I've seen the guidelines, but do any of you have some tips for me on writing a KH fanfic?

Study the characters, if you're using any existing ones. That's the first step towards an enjoyable read.

Make sure the characters stay in character. It's a bit annoying to see a nice character in the series act like a total jerk in a story. Also, try to avoid cliches. And make sure the story is readable. That's the most important. Grammar, paragraph spacing, spelling, etc.

 

and dialogue.

rule number one: cliches are firetrucking stupid so don't make it cliche ok

 

rule number two: be a good writer - don't make it all dialogue with two sentences of narrating in between

 

rule number three: for the love of god, don't put it in script or chat format

 

rule number four: OOC is the devil - if you make someone like riku or zexion a love machine, at least make them in character

 

rule number five: it kind of goes along with cliches, but try your best NOT to write an AU highschool fic

 

rule number six: OC's usually ruin a story so uh... yeah don't do that
