FF13 PROS, HELP ME! I'm at the end of chapter 9, and i can't beat Barthandelus. I've looked up the walkthroughs on how to beat him, and they all say to use shrouds before the fight (I don't have any and have used all of the ones in the area up) and at the beginning to use a librascope (I don't have any) Is there any other way to beat Barthandelus?

attack the heads (small ones) then cast debuffs on him. when he uses this one attack use Sen/sen/sen to minor the damage then keep attack him

It kinda depends on your role levels. I found that Relentless Assault (RAV+COM+RAV) and Diversity (COM+RAV+MED) worked just fine, and summoning your Eidolon will freeze the Doom timer if he casts it on you. Salvation (MED+MED+MED) is good for emergency situations.

If your levels aren't quite up to par, I'd recommend Evened Odds (SYN+SAB+MED) for buffs and Smart Bomb (SAB+RAV+SAB) for quick chains. Barthandalus should be Unprotect and Unshellable, I thought. If you really feel the need, you can include Tortoise (SEN+SEN+SEN) for his Theanosian Laughter, but I always just switched to Salvation.

I wouldn't have thought of it,but THIS lol.Um but man its been so long since I played FF 13 OR FF 13-2.Maybe I should replay it on a harder difficulty.Love that game so much.Probably will be my second favorite game on the PS3 once KH III comes out. P.S I don't have that many games on my PS3 lol.

Team: Lightning, Hope, Fang

Paradigms:

Relentless Assault (Rav, Rav, Com)

Mystic Tower (Rav, Rav, Sen)

Delta Attack (Com, Rav, Sen)

Combat Clinic (Med, Med, Sen)

Aggression (Com, Rav, Com)

(Can't Remember= CR) Med, Syn, Sen

Start on CR and let Hope cast his defensive buffs. Once they're up, shift to Delta Attack. Target each one of the smaller heads one-by-one until they fall, switching to Mystic Tower if they get near a stagger and Combat Clinic if you're low on health. Once all the cannons are down, use Delta Attack to maintain a the stagger gauge, and when you are ready to go for the stagger switch to Mystic Tower. After the stagger, go for Relentless Assault to raise the stagger gauge, and then Aggression to deal even more damage. When he uses his most powerful attack, switch to Combat Clinic right away.
