Ok so I've been dating my now long distance boyfriend for (as of tomorrow) 8 months! Let me give a little bit of background info.

We met at a computer club (for simple terms) and I saw him there but didn't really say much to each other(cause I had about 5 other guys trying to flirt with me cause I was the only girl in the room). After the meeting I'm walking down the hallway and I hear these running footsteps. I turn around to see what is going on (thinking that someone is running late for class) and its him full on running, arms swinging up and down. He catches up to me and stops. I ask if he is okay, and he says. "I'm good. What are you doing tonight?" Long story short, we end up dating for the rest of the semester, and up to now.

Lately its been harder though, I left in April and upon my leaving we both agreed to let the other date other people but we would stay in contact. Inevitably we both did but the end result was the same, we both got hurt by it and went back to each other. He has roughly about another week and a half of school and with that finals. After finals he is going to make a 30 hour drive back home to his parent's house and I wont see him til September.

Is there a way to make the distance less straining?

Webchat, hang out with friends to try and keep your mind off of it, etc.

Talk to him over the phone when you can, Skype if you could, or send letters the old fashioned way (E-Mail or through regular Mail)

Hope things go better with you two!

if you have a smartphone dload the free app Viber you can talk without costs and see eachother.

you only need the phone and have to pay for the data.

I talk to my friends all over the world, cause at home I have a good wifi connection.

Long distance relationships never last. The fact you've been doing this for 8 months is good.

tutti frutti. Props to the two of you for keeping a long distance relationship going for 8 months. If the two of you are determined to keeps things going, hang in there.

Thanks guys! I figure school starts again in -looks at calendar- 56 days? Whenever september 5th is. And I might be able to Skype him when he gets home cause his camera on this laptop is broken, but with everything else, only time will tell.

Long distance can be hard, but you can always tell yourself you've done 8 months and that he'll be back in September. But like everyone has said, try getting Skype. You can video/audio chat. If you can, call each other. If you two really care about each other you can make it work. Good luck to you. ^^
