What was the purpose of Hook in this game?

I forgot his role in the game but I do remember it being pointless and stupid. It was really a waste of a good villain.

 

Also, can Ansem/Yen Sid's new voice acter play his voice as good as the old one? I don't see anyone replacing a voice like Captain Hook's and I want his voice to be the same.

    I found him an annoying idiot in this game. The only part about Neverland I liked was flying. Hook was ignored.
