoulish shapes that looked like small, black demons. Yet even if there was a ray of light that snuck through that alley, it seemed to be consumed by the darkness that had been there for nearly a century.
Demosthenes walked through it all without fear. He had on a stained grey hoodie and a pair of old, tattered jeans to fit the “homeless look” bill. He looked down as he walked, casting a shadow that looked as demon-like as the rest. His face was half covered by his hood, but you could see his frosted blue eyes sparkle in the rain. Puddles splashed as he stepped through them on the old brick walkway, and with each rhythmic step it felt as though something was creeping closer toward him.
Demosthenes halted in the middle of the alley, but he didn’t look up. His shoulders were tense, and he could feel a chill crawling up his spine. Never had he felt this scared. He had walked through this same alley so many times (half of which were in darkness). Demosthenes took a deep breath and relaxed his shoulders. He turned and took his hood off to reveal his fair blonde hair and his lightly freckled face.
Nothing was there.
Demosthenes was a little confused. He swore he saw something in the corner of his eye. It might have been the shadows. Those figures could scare anyone, even him.
However, as he turned to return to his walk, a large, gruesome figure stared into his eyes. It was a dog- but not just any dog. It was large enough to knock over a brick wall and it looked like a wolf. Yet its fur was as black as pitch. The claws on the animal were about the same size as Demosthenes’s fist. Its teeth were barred and surprisingly pure white. Each tooth was the size of a small dagger. The color of its gums was scarlet, to match the color of the eyes on the massive hound. And the eyes- the eyes were so bright, and they had no pupils. Demosthenes stepped back slowly, and his eyes not leaving the beast’s. It growled loud enough for the other side of town to hear, but no help came.
“What now?” he thought. He could tell the dog was bloodthirsty, so he did what the most sensible man would do. Kneel, and wait for it to end. It was corny, but it was better than being chased and then suffer more than he had to. He would die either way. So, he closed his eyes, fell to his knees, and waited for the beast to put him to his end.
Hey, Imp here.
