Kassie pulled away from him. "I'm sorry, please for give me,this is wrong. I'm under you, always." She said.

She let go off Micah's hand."I'm  sorry." She looked away.

For a moment, Micah too looked away from Kassie, his face showing a bit of hurt. "No..." He muttered, "Forget the social status! It doesn't matter! Why should that keep us away from each other?" Micah asked, his stern face showing much more hurt now.

Kassie looked down. "I just don't want to cause you a problem." She said.

"I could get you in trouble." She said.

"Are you sure?" She asked.

Micah held out his hand, his face very soft. "Yes." He finally said, "I don't care if I get in trouble. Those who'll hate us can go screw themselves. They won't understand." Micah said, his expression breaking out into joy.

"So I'm totally sure. Kin aren't Gods. We're just like you."

Kassie blushed. "I just..don't want to shame you." She said.

She hugged him. "I still love you." She said.

"You won't. I promise." Micah replied, "Can we go, then?" He asked, "Or...could we kiss...again?"

He sighed, looking away. He wasn't sure what to do, or say. His heart was beating quickly in his chest, his tail swishing franctially while his ears stood in a straight up position, all of it because of this moment.

Kassie blushed. "One more kiss co-couldn't hurt." She said.

She leaned in and kissed him. She then quickly pulled away. "For good luck." She told him.

Micah, for a moment, hugged Kassie. Leaning his head against her own, his eyes slowly blinking. Finally he let go after a few more moments.

"May we hold hands again?" He asked, offering his own, "I'm ready to enter the city now, if you are." His heart was racing now, with his face lined in a faint blush.

Kassie nodded and took his hand. "Yes,let's go." She said

She smiled. "I just hope this works out well." She thought.

Micah held a faint smile, silently going down the grassy hill. The city wasn't too far off-- Micah reached the road that snaked down below in no time. He looked back to Kassie, soon looking away after that. "So...um, tell me..about yourself, Kassie...if you don't mind." He asked, his twin-colored eyes looking to her again as he walked down the side of the path.

"I did,right?" Kassie asked.

"I must have,I remember it so clearly." She thought.

"I mean, a little more than that." Micah replied, "Actually...never mind. Forget it." Micah sighed, feeling a bit bad now for forgetting something so simple. He simply walked quietly after that, his tail finally having finished it's insane wagging. However, his ears layed flat in his wallowing of sadness.

Kassie sighed. "I'm sorry." She said in almost a whimper.

"I've never left home,so I'm not as well trained." She glanced at him. "But I try." She said proudly.

"It's fine." He replied, giving a small smile. "It's fine if you aren't all too trained, over time, you can over come that." Micah gave her a proud and caring smile, halting as they reached the path. He nodded to their left, looking down the path that lead to the city."That's where we're headed.."

Kassie nodded. "It's okay, let's just go." She said.

"I just want to get there." She added.

Micah nodded, quickening his pace a bit. He yawned-- again sleep was catching up on him.

"I may have asked this already, but why did you come to the capital?" Micah asked, looking to Kassie as he walked, his hand in hers. "I'm here to see a few things, and test out my magic...along with the adventure."

"Ah I haven't told you that yet,but...I'm sorry,I can't tell. Not just yet." Kassie gave him a look of sadness.

"It's just something I have to do." She smiled slightly.

"I'll tell you when I feel ready to talk." She left go of Micah's hand.

Micah nodded once, "When you're ready, tell me." He confirmed,  walking down the brown dust path that lead to the city. They soon reached it-- the distance was far smaller than Micah had first thought.

"It's...big." He said, his face in awe at the towering wall that surrounded to city, one massive gate being the only way in. "You ready?"

Kassie smiled. "Soon I'll be ready soon, and yes I am ready." She took his hand.

"Let's go had in hand, but for I chicken out of it." She added and gave him a look of worry.

"A warning this city is mainly humans." She said slowly as if to make it turer.

Micah smiled brightly at that, looking to Kassie. "Thank you." He whispered, stepping forward. They began to walk through the gate-- easily passing through, as if the city had no security whatsoever.

Of course, Micah didn't notice the cleverly hidden guards, who were stationed all over. "I'm aware of the human population, though." He finally said, his ears perked up; his heart beating quickly as the finally entered the city itself.

Kassie smiled. "I'm glad, still I think it will be fine." She said.

"I mean humans can be reasonable." She laughed.

Usually. Micah thought, remembering the few humans who had to pass through his village: almost all of them held some prejudice against the Beast-Kin, as if they were born with that hate.

Nevertheless, Micah pushed forward, entering the city's proper. The road continued on up a hill that lead to one, massive chapel that towered over the city. The road was a clean, light red cobblestone path, with businesses and stores lining the road, and all sorts of folk milling about. Of course, a few did stop and stare at the Kin holding hands with the Elf.

Kassie had looked at him. "I guess it all depends on who." She said finally.

She gave a small smile. "Want to hear more about me still?" She asked.

  • Author

"Of course." Micah replied, walking beside her as they walked down the road. He noticed a few Elves scowl at the sight of them, a few Humans merely looking away. There were no Kin in sight, however. Micah noticed this, but said nothing of it.

Kassie tilted her head. "I know humans are hateful." She said reading his mind,at least in her own way.

"When I was a little girl of two a human girl-maybe six ended up getting lost in then woods. My mother and I were out picking fruit. When we passed her. A sad her she was. Even as little as I was I knew to leave her alone. My mother, however won't leave her. We spent three days looking for her home. A small cottage on the edge of the road. It was small. Just enough for two people, but the girl had started to run." Kassie stopped to glance around the area.
