In the land of Hoenn, there is a civil war taking place. There are four parties involved in the fighting, each taking a name from the Japanese Guardians:

 

The Milites Empire consists of the Elite Four of the region, and they seek to conquer the entire region for the advancement of their own power. They use powerful, fully evolved brute force and machinery to fight. Wallace stands as their supreme leader, and his charisma makes troops obey his every command.

 

The Kingdom of Concordia are the lovers of nature who hold a special power over Pokemon. They can communicate with Pokemon and raise them without the use of Pokeballs. They consist of few Rangers and tribes of Pokemon.

 

The Lorrican Alliance is the league of gym leaders from the region. They are a small and elite number that try to fight for their own power and authority, because they used to be the diplomatic leaders of the region. Once the Milites Empire struck, they lost authority. They will slowly disband and divide into other parties...

 

And finally-

 

The Suzaku Fiefdom of Hoenn (or just Suzaku) is the region of the Pokemon Professors. Here Professor Birch has trained a small army of students in the ways of Pokemon battling. They are the "heroes" of this story. They fight for an end to all the conflict. They stress peace and knowledge as the way of the future. As fighters, they do not rely on brute force, but on strategy and skill. Birch's lead commanders are Brendan and May, who oversee all of the classes and support the strongest members on missions. Many students attend the school, but only one class will receive the spotlight here...

Prologue: The Fires of Suzaku

 

 

“AAAARGH! WE’RE UNDER ATTACK!”

A fireball slammed into a home, engulfing it in flames. Milites soldiers stood laughing at their work, their flamethrowers in their hands. Suddenly something flew through the air. One soldier groaned. His friends looked at him. A flagpole had stabbed right through him and planted itself into the ground. The other solders looked upwards. From the roof jumped seventeen hooded figures.

“ Go!” their leader cried.

Quickly, the team dispatched the Milites soldiers. They cleared the bodies away from the flag. It’s golden phoenix shone brightly on the red background. The team stood under the flag.

“ Let’s go! Mission Apostle begins now!” they cried, thrusting their weapons into the air.

Littleroot Town was burning. Smoke filled the air. The Miltes Empire was trying to seize Suzaku’s stronghold.

Drex tossed off his hood and turned to face his team.

“Come on guys, the whole town is under attack. We’ve got to clear the area of soldiers. Split up and help as many civilians as you can,” he said. “We’re looking for their source of power. We kill it, we kill their weaponry. Divide and conquer.”

Drex spun his swords in his hands. His Quilava stood next to him. A soldier appeared from around the corner. He shot bullets towards Drex, but Quilava melted them with Flamethower. Drex cast a fire spell that knocked the soldier off guard. Drex ran up to him and stabbed downwards.

He pulled the blade out of the corpse. The hunt was on.

"Kay," Hope said and laughed, "But lunch first"

She grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to the dinning hall.

Hope grabbed a salad and slice of cake and sat at a booth, motioning over to Rau.

Rau sighed knowing that he couldn't back away now. So he sat and took his lunch out of his bag. It had sushi in it "well Im already here so I guess I might as well eat" he said as he took the chopsticks that looked hand made and began eating.

 

 

 

 

Hisashi sat crosslegged in the middle of the field with a big smile on his face "alright you guys time to eat!" he said as he and his pokemon were almost overly excited as they are thir food.

 

 

 

Alister calmly picked a Oran berry from a tree and bit into it "perfect" he said to himself before picking a few more from other trees as helooked almost happy as he took inthe seren landscape

"Sushi, oshushi in Japan, right?" Hope chimed, as she worked on the salad. "So, what do you wish you were better at?"

Rau looked at her a bit off about what to say due to the lack of social interaction he has. "I don't know what you mean" he said as he looked at her.

 

 

 

Suddenly a dodrio ran by and snatched the dumplings out of hisashi's hand as well as the remainig dumplings in his box. Hisashi was shocked "my- my- MY DUMPLINGS!" he growled before chasing after the Dodrio "come back here with our dumplings!" he yelled as his pokemon were eating them too. His pokemon chased after the dodrio as well as Hisashi.

 

Alister was sitting in a tree in a forest area listening to the pokemon and admiring it's beauty

Lazily Keith let his legs dangle from his perch in his favorite spot. That being said no one else could actually get to or see him because of the wires hanging out all over the place. He wanted to be left alone for the rest of the day now all he had to see was if that would happen. Probably not but it was good while it lasted at the very least.

"Well, you wouldn't be reading if you weren't trying to be better," Hope said to Rau. "I doubt you're reading about war strategies simply for enjoyment."

She had finished her salad and moved onto her cake.

"I'll tell you about me. I want to be able to help people, especially injured ones. I want to improve my magic so that I can cure anyone. One day, maybe I'll earn the White Mage honor!" Hope smiled widely at the thought of it.

"Well, you wouldn't be reading if you weren't trying to be better," Hope said to Rau. "I doubt you're reading about war strategies simply for enjoyment."

She had finished her salad and moved onto her cake.

 

Rau was looking down at his food "well acctually"

Neko sighed as she sat outside. "Cuno?" Articuno asked. "Oh, ya, I have some food for you." Neko said, holding out a berry. "Tri!" Articuno snapped, turning his head. "Articuno, you have to eat something..." she sighed as the pokémon broke open her bag and pulled out a stack of crackers. "Articuno!!" Neko yelled. The pokémon stared at her and layed the package on the groud, Neko smiling.

Suddenly a dodrio ran by Neko and Hisashi and his pokemon followed "Come back here you damn theif! Return my dumplings to me!" he screamed

 

 

Alister was still enjoying the beauty of his surroundings as he watched the wild pokemon in nature. He smiled at them as he ate his berrys. His pokemon were enjoying themselves too.

"What?" Neko asked, stuffing her stuff back in her bag. "Come on boy!" she yelled at Articuno as they quickly ran off, feeling a gust of wind, hitting Dodrio with it.

"uh! What the! Hey those are my dumplings this is my fight!"

Hope smiled gently and reached across the table to wipe some soy sauce off of Rau's cheek. "Go on."

Rau blushed "you dont have to do that" he said "anyway i do read those books for enjoyment and intelligence that is why i am ahead of most of the students in our class." he told hope

"So? Maybe I need to fight..." Neko laughed as Articuno swerved around the Dodrio, grabbing the small bag of dumplings, leaving the pokémon to run away. Articuno placed the bag in Neko's hand and landed on her shoulder. "Here ya go. My name is 'Neko', It's a childhood nickname, but everyone calls me Neko..." she said to the boy, holding out his bag.

Hisashi took the bag and mumbled something under his breath

"What was that? You should be thanking me. Just because it was YOUR fight doesn't mean I can't do something nice..." Neko snapped as Articuno nodded in agreement.

"thanks" he said as he checked the bag and then sighed as he knew he had to do something nice "Would you like to eat lunch together" he said in a tone that made it clear he was forcing himself to say.

"No. I am done, thanks for offering." Neko said, walking away with Articuno fallowing, acting like she didn't fight or talk to anyone at all.

Hisashi let out a sigh of releif "thank god" he said.

"Good, so you want to be the very best," Hope joked, winking at him, "Like no one ever was?"

She laughed at her own joke.

"You know, that TV show? Well, all this reading is going to get you skills for battle, but you won't be able to use them if you're not in synch with us."

Hope had finished her cake and wiped some frosting off of her mouth.

"Well, I'm ready, shall we head outside to the battlefield?"

Fai walked around the school. She looked kinda clueless and lost. "oh dear where is the lunch room." she said as she had a bad sense of direction

Rau put his chopsticks and food box away. "alright then lets go" he said as swampert got up behind him

(OOC: I hate to do this, but if somebody doesn't post every 10 pages, they'll lose their character and the character will be up for grabs. This is just so that the class is nicely represented and so that other people can have more characters and contribute. The two of them walked towards the battle arena. As they were walking in, they passed Fai.

"Hey, Fai," Hope called, "The lunch room is that way! Always getting lost, are we? I'm off to battle Rau, so have fun at lunch!"

Hope took her place at one side of the field.

"What rules do you want to establish, and when should we spar?"
