An odd Symphony of Sorcery question...

This isn't a life or death question, but it's something that's bugging me: in the Symphony of Sorcery, when Riku is in the Winter movement, you create a iceberg on the pond, and several large snowballs appear. What is the point of the snowballs? The target signal appears on them, but I can't figure out what you're supposed to do.

    Jump on them, and run over Dream Eaters! I tried them out yesterday.
