It’s been five years. Five years since my father has left to join the war. I thought he would be back by now, I was wrong. He left when I was only seven years old. My mother died when I was nine. She died of sickness. That’s what the doctor told me. But, I know he was lying. I believe she died of lonesome. We both missed my father terribly, but she needed him more. I am all alone. I live by myself. I have no parents here on this island with me. But, there are still people on this island. In fact, the people on this island are pretty much my family, and I love them very much. They take of me when I need them. They are always there for me, including my best friends, Rex and Kyra. Kyra and I grew up on this island. Rex, well, no one knew where he came from. He never really told anyone. He kept some things a secret. But, I know some day he will tell me. Who am I, you ask? My name is Rowe, and I plan to join this war. I don’t care how old I am and I don’t care what anybody else tells me. I will find my father...
Everyone was asleep. It was close to midnight. Rowe was having some trouble sleeping. He was dreaming about when his father left him and his mother when he was just seven years old. He walked into his father’s room. “Dad?” he said. His father looked over his shoulder. “Hello son,” he said. “You should go back to sleep.” “What are you doing?” “I need to go somewhere for a while.” “Where?” His father hung his head and sighed. He got up and walked up to Rowe. Then he kneeled down. “I am needed to help the others.” “But,” Rowe said. “You can’t leave!!! Mom and I need you.” “I know, buddy.” his father said. “But, I believe in you two.” They hugged and his dream was over. Rowe opened his eyes and laid there. He sighed and looked at the time. “Ugh,” he said to himself. “12:15?? I need to sleep”. He got up and took a walk. Outside his house, there was something going on. A black like portal opened up. Two cloaked figures walked out. One was short and one was tall and skinny. “This is where he lives...” “This is the same place as the other one lived.” the short one said. “Are you sure this is the island?” “I am positive sure.” The short one looked down. The tall figure comforted him. “This place reminds me of him.” “We all miss him...” the tall figure replied back. “This island reminds me of all three of them.” They were both silent for a few moments. They both turned around and looked out to the ocean. The waves were crashing onto the shores of the island. “It sure is beautiful out here at night...” The tall figure nodded. “When will he find out?” the short figure said. “Tomorrow,” the tall figure replied. “TOMORROW?!?!?!” the short figure said. “But, I thought is was next week!!” “Is that when his birthday is?” “DUH!!!” the short figure replied. The tall figure looked at his calendar. “You’re right,” the tall guy said. “I was mistaken.” “Phew...” the little guy wiped his forehead. “That will give us some time to plan.” The short guy took off his hood. He had big round ears. “So,” the short guy said. “Tell me Clem, how is the family?” “They are fine...” he replied. “I got a letter from them just a couple weeks ago.” “You did?” “Yep.” “What did they say?” “They are worried about me...” “Are they?” “They wonder how I am.” “Have you told them yet?” “No, majesty...” “You haven’t sent them a letter once you arrived?” “No...” he looked ashamed. He hung his head. “No wonder why they are worried about you.” The tall figure was silent. “It’s been six months.” the short figure continued. “Why don’t you go visit them?” “What?” Clem said. “A-are you sure?” “Of course I am...” “But,” Clem said. “You need me.” “Of course I do.” the king said. “But, your family needs you more right now.” “Thank you sir!!” he replied. “Thank you SO much!!” The king smiled. “No problem.” They hugged and went back into the portal. They felt good about having the boy become the next keyblade holder. They just hope they don’t make a mistake.
I hope you will like it.
