The thing about Shadow Of The Colossus is that it was a sleeper hit. It's for the PS2, so you can get it used for under $10, or new for $20 if you go to amazon. And no, I have played assassin's creed as well, and Shadow Of The Colossus is better.

Shadow Of The Colossus is the most epic adventure and story to be contained in a single game ever. You play as the wanderer. A solitary figure who goes to a forbidden land to make a deal with a demon to resurect the girl he loves. The demon tells him to destroy 16 "collossi" and then, you go and do such. It is basically a series of 16 boss fights, you climb them (most anyway) finding their weak points and eliminating them. Sometimes on your loyal horse, Agro.. And then the ending sets it up as a prequel to the game "Ico". So if you have a PS3, get the "Ico/Shadow Of The Colossus HD Collection".
