The Sacred Trinities (Story [Somewhat PG13+])

Posted

Well basically, I made a story on this last year, and then made an RP about it. Now, I think I should have the story posted here, and I really like it. (In total its a long *** 120 pages though.) Anyways, I'll post it chapter by chapter.

Chapter 1: A Typical day...?

Today seemed to be just an average, typical day for me at high school. Well, a boarding school. It was specifically called Cornelia High School. My name was Isaac Ghiral, just a regular seventeen year old guy. I was neither hated nor loved by people in this school, but outside of it I still wasn’t exactly sure. Especially when it comes to my own parents, for them to send me away from them forever only to hear the grave news of my entire family’s mass death when I got here…thinking about why would just give me a headache, which is exactly why I never told anyone anything about my parents.

Anyways, I walked casually to my first period class, feeling ominous. “Hey Isaac, wanna go to my place after school?” Someone asked me. “Oh, hey John.” I responded to John, one of my few friends….my best friend at that. He had short black hair, brown eyes, and light-brown skin. He was wearing average clothes, skinny jeans that were mildly torn, and a plain dark blue t-shirt. “I’ll see you there.” I said again, as we continued our work, considering the teacher is really strict.

I continued the day normally, up until lunch. We had just finished fourth period, and a voice ringed in my head, not coming from anywhere. “Isaac…child of mother Maria and father Dante Ghiral.” Who…what was this!? “Do not be alarmed. We have indeed met before, oblivious to you. Or, perhaps, by some chance, you do remember?” I continued walking and listening, wanting to seem casual around the school. The voice seemed so formal…almost divine. “I…am no human. I am the very deity you call ‘God.’ I am…the Creator.” I decided to think to myself, assuming the voice would hear it. (How am I supposed to believe you? I mean…this is pretty weird though. What would a deity want with me anyways?) “I ask of a major favor of you. As you can tell…I cannot appear before you. I am not able to do so, beyond the laws I myself have created.” (Your point? What do you want with me..?) “You and quite a few others have been chosen. You see…the Gods, Titans, and Monsters in which you refer to as ‘Greek Mythology’ are all betraying the world. From the start, Titans and Monsters have wrought havoc across the world. However…the Gods who were created to stop that madness have lost interest. The Titans and Monsters cannot reach the point where the Gods live, but they can here…on Earth. The Gods see no point in protecting you….which is why I shall call upon you and the others to gain special abilities and save the world from bedlam. Five heroes are already fighting the conflicts. I shall make sure you meet another chosen one in the meantime. Go, Isaac..!”

I was confused. Well, I knew what he had said, I guess I was shocked. Could I believe him? True or not, it was the only thing in life that had interested me. (Meet someone? Let’s see that happen or-) my thoughts were cut short as I bumped into someone, knocking their stuff down. He sighed, “Of course.” I looked down at him. He was just a child! Oh right, I’ve heard of him. Joshua Akira. He was an eleven year old sophomore, the youngest person I’ve seen in a while. He was small…even for his young age. He had very light skin, almost pale. His hair was blonde, and it was a bit shaggy and messy. He wore regular blue jeans and a formal-looking collared shirt, and had light blue eyes that made me feel immensely guilty when I looked at them. I began to pick up a few of the books he dropped, to his surprise. He grabbed the books out of my hands quickly as if I’d intentionally drop them and continued to the ones on the floor. “How’d you get to be a sophomore?” I asked him bluntly. “I skipped a few grades, that’s all.” He mumbled, seemingly expecting me to do something. Oh, I think I understood now. I remember being in class several different days, overhearing some people talking about Joshua…he must’ve been bullied here a lot…especially since he’s so small. He got up and walked towards lunch, completely ignoring me again.

I, myself walked towards lunch too, making sure I’d sit next to Joshua. I wonder what he knew about that voice, and the mythological deities. I ended up next to him, eating the school pizza. “So…what books do you like to read? I like those mystery books.” I said, trying to get to a conversation. (Wow…I must really sound like an idiot right now.) “I read every kind. From mystery, to action, to biographies, to lexicons.” He muttered in response. (Damn, what does it take to get this kid’s attention? Oh well…I’ll just get to the point.) I brought out a flashcard and a pen and wrote quickly, handing him the card afterwards. ‘Did you know Greek Gods don’t stop the Titans and Monsters from wreaking havoc?’ He shot a sharp glare at me then wrote into it himself. ‘I know you’re chosen too. “He” told me already.’ I looked at him still casual with his serious expression. (Well, he really knows how to keep a poker face…) I thought to myself as I ate. Before I noticed it, he left without saying a word. Of course he did. Either way, I was positive I’d see him later anyways.

As normal, I continued the rest of the school day normally and finally exited sixth period. I walked around, looking for John to head to his dormitory, when everything began to feel warm. Not hot, but a comfortable warm feeling was in the air. Light shined down on the area, but no one else seemed to notice. It reminded me of my parents….why?

~Flashback~

I was a baby. Still only three years old…but how was I conscious enough to remember this memory? I lied on the living room couch, hearing my parents argue with my uncle. Was it them, or were they possessed? “If the Creator wants us to tribute our own son…we will!” “This is not the work of the Creator…this is the Destroyer! Don’t you see?! Don’t do it!” “Lies! We have to do this!” My father than physically fought my uncle, whom was defending me. My mother grabbed a dagger and strolled towards me with it. Right as it stabbed I saw a light. Not death…the light protected me from the knife. In the distance I saw an angel who had the same light aura around him. That angel…saved my life.

~Reality~

winged figures appeared in the distant sky, towards me. Angels..? What’s….going on?!

Chapter 2: The Deadly, yet Divine.

Beyond the shining light, angels appeared, elegantly flapping their white wings in my direction. They got closer and closer… (Why is no one noticing?!) I started running, looking for John. Would he be able to see? Was he chosen?! I haven’t seen him since first period. “John! Where are you?” The flapping of wings stopped and I heard a soft thud. The angels landed. I heard the unsheathing of some kind of metal. The angels….they had weapons! I saw axes, chains, dual swords, hammers, and a lot more, but I didn’t want to see. I finally found John, “There you are! Do you see them?!” I quickly asked. “Yeah I see them, Isaac, now RUN!” He said as we started running like all hell broke loose. An angel glided towards us with his dual blades. We dodged the blades luckily, but the angel moved the swords so the buds of the swords hit us. I nearly fell, and I kept on running still off balance. “Come on, John! Keep going!” The same angel charged at us again. I heard a very loud ‘BOOM’ sound, and the angel disintegrated. John and I fell back from the noise and sat there shocked.

Two more angels glided towards us when someone jumped in front of them stabbing and disintegrating them with ease. “Am I going to need to save you boys like this very often?” She said. She wore a black leather suit along with high heels and had long black hair. She glared at us with intimidating dark blue eyes. “Wh-wh-who…are…you..?” John asked stuttering and mildly blushing. I assume he fell in love, but that wasn’t something I could focus on now. “My name’s Luxuria, I’m only here to save your asses from these angels.” She said, blasting two more angels simultaneously. She spoke in an accent. A British accent maybe? I wasn’t exactly sure. Her weapons appeared as bayonets, only half the size of normal ones, and she had two. “Crap, Joshua’s probably being attacked too..!” I mumbled, running to find him.

I ran across the area and finally found him standing in the middle of a lot of angels with a book. He casually read through it, as the angels exploded, imploded, drowned, got shocked, swallowed by the ground, and all sorts of INSANE things. Was it magic? Probably. He closed his book nonchalantly as all the angels disintegrated into the air. Luxuria and John came by, John staring at her boobs. “Finally someone who wasn’t useless was chosen.” Luxuria mumbled, referring to Joshua. She walked up to him, “I’m starting to like this kid.” She said, patting his head. “Don’t pat me. I’m not a pet…” Joshua responded with a growl. She ignored him and walked ahead ready to kill. She blasted and stabbed many angels without breaking a sweat. “How….can you kill so many just like that..?” I asked her. “Ever heard of those demon hunter stories? You could say…I am an angel hunter. The angels haven’t exactly been very angelic lately. They just bring even more chaos. Soon enough the world will be in deeper shit than ever before. I wonder what’s going on between the Creator and the Destroyer.” She responded as the angels ceased spawning. “Isaac, John, Joshua, Luxuria. There are more chosen ones in this world you must still find. Your journey to find and defeat the Gods, Titans, and Monsters begins…now. Two are together, defending each other. One has yet to even be attacked. Another has an entire crew to fight as well. Five are each battling the lesser Monsters. Isaac, John….the both of you should retrieve your weapons somewhere. Follow Joshua Akira. He knows much more than it looks like.” That voice ringed in my head but everyone else heard it too. I turned to Joshua, “Well then, where should we go?” He began to walk, “Let’s head to my dormitory for now, I guess I’ll have to explain everything I know. But…there are so many things I’m still clueless on.” He said as we followed him.

A few minutes later, we arrived to his dorm. It was clean and organized, full of books and papers, no television or games that most people his age wouldn’t live without. Two pets roamed around the room, one dog and one cat. They weren’t fighting and were clearly well trained. “Nice place.” I told Joshua. “Seems so dull and boring to me…” John muttered as I punched his shoulder. Joshua turned to John, “When my parents were still alive, I never had ‘fun’ of any kind. I studied and researched, read and wrote, all my life. Books were pretty much all I used. My life has been different from yours, you shouldn’t criticize.” He explained to him. I was surprised. He just gave out so much information about himself to us. His parents are dead, and he was never able to do anything meaningful or fun. It was sad, for having only eleven years of life so far. He quickly grabbed a book from a shelf, one on the Creator and the Destroyer, apparently titled Light and Darkness: Creation and Destruction. He grabbed more: Balance and Chaos, Chaos within Light and Darkness, Lexicon of Magic and Power, Greek Mythological Characters and Creatures, The Gods of Light, The Titans of Darkness, The Monsters of Chaos, and four more in Latin: Trinitate Sacrificii, Trinitatem Renovamen, Trinatem Imprecantes, and Trinitate of Vicis. The Latin books weren’t exactly completely legible to any of us. “Those Latin ones…there’s something about them. I found out there are only few books of its kind.” Joshua told us. He opened all the English books and scanned through them all. He began to explain what he knew from reading them all. “These books told me a lot about this world. I’ll try to make it simpler. The Gods symbolize the world’s light, and the Titans symbolize the world’s darkness. If either of the two are greater in any way…Chaos is born, even if light is the one to win. The Chaos takes form as Monsters. The Monsters can be killed under normal circumstances, but if one were to kill a deity of the overwhelming force, one Monster would die. In this sense, the Monsters could NEVER be killed last. Apparently the deaths of Gods and Titans in respective orders are very significant, but it was never specified as to why. Our world is currently overwhelmed by darkness. I can accurately assume the five heroes previously assigned to this quest are referred to as the ‘Greek Heroes’ as they are taking down Gods, Titans and Monsters in the stories. Unfortunately, I was unable to translate the Latin books.” Joshua explained very sophisticatedly. “I’m sorry what?” John asked, stupidly. Joshua sighed, walked ahead, and grabbed a large book, only to end up throwing it at John. “That one’s old anyways.” He smirked. “That’s all. Let’s leave.” Joshua said, feeding his pets.

Chapter 3: The First Triumphs

“…Ouch…” John muttered and groaned, as he rubbed his head. “Let’s go, then.” I began to walk out the dormitory, towards a volcano. “I hear there’s a master blacksmith there.” The others followed. Joshua brought along another book to read on the way. The Holy and Magical: Legendary Weapons and Artifacts. What a bookworm.

After several dreadful hours, we had made it to the blacksmith shop on the volcano. John and I asked for our weapons, I wanted a Flamberge one-handed sword, and John asked for a large, two-handed Claymore, both swords. Joshua would rely on magic and Luxuria had her bayonets. After even more dreadful hours, we departed from the blacksmith, Joshua stopping at the exit. “Thanks…Hephaestus.” He glared at the blacksmith sharply. “This man is a god. Isaac, John, Luxuria, I assume it’s our job to get rid of him…” He said with a raspy, sad voice. He clearly didn’t want to kill anyone. “You don’t understand. I have no choice of stopping the Titans or Monsters. But I shall fight. Not alone!” Hephaestus summoned a war hammer, and I felt an incredible rumble in the ground. “Wait…we don’t exactly WANT to fight-“ I was cut off as he attacked me and John guarded with his claymore. I heard a roar outside the shop and the ground was still rumbling. “Of course! He teamed up…with one of both the Titans and Monsters! Joshua ran outside, straight in front of a humongous colossus. It was the Titan Gaea. John and I ran outside towards the roar, to see a deadly Minotaur. It was time for the fight of my life! That left Luxuria with Hephaestus. “You remind me of my wife, Aphrodite. But why? You are most certainly…different.” Hephaestus spoke to her. I heard her reply, but couldn’t make out what she said.

Not long after, we were all in vicious battles. Atop a volcano, John and I fought with a Minotaur who saw us as dinner. Poor Joshua though, fending off a colossal Titan, although, with magic, he was the most capable. Luxuria and Hephaestus fought a close battle, blade against hammer close-up and bullets flying towards Hephaestus at range. The Minotaur charged at me swiftly, I dodged quickly, but was still scraped by his horns, straight on my chest. I grunted and fell, bleeding a lot. John ran towards the Minotaur recklessly, but effectively. His large weapon wounded even its horns.

Elsewhere, Joshua cast incredible magical abilities, clearly showing off and not even giving Gaea a momentum of a chance to attack him. His lightning would pierce through the Titan’s earthen skin, the flames burned its flesh, and the ice trapped Gaea’s huge legs from moving with dozens of icy stalagmites. The air kept Joshua agile and blurry to Gaea. Joshua was at an extreme advantage. His favorite element was water, but there was none around so he decided to conjure plasma. The plasma was sent to Gaea’s very eyes, preventing vision. Surprisingly quick, the Titan…was defeated. It disintegrated into the air.

Blasting, slashing and smashing occurred everywhere in Luxuria’s battle. “Gods are so fragile.” Luxuria was winning. She continuously shot Hephaestus, and then dashed up to him, stabbing him, always when Hephaestus least expected it. He swung his mighty hammer at Luxuria, and she quickly prevented it, by slicing the war hammer right off its own handle. “You lose, Hephaestus.” She pointed a bayonet’s blade at Hephaestus, triumphant. “Now I know...why you’re named…Luxuria.” Hephaestus stated as he disintegrated.

I clenched my wound, watching the even match between John and the Minotaur. I noticed Joshua walk up to me, with a green aura in his hand. It left his hand and traveled towards me…relieving the pain I had. He then sent a small gust of wind to me, temporarily sealing the wound to prevent further blood loss. “Let John and I handle this one.” Joshua told me. He sent a small shard of ice to distract the Minotaur as John slashed at it. Joshua then blasted it with many jolts of lightning continuously, akin to a ‘Sith Lord.’ I felt so useless. I did nothing meaningful in these fights. Joshua blasted the lightning all at once to the Minotaur. He looked away as it flew to John as he slashed it, killing and disintegrating the Minotaur. Well, that made me feel much more useless.

“Isaac, on the way here I read on legendary weapons. There are a few interesting toys you and John may like. Excalibur, the legendary holy blade of light is one. Ragnarok is another, it’s what I’m interested in…an average sword that enhances magical capabilities. Masamune, that’s the extremely long and sharp katana. Gungir, the ultimate spear of a former god, Odin. Then there’s Yoichinoyumi, a legendary bow with a seemingly endless quiver of powerful arrows. Also, there are the dual pistols with unlimited ammunition, Drakle and Elkard. And of course…the Ring of Creation, a ring that can transform into weapons of any kind.” Joshua explained. That ring…it was interesting. “Thanks, Joshua. I’ll look into it.” I responded. “Thanks…for helping me back there too. You really saved my ***.” “Heh, don’t worry it was nothing.” Joshua’s expression became more serious. “Isaac. I told you what happened to me…and I’m almost positive something happened to you in the past, as well. Would you mind…telling me?” Joshua asked. I was shocked. He was right, and he just saved me from bleeding to death, so…I suppose it’s the least I could do.

“Uh…sure.” I started to speak rather silently, almost a whisper. “I don’t know how I remember…I wasn’t even able to be fully conscious of my actions or environment. But anyways, I was lying down on a couch, my parents were arguing with my uncle. Both my parents stated that it was the will of the Creator to tribute me. My uncle argued that it was the Destroyer’s manipulation. It went on for a while, my uncle fought with my father, as my mother came to stab me to death. Several seconds from certain death, an angel appeared. He shined an aura of golden light on me, and I was protected. The knife stopped midway to my neck and the aura was impenetrable, at least it seemed that way. My uncle raised me after, and then he sent me to the school. When I got here, it was reported that not just my parents, but my entire family were all found dead.” Joshua made a slight nod and worded, ‘I won’t tell anyone, promise.’ Luxuria walked to us, now. “Good job, boys, I didn’t have to save you all this time. As for you though, Isaac, Joshua came to save your ass.” She scoffed, mildly embarrassing me.

Chapter 4: Trouble brews in the North…and West. And East.

“Are we gonna have to start skipping school now?” John asked. “Probably, I mean I find saving Earth more significant than Math.” I replied. “As much as I’d miss out there, I’m afraid we’d have to skip it. At least until everything is done, but that may take a while.” Joshua said. I heard and felt my stomach violently rumble, as if it hadn’t eaten in weeks. I guess I was exhausted and hungry. “Hey, let’s go eat somewhere!” I said, moaning of hunger. John nodded, “Hell yeah! I’m starvin’!” Joshua shrugged and agreed to follow, along with Luxuria.

~Elsewhere, in the West~

“I’m STARVING! Can I eat now, Sin? MMMM….maybe even one of those tasty chosen humans..!” A man asked. He was quite childish, and always with a ravenous hunger. He had large, orange eyes and hardly any black hair. His teeth were sharp and huge, his stomach was round and fat, and his tongue was thick enough to be a made of wood. “Oh Gluttony, your so damn selfish aren’t you? And they called ME Greed!” A man named Greed responded sarcastically. He had average yellow eyes, and was a tad skinny. He had long black hair and bangs which covered his right eye. “Eating…too much…work. Can…I rest now, Master…Sin?” A ginormous man told to someone named Sin. Despite his laziness, he was unusually very muscular, but he was slow and rather moronic. He had large light blue eyes, which appeared almost closed due to him being so lazy and tired. “Be my guest, Glutttony. You can go now. Sloth…you have work to do, I don’t need you slacking off.” Sin replied to Gluttony and Sloth. “Ughh….okay….can I…go rest after?” Sloth asked as he trudged out of the room.

~South, with Isaac~

About an hour later, we finally ended up eating. Although, Joshua did pay for the food. I guess he was some kind of rich kid. Anyways, I was eating a delicious pizza in the restaurant. John had the same, and Joshua was eating a large plate of spaghetti. Luxuria didn’t eat, something about wanting to stay thin. Despite how good the food was, the area felt so…ominous.

~Far to the East~

“So, then…someone is plotting to activate the Trinity of Sacrifice? Over at Europe, as well. Interesting. This will be fun. Call in sir Gilgamesh.” A silver and gold-robed man said. He was the current emperor of the majority of Asia. He had strange green eyes, and long golden hair. Naturally black, but dyed not blonde, but a shining gold. “Yes, Emperor Xianliang.” A servant replied bowing, and then calling in a man named Gilgamesh. “Gilgamesh. Have you found the ring you have been searching so long for? Excalibur? Ragnarok? Masamune? Have you found anything at all..?” “No, but in due time-“ “Due time? I’m wondering why I allowed you the Genji armor you wear now. This is your last chance. For once, Gilgamesh, do not fail your emperor…your country! This better be the last time I am forced to scold a warrior like yourself. You are dismissed, leave now Gilgamesh.”

~Over in the North of Europe~

“Yes, Isaac. You, Joshua, and John are all working splendidly. Soon enough, I shall have them sacrifice light, darkness and chaos! I…shall become the Creator!” A man said. The same man who ‘chose’ Isaac, Joshua, John and the others. He had extremely pale skin, and had two eyes of different colors. One was red and another was blue. He had slightly above average amount of hair, and it was all combed back, and was a pure, snowy white. He was clothed in a long golden and white robe with black outlining. “Vergil, brother…would you mind ensuring that these sins do not destroy my precious humans? They’re FAR too important.” The man turned to the other man named Vergil, a man with similar hair but messier and not combed back. He had the same eyes. “Of course, brother…” He responded bluntly, as he left the extremely high tower they were on. The room they stood in was similar to that of a whole cathedral, but one half with a stained glass window of the Creator and angels, the other with the Destroyer and demons. “I hope I see you again soon…Isaac.” The other man muttered, sitting in a huge throne.

~Back South of Europe~

I finished eating, I was stuffed, as was everyone else, except Luxuria, of course. We walked outside and heard a large rumble, like a stomach. They all looked at me, “That wasn’t me this time.” I told them, hearing an intimidating voice now. “Oooh, there you are! Master said, I can eat you!” He jumped towards us, his jaws wide open. A bit further away, Vergil was coming. “Gluttony? Ugh…how irritating.” Before he went to stop Gluttony, Gluttony was attacked. A spear went straight through his jaw. The man with the spear grabbed his weapon with Gluttony skewered, and spun him like a windmill, finally releasing him for another guy to stab his stomach downwards, this time with a lance. I was amazed these guys were so skilled! “…I’m not needed here, then.” Vergil mumbled and strolled off. The two guys continued teaming up and attacking Gluttony simultaneously and continuously. When they finally ceased temporarily Gluttony cracked his jaw and other broken bones into place. “That’s not fair; I’m supposed to eat you!!” He growled, running to the man with the lance to eat him. “You’ll upset your stomach then.” He smirked, thrusting the lance through his mouth and skewering his tongue. Gluttony groaned in agony, and finally departed, angry and hungry. “Wow, just who are you guys?” John asked eagerly. The man with the spear responded, “I’m Cain, this is my brother, Abel.” “Yeah, that was great! I’ve never seen someone fight so good before!” I exclaimed, looking at Joshua, who was reading now. I wonder what it takes to impress him. Luxuria stayed silent the whole time, right now she was doing her nails. Joshua finally closed his book, after placing a small bookmark in there. “So from what I recall the ‘Creator’ told us about them, correct? Two are together, defending each other. I think you guys will be real helpful additions to this team.” Joshua said, obviously TRYING to act like he’s in awe.

~Back in the West~

Gluttony ran into the room in defeat as Greed spoke. “Yeah, I figured someone’d kick Gluttony’s ass. Say, when do ya think our sister Lust’s gonna try something? It’s been a while.”

Chapter 5: Evil Family Reunion.

John began to yawn, followed by everyone else, due to its strange contagiousness. “Maybe John’s yawning is right, I’m so tired.” I said, to Joshua and John. John nodded, and Joshua said nothing as his eyes were almost completely closed already. “Joshua? How long have you been half-asleep? You’re the one who knows where everything is...!” I yelled, not too loud as I shook him. “Oh…I don’t know, maybe we should just…rest here.” He said as he fell back on the grass, tired. Joshua ended up using his magic as resources for us to sleep. There was a warm fire, and a floating aura of water for us to drink out of. He made small beds out of grass, for the top of the bed, and used dirt and rocks as the bottom of it. We ended up as cozy as bunnies in a warm house. Joshua slept as a little ball over in the corner, Luxuria slept farther from Joshua since he wanted to be alone. John lied there too, happy to be next to her. Cain slept not on a bed, but up in a few random branches of a big tree. Abel slept at the bottom of the tree, and that left me sleeping between John and Abel, about under Cain.

We slept for a good 5 hours until we heard loud steps and heavy breathing. Cain, Abel, Luxuria and I quickly woke up, as opposed to John and Joshua, both knocked out like a light. “Brother, who is that?” Abel asked Cain. “I wouldn’t know. But I’m sure he’s not a pleasant fellow.” Cain responded. “Sloth…too tired to fight. Maybe…I can…just fight here.” Sloth fell back on the floor purposefully, when his own body connected to the ground. The ground became less, but still really rough and turned to the color of Sloth’s skin! The entire area was a decently light shade of skin and muscle. “Sloth…too tired to even…sit.” From underneath us the ground or Sloth’s skin attacked us as feet and hands. Abel grabbed Cain, throwing him upwards as he fell towards Sloth with his spear downward. The spear clashed with Sloth’s skin, but nothing happened at all. “Sloth…don’t like to feel pain. It too tiring…” Sloth mumbled, knocking off Cain with his actual arm. “Brother!” Abel yelled as he dashed across the area, avoiding Sloth’s sluggish attacks. “Well I can’t just do nothing…” I charged towards Sloth with my flamberge sword, only to be kicked away by an extra limb. I landed near Joshua and John as Abel attacked Sloth.

“John, Joshua, wake up!” I yelled shaking both of them. Joshua jolted upwards and John slowly yawned and got up. “Another Sin?” Joshua asked. “Yeah, this time it’s Sloth.” I responded. Joshua prepared himself with magic and ran towards Sloth as John grabbed his claymore.

“Heya there, sis.” Another man said to Luxuria, as he kicked her. “Greed…” She responded. Greed turned his right arm into what looked like stone. “Gotta make the act convincing, eh?” Greed smirked as he attacked Luxuria. Luxuria quickly grabbed her bayonets and blasted Greed as he blocked with his stone arm. About to slice his normal arm, Greed quickly transformed it into some type of metal. “That all ya got?” He smirked again, attacking.

Joshua and Abel teamed up, Joshua enhancing Abel’s lance with flames to hurt Sloth even more. “Wait...” Joshua stopped, talking to himself. “I see. Sloth’s skin is merely over the ground. Perfect.” Joshua quickly used the ground to his major advantage, making the earth transform into many stalagmites, stabbing Sloth’s extra skin and Sloth himself. “I feeling…pain…what a pain.” Sloth mumbled, now standing up. “I have to walk now…how tiring…” Joshua shot a bolt of lightning towards Sloth, but he didn’t budge. “This one seems to have more defense than Gluttony.” Joshua repeatedly cast his lightning magic, hoping to do something.

I began to charge towards Greed who had just recently appeared. My sword clashed with his metal, no one leaving a dent on each other. Both his arms now became concrete, slamming my jaw upwards after. Greed’s arms both became metal as he saw John coming. The claymore was a powerful sword, but Greed knocked it away. Greed was just about to throw a punch at the defenseless John until I stepped into the fray. I quickly blocked his attack as Luxuria stabbed Greed. His leg became stone as he kicked Luxuria from behind him. He grabbed her and ran further away. “As much stuff I wanna do to you, I’mma have to go now. See ya, Lust.” Greed told Lust, or Luxuria as he left. “Isaac still doesn’t know. It’s good Greed didn’t spoil that to them.” Lust said. “Come on Sloth, let’s go rest.” Greed told Sloth as he strolled away. “No…more work..? How…nice…Greed…” Sloth mumbled, as he trudged away. Luxuria walked towards us calmly, as angels began to shine down on us. “Angels again.” I mumbled preparing myself to fight this time around. Unlike last time, the angels swarmed out quickly rather than gracefully and elegantly gliding. There was a lot more this time.

John and I quickly got into battle stances waiting for the angels to come down, as opposed to everyone else already attacking. Luxuria began to shoot the angels as she ran to avoid their attacks. Joshua was calmly and effectively casting extreme spells. Cain and Abel both seemed like acrobatic fighters, both fighting with aerial combat like professionals. They jumped from tree to tree and jumped even higher to stab the angels down. Angels began to swarm John like locusts, but he caught them all with his huge claymore and disintegrated them. They began to fly towards me as I was now prepared, until Luxuria jumped in the way to blast and stab more to death. “Hey, what the hell?! I can fight now!” I yelled as she left for the angels to attack me now. “Alright then, baby gets his bottle.” She scoffed. I was then right about to slice an angel until it disintegrated. I looked to see an arrow in front of me. “Oh come on!! What now?” I complained as arrows fired down on the angels. A young girl dropped down seemingly from the sky, firing arrows to dozens of angels. She seemed Japanese by appearance but not by clothing. She had light skin, brown eyes and brunette hair, wearing a simple black dress with thin white rims on the bottom. A surprising outfit to wear while fighting, actually. As the angels fell down disintegrating, she turned to me, smiling. “Hello. Sorry to intrude, but after seeing these angels, I was sure more chosen ones would be around. Oh my bad, my name’s Hannah.” She said rather kindly, as opposed to Luxuria who greeted us intimidatingly.

John, Luxuria, Cain and Abel came to see who had killed all those angels, leaving Joshua to finish the job. “Thanks, guys…” He mumbled, boiling the water within the clouds and dropping them onto the angels, leaving third-degree burns before they would disintegrate. “Hello Hannah.” I responded, politely since she did the same. “That was great, Hannah.” “Yeah you really taught those angels a lesson or two.” Cain remarked, followed by Abel. “Thanks, guys.” She smiled. “You deserve it. You could stay with us, Hannah.” John offered as Joshua walked towards us, fairly annoyed. “Well, of course! We’re all chosen ones, we have to stick together! Right?” Hannah exclaimed happily. Joshua walked up, looking slightly up at Hannah. Hannah was young, but still older than Joshua. Most likely around fourteen. “Aww, you’re such a cute little boy.” She giggled, patting his head. Rather than getting angry as usual, he just blushed a little bit and turned away to hide it. Luckily for him, it went away quickly and he greeted himself. “Hannah, right? My name’s Joshua Akira.” He muttered in response. John and Luxuria looked at him, about to laugh. “Who are we going to try to kill now so I can find out where they are?” Joshua asked to quickly change the subject. John just made a mild chuckle, looking as if he’d burst in laughter.

Chapter 6: Sword Training with a Master?

After John was able to calm down, we went back to our spots where we slept, exhausted but not so much tired. We rested a while, and then decided to go out into the city. “At the rate we’re going, the Gods, Titans and Monsters are going to destroy the world…shouldn’t we have this go a bit…faster?” Joshua asked us. “Well, it would take an awful long time to destroy or take over the world, even for them. I’m sure we have more than enough time to do so. Not to mention there are five people like us who are already fighting the Monsters. We mainly have to worry of the Gods and Titans.” “Yeah dude, just lighten up and relax. No need to always be so tense on this.” Abel responded, followed by John. “However, I am concerned about Isaac and John. It seems as though Abel and I have gone through proper training for combat, atleast with our specific weapons. Joshua uses magic excellently, Luxuria is extremely versatile with her bayonets, and I’m also unsure of Hannah’s fighting experience.” Cain scoffed, wanting us to answer back at him. “Well no, John and I haven’t really had any training or…well, anything. We just fight as best we can…” “Well, back in Japan I’ve taken plenty of classes and tournaments in archery, I don’t really need to fight close up though.” I said, before Hannah replied as well. “In that case, you and John need to take a few lessons while we’re here.” Cain said, death glaring John and I.

Searching for a sparring class, we were reluctantly able to find one. It was at a park, with a building in the center of it. John and I signed up as Joshua and Cain paid for our training weapons. We both got our respective flamberge and claymore swords, just wooden. Eventually we got to our lessons and the master showed up. “So you two must be Isaac and John, my two new students. I hope you enjoy it here. You can call me Ira.” The master said. Ira was a middle-aged man, probably around forty years old. An eye patch covered his right eye, and he wore a single contact on his left eye, making it look brown. He wore a brown suit that covered most of him and had short black hair, with just a tiny amount of white hair. “Well then, before we start the actual teachings, I have to see how you two fight now. It simply gives me hints on how to train you.” He said as he unsheathed two intimidating twin rapiers. They were REAL rapiers too, not wooden. He dashed at us with his rapiers, surprisingly agile for his age. John and I were barely able to evade as we were so startled. He dashed at us again swinging his blades. Our clothes would be occasionally torn and our skin would begin to bleed but no major gashes ever came out in this battle. We were still unable to attack him; then again, our weapons were wooden. He sliced both our weapons with ease and kicked us to the ground. Afterwards, he simply laughed. “Hahaha, so it seems evasion is something you’re not very fond of!” He sheathed his weapons and handed us more wooden swords as he got his own. He then began to properly train us. Evasion, guarding, stabbing, thrusting, slashing, countering, and more began to etch themselves into our minds.

Several weeks had past, John and I were far from true masters, but we were now classified as experts. After our final lesson had ended, we walked out into the park, unaware of our master conversing with someone else. A fat man emerged from behind a door. “Ah, Gluttony. You’ve rejuvenated from your last battle it seems.” Ira said to Gluttony. “Yeah, but you can kill ‘em Wrath! And then…I can eat them!” Gluttony exclaimed. “Indeed, Gluttony. However, I shan’t act upon this so quickly. Our time to fight will arise merely in a few hours. A few others will be starting the fun. You can stay here for the entertainment, Gluttony. Master Sin is sending a lot of action here.” Ira or Wrath stated to Gluttony.

~Up in the North of Europe~

“Vergil, brother. An immensely large battle will take place. Two sins are already there, and I can sense much more. Let’s see here…there will be: two Olympian Gods, SIXTEEN MONSTERS, AND TEN TITANS..! Vergil…this is not a battle that they should be against at once, someone else has some control. I’m afraid I have to send you and some angels to keep them safe.” The man said to Vergil. “It must be someone in charge of the Seven Deadly Sins.” He mumbled, calling upon angels to Vergil’s aid.

~Back South~

John and I strolled through and sat at the park, waiting for Joshua and the others to arrive. “Do you…feel anything, Isaac?” John asked me. “Yeah…something is…off. And very ominous…” I heard so many things coming now. They began to show themselves. There were two siblings, one male and one female, both with silver bows and arrows along with a plethora of animals. Ranging from deer to bears, rams to tigers, there were too many to count. Sixteen Monsters crawled out from the trees and flew from the skies, all growling or hissing. Ten immense colossi materialized, unusually silent. John and I shivered in complete fear. Would we die here? It was quiet…but soon enough, we both knew…all hell would break loose.

Joshua and the others quickly noticed and got here quickly as Joshua formed a plan. “We might die here. But…we have to try. Hannah, you and I will fight the two gods and the animals.” He turned to the Gods and muttered, “Artemis…and Apollo.” Now looking at the Monsters he whispered to Luxuria. “You should fight the Monsters. Empousa, and two Gorgons Stheno and Euryale. Three Harpies…four Cyclopes, the Furies, Sphinx, Manticore, and Chimera.” He then whispered to John and I, as well as Cain and Abel. “Cain, Abel, you both can help Isaac and John to getting near the Titans’ faces to attack. I’ll help with them as soon as possible…do your best to survive!” Joshua finished as everyone was silent. Suddenly everything began to move and we were all on our way to clashing in our most intense and life threatening battle yet. Light shined down as we all ran, and angels appeared flying, but towards the Titans. They were assisting us in the battle! Soon enough, someone else came as well. “First off, I’m Vergil. That’s all you need to know for now aside from me helping your ***es!” Vergil yelled at us, taking out a blood-red and black scythe as he charged towards the Monsters with Luxuria. “Come on then John, Isaac!” Cain yelled at us as he and Abel charged towards the Titans after the angels.

Chapter 7: Battle for Life or Death!

We all attacked our enemies. The Titans simply grunted as Cain and Abel launched John and I onto the Titans in order for us to scale and climb them. They, however, ran up the Titans like a flat road, jumping all over the place and attacking the Titans directly on their heads, one by one. The angels continuously flew in attacking them randomly, but occasionally getting swatted away like pests. I made it to the shoulder and stabbed it downwards causing the Titan Themis to grunt and wail in pain, disintegrating after angels swarmed its face and killed it. Abel jumped across from the Titan Thea as the angels did the same as before, causing Thea to disintegrate. Abel caught me and brought me to the ground from falling. Cain was defeating the Titan Iapetus with ease. Iapetus eventually fell back before disintegrating. Cain jumped to Crius, the Titan John was currently fighting. John was surprisingly able to slice off the fingers of Crius as the Titan was about to grab him. Crius managed to push John off with its palm. Cain barely grabbed him and threw him upwards at the Titan Epimetheus, quickly decapitating it as it disintegrated, while Cain stabbed through Crius’ eye, ultimately disintegrating it. Most of the angels swarmed all around the Titan Prometheus, disabling it from moving and eventually having it disintegrate, not before many angels were destroyed though. Cain, Abel, John and I all got to one Titan, Coeus. John sliced it from its ankles, causing it to easily fall. I stabbed a shoulder to prevent a counter attack, and Cain did the same on the other Shoulder. Coeus fell, leaving Abel striking from the ground, but still to its face. Abel’s lance pierced through it as it disintegrated. That still left three.

Luxuria and Vergil charged towards the Monsters without fear. The Harpies and Furies quickly glided to Luxuria, Luxuria handling all six of them herself. “Luxxxxuria…I wonder how long you can keep the act?” The Harpies hissed at her. “I’ve always hated all you Monsters. No big deal at all!” Luxuria smirked stabbing the bayonets through two of the Harpies, them both disintegrating. All the other Monsters stampeded Vergil. First the Manticore and four Cyclopes reached him. Vergil swiftly stabbed the scythe in a Cyclops’ eye and tossed him at the Manticore before the Cyclops disintegrated. The Manticore was then quickly sliced as it staggered from being hit. “Too easy. I should’ve just have gotten the Titans instead.” Vergil smirked, decapitating the remaining three Cyclopes ruthlessly. Luxuria dug her heel into the last Harpy’s mouth and kicked it into the air as the Harpy screamed in agony, all before blasting it to smithereens, and beginning to shoot the Furies. The Furies also began to wail in pain, and flew towards Luxuria with their claws ready. As done before, Luxuria stabbed two of them, but then back flipped away from the third as the first two disintegrated. Luxuria pointed the barrel at the Fury. “You don’t **** with me.” She scoffed, pulling the trigger as it disintegrated. Vergil easily sliced the heads of the Gorgons, and bisected the Sphinx vertically. Vergil attempted at slashing the Chimera, but one of its heads bit the scythe, knocking it away from Vergil after. “You’re annoying, aren’t you?” Vergil quickly dashed around the Chimera and ripped off its snake tail. Luxuria saw the Chimera and blasted it many times as Vergil was weapon-less. With her heel she caught the Empousa who attempted to grab her from behind. Luxuria tossed it aside and blasted the Chimera once more as Vergil grabbed his scythe and sliced it several times, crushing the severed snake head. Luxuria turned to stab the Empousa, and she did so several times extremely swift. The Empousa disintegrated, leaving all the current Monsters vanquished. “My, my, there’s quite an event going on isn’t there, my students?” Wrath asked, walking up to John and I. “Ira! It’s not safe here! You should go, please!” I exclaimed. “Ira? Oh, hahaha. Dear boy, that’s just an alias. He took off his eye patch and contact, revealing his dark red eyes. “I…am Wrath!” Wrath stated boldly, unsheathing his rapiers and rushing towards us only to be blocked by Vergil. “Continue with the Titans, Isaac! I’ll handle him!” Vergil yelled. Luxuria ran to aid Vergil as well, only to be interrupted by Gluttony. “Lust?” He whispered. “Quiet Gluttony, go fight that man now.” Luxuria whispered back to Gluttony as he ran slowly to Vergil. “Gluttony and Wrath. What a strange duo.” Vergil mumbled as he attacked.

Elsewhere, Joshua began firing magic constantly at the dozens and dozens of beasts. Joshua chained lightning across several of them and began to rain orbs of fire down from the sky. “How did they all know we were here?!” He mumbled to himself, casting pillars of earth upwards. “These guys are good! I can hardly shoot them!” Hannah exclaimed, somehow happily as she fired about five arrows at a time towards Apollo and Artemis. They all ran across the area as they fired, jumping on and off trees as the go along. “Sister, she’s an amazing ranger. It’s a shame we must put an end to her, isn’t it?” Apollo asked Artemis. “Indeed. She makes a fine huntress, especially at such a young age.” Artemis remarked, firing an arrow that missed by an inch. “Woah there!” Hannah stated startled, as three arrows pierced Apollo. “Damn kid…” He mumbled, before imploding and then exploding immediately afterwards. “Joshua! You made it!” Hannah yelled out to Joshua, whom had just destroyed Apollo. “Yeah…Hannah hang in there, I’m still getting mauled by these darn animals!” Joshua yelled in response, firing an electric wave from him on outwards, literally shocking many animals to death. A tiger attempted to pounce him, but Joshua immediately noticed and shot lightning through its jaw. “Time to finish these guys…” Joshua mumbled casting a high-class spell. The air surrounding each and every animal against him began to twirl, twist, push and pull with very short intervals and at an extreme pace. The animals ended up being ripped apart, crushed, or stretched to death. Joshua then began running towards Artemis and Hannah. “You are such an amazing huntress, Hannah. It’s pitiful that you can never reach into my league…” Artemis scoffed proudly, only to be shot with an arrow through her shoulder afterwards, not expecting it. “I never liked lectures, but thanks for complimenting me!” Hannah exclaimed as Artemis fell to her knees in pain, unable to use her arms to shoot. Joshua ran to the scene, and stopped seeing Artemis defeated. “I’m sorry.” He muttered to himself, before finishing Artemis off with fire. Artemis disintegrated into the nearby air, and Joshua turned glaring at the remaining Titans.

Cain, John, Abel and I once again stormed another Titan, Phoebe. Cain threw John up in the air to behead the Titan. Phoebe was able to stop it in the act, and simplistically flicked Cain away, causing internal bleeding. John, slightly in the air was grabbed and nearly crushed until Abel and I came in, me slicing the fingers and Abel thrusting his lance through the palm. As John broke free, he began to fall down; now aiming at Phoebe’s other hand. The hand was soon chopped off, and it broke John’s fall, still damaging him a lot. Abel quickly jumped to Phoebe’s head, stabbing it downwards as the Titan disintegrated. As we neared the ground, I was somehow gently set down rather than crashing into it, killing me. The same with Abel too, it was Joshua! He caught us simply with his wind magic, and he then turned to the other two Titans. Rhea almost instantaneously disintegrated as Joshua used earth magic to crush it with giant hand-like pieces of land. Now looking up we saw the angels repeatedly striking Uranus, the last Titan that was here. It was the only one in the air too. Uranus sent a shockwave of wind outwards, killing all the nearby angels, until a small orb of intense heat centered the Titan. I looked over to see Joshua, using one of his longest yet most powerful spell he could muster at the moment. Beams of fire randomly appeared in the air, soon flowing to the small orb. The orb grew, grew, and grew until it the size of the Titan and exploded in an incinerating flare! Immediately after…Joshua had fainted of exhaustion.

Vergil clashed with both Gluttony and Wrath, not breaking a sweat. The twin rapiers cut Vergil several times but he ignored it. The blade of the scythe pierced Gluttony’s tongue and mouth, Vergil swinging Gluttony like a windmill, grinning at the blood that sprayed him. “Is that all for Gluttony?!” Vergil smirked as he slammed Gluttony like the top of a sledgehammer, with him attached to the scythe. Gluttony moaned in pain, and Wrath took over the fight. Wrath was extremely agile for his age, acting much swifter than his sparring with John and I. Wrath was eventually able to stab Vergil, not with one rapier, but with both. Vergil coughed blood and grinned. “Demons are so…fun.” He muttered as he launched his scythe to Wrath’s neck. Wrath seemingly froze in place, and the blade of the scythe broke as it hit Wrath. Wrath smirked, “I’m afraid nothing can pierce past my body’s shield! Whenever I so please…I am able to harden my skin, flesh, and even my blood!” Wrath got up and began strolling away. “Let’s go Gluttony. We can’t stay here forever.” Wrath told Gluttony. “What? B-but can’t I eat someone first?!” Gluttony complained. “No, Gluttony! I’ve been meaning to put you on a diet…” Wrath scolded Gluttony. Gluttony got up and followed Wrath away from the area.

I ran to Joshua, Cain, and John, whom were all wounded. We began to look for safety as I lifted John up. Hannah and Abel did the same for Joshua and Cain, respectively. Luxuria simply walked, at least carrying our weapons. We didn’t end up walking very far, but we still managed to find a nice spot behind a restaurant. With smooth grass, and a few nice trees. Hannah, Abel and I all set Joshua, Cain, and John down as we all began to rest again, before I had just realized…Vergil was nowhere in sight. Regardless, I was exhausted, as was everyone else. We simply…slept.

Chapter 8: The Seeker of Legends and the Thief of Legends…

I woke up, seemingly early in the morning, yawning and stretching. I began to think, (So…Vergil’s gone. I wonder who he- wait…) Cain was gone now too. Strange though, Abel was still here. “Cain? Cain, where are you?” I asked around the area. There was no response, but I knew he was still wounded from that battle. I went to Abel and shook him. “Hey Abel, wake up! Do you know where your brother Cain is?” I asked him softly. His eyes slowly opened, clearly still rather drowsy. “Brother is…missing..?” He asked me. I suppose he doesn’t know. Maybe Cain will come back soon, who knows? “I guess so, he’s not here. Well he’ll probably be back soon; maybe he went to get some food or something.” I said, still wondering why he’d leave without Abel; he never left like that before.

~Elsewhere~

Cain jumped through a nearby window and landed in an alleyway, standing by another figure. “Who are you?” Cain asked bluntly, his spear ready for battle. The other man was large and had an arsenal of weapons, practically one for each kind. A bow and quiver of arrows latched to his shoulder, a katana at his side, a broadsword attached to his back, a pistol in a belt’s socket, a dagger an another socket, a lance and spear as an ‘X’ shape on his back as well, a miniature axe on his right leg, and a short scythe blade latched on his right arm, close to the bow. “Who am I? WHO AM I?! How can you not recognize the one and only weapon-master, the seeker of legends, the amazingly great, GILGAMESH?!” Gilgamesh exclaimed quite loudly and annoyingly. Cain made a boring expression towards him and began to stroll away. “How dare you ignore the great Gilgamesh! I’ll have you skewered like a shrimp! I’ll be taking your weapon now.” Gilgamesh exclaimed again. “Well then, oh so great Gilgamesh. Take my spear…pry it from my cold dead hands.” Cain scoffed, directing Gilgamesh to attack.

Gilgamesh unsheathed his katana and charged. “You’re gonna be sorry for messing with a legend!” The spear and katana clashed. Cain dug his spear into the ground and used it to grab onto and drop-kick Gilgamesh away. Gilgamesh grabbed his pistol and shot a few rounds, all dodged by Cain who’s wounds began to get the better of him. Cain grunted and fell to one knee as Gilgamesh grabbed his broadsword and charged again. “A new fighter now? Hmph, keep Cain alive, Greed.” A man muttered farther away. “Will do, but what’s so special ‘bout ‘em?” Greed responded, transforming his arms and legs into a powerful carbon fiber. “He may have the great qualities of Wrath when pushed to the edge.” The man responded. It was Sin. “Which is a perfect experiment for me.” Sin replied again. “Eh, whatever floats your boat old man.” Greed responded, taking off for Gilgamesh. A silhouette appeared and the weapons Gilgamesh had previously used were gone in a flash. Greed stopped, “Hey now, Gilgamesh was my job.” Greed remarked sarcastically. “Ah, a god. Okay then, fair enough. I still got Gil-guy.” Greed ran after Gilgamesh, who’s pistol and broadsword disappeared.

“What the hell just happened? Fine, I still got my katana!” Gilgamesh charged after Cain, only to be interrupted by Greed. “Sorry freak show, I’m takin over.” Greed flipped to the side after grabbing Gilgamesh, and kicked him from the side of his face. “Heheh sorry for any injuries.” Greed remarked again, as the godly silhouette took every weapon of Gilgamesh’s except the katana. “Better make the time to escape…” Cain muttered, limping. Sin finally showed himself, right now to Cain. “Your heart. It’s so…dark. Heheh, I love it.” Shadowy tendrils wrapped around Cain and then unwrapped just as fast. Cain looked upon Sin who now looked exactly like Cain! The armor, the face, he even has an identical weapon now. “Don’t worry, you’re still Cain, I’m just a copy of your body.” Sin scoffed. “Come on Greed.” He exclaimed. Cain took the time now and fled, just as Gilgamesh got up startled. “Woah. Looks like I need to search for weapons again. The emperor would kill me!”

~Isaac~

“Hmm. Well he better look for him, we probably have enough rest now.” I told Abel, before waking everyone else up. “Let’s get a move on.” Abel said, as we all walked away looking for a new city. Joshua and John seemed to be mostly healed now, but their wounds were still there, and only about a third of the pain was there too. They continued walking regardless. “So then there are the Gods, Titans and Monsters we need to defeat, huh?” I asked the group. “Apparently so. We’ve only taken down three Gods, which leaves nine more. As for the Titans, we’ve already destroyed eleven and so we need only eight more. I don’t even know what Monsters are left though.” Abel explained. “Exactly right, but we can’t forget the angels and group of Seven Deadly Sins apparently trying to kill us. And who knows if Cain’s seen anyone.” Joshua now explained. “Right. I wonder why we were chosen anyways.” I mumbled, not knowing if anyone else heard it or not. We came across a cliff, and in the short distance we saw a village. A really nice village at that; I could see an instrumental museum and a lot of nice houses. At the cliff we saw a signpost:

Welcome to the city of Marseille, France!

We hope you enjoy your stay.

Population: 1374

“Brussels? We’re really here?” Joshua asked. “Um yeah, why?” I asked him now. “Well I thought we were a lot farther from here. This is where my grandmother lives.” He responded. “Oh cool! We’ll be sure to visit her while we’re here Josh!” I exclaimed, shortening his name to Josh now. We scaled down the cliff cautiously. As we came closer I saw a pier and a man yelling by a ship, “Last call! All aboard for America!!!” He yelled. “They’re going to the new continent from here? Sweet.” John remarked. “All right then boys and girl, we’re here. Now let’s go look for that grand-mommy of Josh’s.” Luxuria commented boldly. We followed her anyways and searched.

Chapter 9: Thievery or Piracy?

We strolled through the village, seeing if Joshua knows where his grandmother is exactly. “So do you know where you’re going little Josh?” Hannah asked Joshua. “Well…I think so. I know she lives here, but we just don’t know where exactly. And DON’T CALL ME LITTLE!” Joshua exclaimed annoyed. “Soooo….you want me to lie about your height? Okay then, you’re SO tall Joshua..!” She exclaimed happily. “Hannah! Just don’t mention my height, period. That shouldn’t be too hard!” Joshua yelled again. “I am terribly sorry for my lack of communication with you. But I am most certainly in your debts. You have all been working splendidly, even the wretched Titans have dwindled in terms of quantity. I shall be ensuring no true harm should come to you. However, I feel as if I must tell you another chosen one is nearby. This one is a captain of a ship, brutally defeating all opponents as well. This captain has never lost a single battle. The captain shall be leaving for the continent of America soon enough. The next ship shall not arrive for around two days, so please, when that time comes, you should rendezvous with the captain and head off for America, several Gods, Titans, and Monsters, await there. The best of luck to you all and be blessed by the balance of the world.” That man- maybe the Creator’s voice ringed in our heads as it spoke. “Captain of a ship is chosen huh? If he’s never lost a battle, then I guess he should be pretty strong! Hopefully we’ll meet him soon then.” I said. “Leaving for America? Well then, that’s sure going to be dreadful.” Luxuria commented. “Which boat do we go off to in two days?” Abel asked, pointing at a board. It showed two ships leaving to America. The Kraken’s Demise and the Marseille Cruise. “The cruise!” Luxuria, Hannah, John and Joshua all said in sync. “Okay, the cruise it is.” We all looked at Joshua now. “Wait- you want ME to pay for this?! I paid for all your food but a cruise..? I don’t have THAT kind of money!!!” Joshua complained. “Well someone needs to pay.” Abel remarked. Joshua replied again, “Well yeah, but I only have enough for one ticket! Two if we don’t have to pay for food.” Joshua mumbled. “Okay then, we should go buy a ticket or two for now and come back later for more!” Hannah suggested. “Fine, but I can’t pay for all of you. Not even three of us.” Joshua mumbled again. “Okay then only three of us will go to the cruise! Me, Luxuria, and I’ll stuff you into a bag like a pet, then Isaac and John can go on the other ship.” Hannah said. “A PET?! I’ll take the other ship better.” Joshua complained again.

Joshua and Hannah continued rambling and yelling in the line until we got to the front, and Joshua paid for two tickets. “How much is it for the Kraken’s Demise?” I asked the man selling tickets. “You wouldn’t wanna go there; it’s practically a pirate ship! If ye really wanna, it’s free so long as you work off your *** the whole way there.” He responded. “Free is good enough, just some chores is nothing! I’ll take four tickets there, please.” I responded as he handed me the tickets muttering, “Good luck kid, you’ll need it.” I held the tickets in the air, “We’re going to America!” Hannah and John yelled, just as a bird swooped down and took the tickets.

“WHAAAT?!?!” I yelled complaining chasing after the bird. “Come on stupid bird! Give me those ****ing tickets!!!” I yelled in frustration. Joshua shot an aura of water towards the bird and boiled it, the tickets then falling down towards me. “Thank goodne-“ I was cut off as a silhouette quickly swooped down and took the tickets again. “WHAT THE HEEELL?! I yelled in even more frustration. The figure flew away, but it didn’t have wings. The figure was humanoid, and apparently a master thief. “Oh ****, this guy’s slick!” John exclaimed, annoyingly happy for whatever reason. Luxuria grabbed her bayonets and shot towards the figure, then followed by Joshua’s and Hannah’s magic and arrows. It was all in vain and we missed. “Come on guys we have to catch him!!” I yelled as I began running again, clearly irritated. They followed. “That man- it must be Hermes, the god of thieves!” Joshua said as we ran. “I don’t care who he is, he’s a ****ing jerk!” I yelled again. We finally spotted him and Luxuria ruthlessly shot his ankles, and he came falling down.

“Good job Luxuria, he flies with his sandals. That’s a pretty stupid way to fly but whatever.” Joshua shot fire at Hermes, followed by arrows and more bullets. Hermes burst from the debris, now with an arsenal of weapons, who knows where he got all that from. He quickly dashed to me with a broadsword and our swords clashed about eight times as he tried to kill me. I was right about to slice him and the next thing I knew he was in the sky firing arrows down on all of us. Most of us dodged and ran but Hannah quickly grabbed her weapon and fired an arrow straight at Hermes. Her arrow pierced straight through one of his, Hermes’ arrow splitting in half as Hermes dodged Hannah’s arrow. Luxuria grabbed her bayonets and rapid fired upwards after he dodged the arrow. Hermes quickly grabbed his pistol and fired bullets at the exact opposite positions of Luxuria’s bullets, causing collisions and many minor explosions. In the mayhem, Hermes grabbed his lance and spear simultaneously and intentionally fell to strike Abel, only missing him by an inch. Abel thrusted his lance nearly hitting Hermes before Joshua literally fired fire seemingly towards Hermes. The fire went around Abel and into the air, burning Hermes in an attempt to escape. Luxuria threw her bayonet, the blade passing the flames and striking Hermes as he disintegrated. I quickly grabbed the tickets, victorious, even if I didn’t hit Hermes. “And to think Hermes didn’t even have the time to talk.” Abel said as we walked back to the pier. Looking back by the ships we saw an elderly woman walk away from the line, with her own ticket to the Marseille Cruise. She walked towards us, with a faint smile. “Joshua? Is that you? My, I sure haven’t seen you in a long time. How have you been?” She asked Joshua. Joshua seemed as if he was going to cry tears of joy, he hadn’t seen any family since he came to Corneria, he probably hadn’t seen her since he was seven years old. “Grandma..? It’s…really…you.” He muttered back. “Yes, it’s me. I’ve been fine, now I’m glad to see you. How have you been?” He asked, happily. “Oh, I’ve been doing alright. And these must be your friends.” She said. “Hello, my name is Marie Akira, you must know Joshua very well. What brings all of you here? Not all of you seem to be from Corneria. Come, I’ll show you my house, you can tell everything there. Please, make yourselves at home there.” She said to us all.

Chapter 10: An Ominous, Traumatizing Sight.

Marie looked elderly, wearing a dark pink and purple robe, and with braided white hair. We followed Marie and Joshua to Marie’s home, as we greeted her. “My name’s Isaac Ghiral, ma’am.” I said. “I’m John Idolon.” “I am Abel Syrma.” “Nice to meet you Marie, my name’s Hannah Makoto.” John, Abel and Hannah all responded. “You can call me Luxuria.” Luxuria added. “John and I are from Corneria, but we met everyone else on the way.” I said, looking at her ticket. “If you don’t mind me asking, why are you heading to America?” I asked Marie. “No reason really, I suppose you could say I’m sightseeing. But now that you all and my grandson are heading to America as well, I have to go.” She explained. “And here we are, make yourselves at home.” Marie said as she opened the door to her house.

Joshua was speechless, looking at the reminiscent house at his grandmother’s side. “Do you remember being here, Joshua?” Marie asked him. “Yes…it hasn’t changed a bit.” Joshua muttered in response. “That’s nice. Please, everyone stay here as long as you’d like. I’ll go make some tea.” Marie said, heading to the kitchen, followed by Joshua who wanted to help. The rest of us relaxed in the living room as the tea was being made. Sooner than later, Marie called us out to the kitchen table for the tea, and we all sat. “So then, what have you all been up to?” Marie asked us, sipping the tea. I thought to myself, (What should we tell her? I don’t want to lie to her, but am I going to say her grandson and the rest of us are out killing Gods? What is there to tell?! What to do, what to-) My thoughts were interrupted when John spoke, “Well you see we’re all on a mission to do away with the chaos and bring balance to the world. We’re trying to find out why we were chosen and we’re almost constantly being attacked. To bring balance, we have to sacrifice the Gods, Titans, and Monsters and we don’t know what’d happen afterwards.” John explained. (John decides to say something profound and serious NOW of all times?!) “I see. I wouldn’t doubt this, even the Gods are acting so un-divine now-a-days. It’s quite a sad thing, but we will never know why chaos or balance exists, or why we even exist for that matter.” Marie stated. “So you’re fine with everything we’re doing?” Joshua asked. “Of course I am. If you all think it’s such a bad thing, why on Earth would you be doing what you’ve been doing?” Marie asked, mildly chuckling. “I guess that’s true.” I mumbled.

“My, oh my, it’s getting late isn’t it? Come, I’ll show you all where you’ll be staying.” First, Marie took us back to the living room; there was a pull out bed/couch for Hannah to sleep on, and a regular couch for John. We went upstairs, and showed Luxuria and Abel a guest room with one bed and one couch. “Hey Abel, you wanna switch?” John asked, eager to be near Luxuria again. “Sure why not.” “Ugh, boys I swear.” Abel said, followed by Luxuria’s remark. And finally she showed Joshua and I another guest room, apparently the biggest one too. There were two nice beds to sleep on, one for each of us. “Enjoy your stay.” Marie asked as she walked to her room. Joshua and I fell back onto the beds comfortably.

“So Josh, do you like being here? Remembering when you were smaller?” I asked him, looking at the ceiling. “Of course I do. I mean…with my parents gone, my grandmother IS like a parent. She’s always card for me. I always liked being here too, it made me feel so warm and safe…and happy. Heh, I remember when I would always play in the basement, the first time it happened everyone was looking for me for like an hour, they thought I was lost. It was actually kind of funny.” He responded. “A basement, huh? Heh, I can’t be in a basement for very long without hearing noises and being scared as hell.” I replied. “Same with me, at least now. Back then I guess I didn’t think of things as much.” He said, smiling. “Well goodnight, Isaac.” He said as we both began to fall asleep. I wonder how it’ll be in America, or how the new chosen one will be like, and where Cain really is. Hmmm. I thought before I eventually fell asleep.

Before I knew it, I woke up and looked at a nearby grandfather-clock. “Ugghh, it’s five in the morning.” I muttered, failing at returning to sleep. I sighed, “Might as well do something.” I quietly got out and walked downstairs, trying to open a cellar door that leads to the basement. “Hmph, it’s locked.” I looked around to see if anyone was around and burst the door open, not breaking it, but definitely close to. It didn’t slam on the wall luckily so it didn’t make a huge noise. I walked down and nearly puked at the site. Corpses and carcasses littered the room, bloody and dead. I began to gag a bit. “Wh—what is this?!” I asked myself. There were far too many corpses and carcasses to count, all of them looked as if the bones and organs were gone, but not forced out, something else had caused it. “Wh—who is Marie..?” I couldn’t make any sense of it, and I punched my arm to make sure I was a wake. This was real, everything here…is real. All the human corpses appeared to be female, interestingly.

“This…this isn’t right. What’s going on?!” I began to say louder. (I have to tell Joshua. He has to know this.) I ran upstairs and grabbed Joshua without warning. He began to wake up as I took him downstairs. “Josh, you have to see this. I don’t know what your grandmother is…but this just isn’t right!” I said opening the basement’s cellar door again. Joshua entered the room, rubbing his eye. As he opened his eyes he saw more clearly. His eyes widened, and his pupils shrunk in horror. He didn’t have any gag reflex, I think that was the last thing his mind was worrying about. He fell to his knees, and started to sob. He was horrified- no, he was traumatized. I felt so horrible, so cruel. It was the truth but I couldn’t help but feel like an idiot. A cruel, harsh, idiot. Why did I show something like this to him?! I can’t even do anything to prevent it now that he knows! I’M AN IDIOT! I heard footsteps coming this way now.

“I don’t know if I should be surprised at you finding this or not.” Marie muttered. Joshua remained kneeling, traumatized even as she stepped in. “Who are you?! WHAT IS THIS?!” I pointed my sword at her neck. “I may not be Marie, but this is certainly Marie’s body, Isaac. You wouldn’t want to kill it. Her soul is gone now, as are all these people and animals you see. All I wanted was a normal human life. Joshua is an amazing child, I wanted him for my own. I was jealous of a life to take care of him. You see, I am actually named…Envy. I destroy the souls of things and take their bodies for my own. Marie’s soul is already dead. I will always be…Envy.”

Chapter 11: An Enigmatic Enemy

“Envy…you sick bastard. How dare you mess with my friend like this.” I stated boldly. I was so tempted to kill her, but having the body of Joshua’s grandmother…I couldn’t. “This wasn’t supposed to happen. He should’ve…disposed…of the bodies by now. That damn fool is running late, he cost me this whole event.” Envy stated, after me. “You damn…*****!!!” I yelled loudly towards Envy, knowing I couldn’t attack. Hannah, Luxuria, John and Abel apparently heard and ran to the scene. John gagged as I did, and Luxuria covered her vision from the sight. Hannah rushed to Joshua seeing his depression. Abel, also horrified, turned to me. “Isaac what happened? What is this?!” Abel demanded my answer. “Josh’s grandmother, that’s ENVY! Envy stole Marie’s body and destroyed her soul! The same goes for all of these people and animals!” I exclaimed pointing to the dead and bloody bodies. Abel turned to Envy without saying a word. “I am immensely tempted to kill you right now…” He mumbled. “Joshua are you okay? Say something, please…” I heard Hannah say to Joshua.

All of a sudden part of the ceiling was burst down as someone came down. “Finally something to EAT!!!” Gluttony said as he devoured all the corpses and carcasses, it’s such a truly grotesque sight. “…Gluttony.” I muttered at the horrific event taking place. “Sin said that I have to feed Gluttony, otherwise he’d rampage.” Envy quickly explained as the underground wall was smashed open. “Sloth…made it…that good…” Sloth muttered, falling on his own back. “At least…we can kill these ones.” Abel growled, dashing towards Sloth with his lance. “Envy, can I eat them?!” Gluttony asked. “No, Gluttony. You just ate a good thirty bodies, that’s enough.” Envy scolded Gluttony. “Fine then! Have Sloth kill them for you!” Gluttony complained as he left. “What am I going to do with that big roll of meat?” Envy scoffed, leaving the area and having Sloth take care of the dirty work. Sloth smacked Abel away easily. He wouldn’t budge after anything he did. John and I leaped into action with our swords, in a sad attempt to defeat him. “Come on, Joshua wake up! Please…do something…” Hannah plead as Luxuria rapidly fired bullets towards Sloth. The bullets simply deflected off his skin as he slowly marched ahead. “Ugh, Sloth…bored…” He mumbled.

Slowly yet suddenly a figure appeared between us and Sloth. He was average-sized but wore a pure black cloak that covered his entire body; even a hood covered his whole face. He also wore black gloves, and dark shoes. The figure hadn’t exactly fully materialized, he was just faded and flashed in the area. After a minute or two he materialized and stood ominously towards Sloth. Suddenly dozens of weapons flashed and circled around him. He grabbed a dual-bladed scythe, a long pole with the blade of a scythe on each end. Without using the weapon he immediately cast a powerful spell of wind and darkness, sending Sloth upwards and out of the house. Sloth didn’t care and began to walk away towards Envy and Gluttony now.

The hooded man now turned to us, detaching the blade into two scythes. He held one normally and another back-handed, waiting for us to strike without even saying a word. In my mind I saw words, but couldn’t hear them…it was strange. Let me see, Isaac. Let me see your strength. I honestly doubt you’d be ready by now…but I am bored. So…I might as well check for now. Show me, Isaac. I grabbed my flamberge and cautiously walked to the man. I looked back to see a white barrier in front of everyone, making sure the battle was only between the two of us. Your friends are beneath my concern. Nothing stands in our way right now. Just the two of us, seemingly in a battle to the death. But no, it’s a mere test. I will indeed allow you to live. He began to dash swiftly now, I was even seeing his after-images. His regular handed scythe dug underneath me and slashed upwards in a close call of my death. As the scythe was in the air practically, I slashed quickly it only to be deflected by his back-handed scythe. He threw the back-handed scythe towards me and I quickly dodged in fear. He used that as a mere opportunity and found himself in front of me, constantly slashing and slicing me. I was injured quite a bit, and he saw my agonizing pain. All he did was keep me alive to feel the pain. I grabbed my sword again and charged. He threw a scythe upwards quickly, knocking the flamberge away as he caught the scythe, now both wielded normally. He went on the offensive side and swiftly sliced and diced my arms, legs and my chest. I was being genuinely defeated. He launched both the scythes down to the ground, trapping me between them. He flipped himself while holding onto the handles, and landed his feet straight down on my chest powerfully. I felt blood cough out as he kicked me aside after. He reattached his scythes and threw it again as I grabbed my sword. Again, I was reluctantly able to guard until my blade flew away again, as his scythes ricocheted back to him. He threw his scythe upwards, it disappearing into the air. You are oh so far from ready. Tsk, not even close. I angrily grabbed my sword and slashed with all my strength. The man faded away as it reached him and reappeared farther away. He snapped his fingers to break the barrier he made. Consider this merely your first test. More’s to come before you’re put to use… I saw those words as he vanished. My ears ringed with a static sound after he left.

Joshua finally regained a bit more sanity, but he was still confused and horrified. His once happy eyes were now full of sorrow and emotional pain, almost sadistically. “Isaac, do you have any idea who that was?” Luxuria asked me. “No…I don’t know. We should probably leave now. We have to go to America tomorrow…” I muttered. (Who…was that..?) I wondered. “Come on guys, I think we’ve had enough for one day.” John stated as we left that dreaded house. “Go on and find another place to stay for the night, I’ll go and get something to eat.” Abel suggested as he left. There was nowhere to go; we ended up staying on a street corner as Abel came by with various fruits and meats. We all ate quite a bit except Joshua, who probably ate about three bites of meat. He didn’t even decide to try to sleep; he just sat there in a corner as we all lied down. I felt so guilty still, so cruel. To have him see such a thing from his family’s image was too harsh. He was only eleven years old, yet I lead him to a complete and utter horror. This day…would haunt him for the rest of his life. It was hard for me to sleep as well…

Chapter 12: The Cruel Captain!

I woke up to John shaking me. “Get up, lazy ***. It’s time to go.” He said as I got up. “Ugh…sure.” I muttered as we walked to the pier. We arrived at the crossroad between the two ships. “Well, bye Hannah, Luxuria, see you both in America.” I told them. “I’ll see you boys another time then.” Luxuria stated walking off. “Farewell, both of you. Be sure to find us on the coast of America.” Abel responded. “Yeah, see ya girls later.” John said. “Bye guys.” Hannah said, looking at the still sadistic Joshua. They headed off onto the cruise ship. “So the captain’s a chosen one. Can’t wait to meet ‘em.” John said as we walked onto our small ship. I was curious to see the captain and asked a fellow crew-member. “Hey do you know where the captain is? I’d really like to meet him.” The man looked at me confused. “The Cap’n sure isn’t a man, if you’re talkin’ ‘bout Captain Fayette. Yep, she’s never lost a single battle in her life, such a strong woman.” He stated. “W-w-w-w-w-wait. The captain’s…a girl..?” John and I asked simultaneously. Abel seemed a little shocked as well but didn’t say much. “Fayette? A French name for ‘little fairy’. I wonder what kind of captain she is then.” Abel said as we heard a loud bang. The Captain’s Lounge door burst off and flew into the river with a mere kick. All the crew members went to the sides of the ship and stood up straight looking to see Captain Fayette walk out. Her boots loudly banged on the wood. She herself wasn’t very big but she was still menacing. She had long black hair that covered her left eye with bangs. Her eyes were sharp and brown and she wore large black boots and a black pirate outfit, but without a hat or an eye patch.

“All of you men stand up straight or I’ll chop off whatever spine is crooked!!!” She yelled loudly as everyone was startled and obeyed her orders. She stood directly in front of John, Abel, and I now intimidatingly. “So then these men must be the new recruits. YOU’LL BE SCRUBBING THE DECK THE ENTIRE RIDE OR ELSE YOU’LL GET THROWN OUT LIKE A BAD FISH! And DON’T think you’ll be getting much food or any breaks.” She stated boldly and loudly. “And who is this child? I never asked for any kids to be on this ship!” She yelled referring to Joshua. Josh stood straight like she said but didn’t say a thing and showed absolutely no emotion. “You can stay. But there will be NO whining, no crying, sighing, stuttering, laughing, puking, resting, smiling, frowning, talking, or even whispering while I’m here. IS THAT UNDERSTOOD MEN?!” She asked. “YES SI- MA’AM!” Everyone but Josh replied, some almost calling her a sir. We finally took off for America, but we started sailing from a river, not the ocean. “We’re off to America. Now my new recruits…GET SCRUBBING!!!” Fayette yelled again. We had no choice, so we all grabbed a mop and began to clean the ship. “So are we ever going to tell the captain who we are?” I asked. “I dunno, but you can have the honors Isaac.” John said. “What? Why me? I’m the one who’s still gashed up and nearly killed!” I exclaimed realizing my pain was actually going away. A green mist rose from the wounds, and I looked ahead seeing the same mist being cast by Joshua. “Thanks Josh.” I muttered, knowing he wouldn’t hear me either way. I continued cleaning as two large auras of water traveled underneath the river.

On the cruise ship, Hannah and Luxuria began to enjoy themselves. A nice big boat, a refreshing breeze, delicious food and drinks, the cruise was a haven. Hannah looked ahead and saw quite a few figures acting as normal people. Hannah didn’t want to be seen after seeing them all. “Is that Envy again? Oh right, she had gotten a ticket too. OH WAIT- There’s Wrath, Gluttony, and Sloth too.” Hannah said to herself. “I wonder what they’re planning to do here…”

The water auras burst out of the river by the Kraken’s Demise and appeared as two watery, yet still somehow earthen goliaths. Fayette came out again. “Alright kiddies, leave this one to the big boys and girls.” She stated, referring to us as kiddies. “Madam Fayette these guys are Titans! There’s no way we can win, they’re really powerf-“ A man scolded Fayette before his shoulder was sliced as punishment. Fayette had a sharp French sword, a Cutlass specifically. It was still pretty harsh to slice her crewman like that though. “There will be no complaining here, what’s done is done.” Men rushed to the other man with first-aid, ensuring he wouldn’t bleed to death. “Put the Titan bastards out of their misery. FIRE!” She exclaimed as the cannons on the ship blasted the Titans, each instantly disintegrating. “It’s that simple here, boys. Don’t get your panties in a twist for these minor annoyances!” Fayette yelled, heading back into her lounge. “Captain Fayette!” Abel exclaimed. “We know you’re a chosen one, and we are too. Please, would you mind joining our group to defeat the Gods, Titans and Monsters?” Abel asked bravely, but stuttering a bit. “I know you’re all chosen ones. I’ll go with you. But don’t think you’re off the hook, I knew you were all chosen. That’s why I put you four to WORK!” I sighed. “Well back to work I guess.” Fayette came out yelling again. “I heard you sigh! Men, throw them all in the brig!” She commanded as we were thrown into the ‘brig.’

“Well that was harsh.” I muttered. “At least this is a place where we can actually rest, even if we ARE uncomfortable.” John said. “True but still…Isaac HAD to sigh.” Abel remarked. I sighed again unintentionally. “Let’s just rest. We’ll be working constantly when we’re taken out of here.” I responded. They all agreed, but Josh sat in a corner like last time, this time with a book on Monsters though, like an encyclopedia. He instantly closed his book after seeing the next monster in his book though.

The Lamia- dwells by the coast of America.

A vampiric demon whom stalks and devours children- usually eleven and under.

That apparently had scared Joshua even more than he already was. Once again, he just sat in the corner, motionless and nearly emotionless. Just fear, hatred and emotional agony is all he felt right now. Right now- and likely for the rest of his life. Hopefully he’d get over it eventually. I can’t until he does. I caused this traumatized state he’s going through. Why..? Why did I do that, and why must I feel so guilty? What can I do to stop it? I was so frustrated now.

Chapter 13: Completely Indecisive Decision.

Soon enough, Abel, John and I were able to fall asleep. Joshua stayed up the whole time, doing absolutely nothing. I woke up to see him just sitting there, in the same spot as before. (Is he thinking of it enough so that he can’t even rest?!) I thought to myself as Fayette burst the door open, the door looking as if it would almost fall apart. “All of you get your sorry ***es out on deck, NOW! I can’t have you sit around without doing work!” Fayette yelled as one of her men came to her. “Um Fayette sir- uh no, sorry uh- ma’am,” He hesitated. “WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?!” Fayette yelled. “It’s just- we’re nearing the path of Scylla and Charybdis and we’re not sure which you want us to go to.” Fayette grumbled and I noticed Joshua seemed startled after mentioning Scylla and Charybdis. “Scylla may take a few of you men when we get there, but risking Charybdis is risking the entire ship! We’re going to pass Scylla.” Fayette stated as John woke up of all the yelling. Realizing Fayette was there, he quickly scampered off and grabbed a mop to clean the deck as I followed shortly behind along with Abel. Joshua slowly got up and strolled out when Fayette stopped him. “You! Kid. I heard rumors of you being able to use extraordinary magic. Is that true?” Fayette calmly asked. “Yeah I guess so. I’m alright…” Joshua mumbled, “IT’S A YES OR NO QUESTION!!!” Fayette yelled again. “Ye- yes.” Joshua mumbled, startled by Fayette still. Oh, how long it’d take to get used to her. “Good boy. We’re going to use you against Scylla, we can’t afford to waste too much ammunition on a hard target. Go get the boy something to eat, he looks pale. We can’t have such a sad little human weapon right now.” Fayette ordered a nearby sailor. “Yes s- I mean ma’am.”

John and I continued cleaning up as we neared Scylla and Charybdis. Sailors began to get ready and head for the cannons, while dirtying up the majority of the deck. “Hey, I just cleaned that!” I complained as John and I looked up to the upper deck, seeing Joshua grub like a king. “That TRAITOR!” John exclaimed. “Well at least he’s eating, he wouldn’t do anything before.” I said to John. “It doesn’t matter how emo you get, after this much time and work, EVERYONE HAS TO GET HUNGRY!” John complained, clearly starving himself. “That’s true, but at least he’s accepting it.” I said as I continued cleaning up for several seconds. “What the hell, that kid’s a TRAITOR! I’M STARVING!” I complained as a divine light shined down on the ship, as well as the cruise behind us. I almost forgot…the girls are living the life while we’re here working our ***es off. And WE’RE THE ONES THAT HAVE TO DEAL WITH SCYLLA!!! “Forget it, I’m gonna have a fish right now!” Abel exclaimed as he hung off the boat and began to stab at the water, hoping for a fish to come by. I looked at him for a bit then looked up to the light and saw a huge angel. My eyes widened at the sight. “So these are the mere humans slaying angels of the Creator? As a Heavenly Virtue, it is my duty to slay all that stray from the Creator’s path.” The angel said as the smaller, lesser angels began to pour out from the light as well. “As a very guardian of the Creator, I, Temperantia, the Heavenly Virtue of Temperance, shall slay these foul humans!”

I gasped in fear of the angel as we suddenly hit a rock. “SCYLLA!” Several sailors yelled in panic as I noticed a monster atop the large rock. Apparently, there were two monsters guarding the river that lead out into the ocean. Scylla laid atop a giant immovable rock, whom would pluck and eat sailors, as well as stretch its arms to destroy the ship. Charybdis was on the opposite side of Scylla, who rested below the water, within a whirlpool to drag ships in and pull it down to the ship’s entire doom and destruction. Angels flew towards us at all directions as John, Abel and I attacked from the ship. We looked behind us to see Hannah and Luxuria out with their bow, arrows, and bayonets to shoot all the angels down. Hannah and Luxuria seemed to handle the lesser angels and Temperantia lowered itself to the ship as another light glowed on the cruise behind us. “Another one?” Abel asked as it was true. A regular-sized angel, but clearly different appeared. It flew to Luxuria and Hannah, whom were occupied with the other angels. “Ah, you have arrived.” Temperantia called out. “The Heavenly Virtue of Charity, Caritas has arrived to slay all humans meddling with the affairs of Heaven’s creatures.” Caritas said as a man appeared to battle Caritas. “Not even a Virtue can stop the legendary…GILGAMESH!” Gilgamesh hollered out strangely. He pulled out a large spear in his left hand and a katana in his right, clearly a true weapon-master. Caritas summoned a dual-wielding sword of sorts. “Nice weapon ya got there. I guess not even the Virtues are actin’ very angelic, eh?” Gilgamesh remarked as he began to clash with Caritas.

“Joshua, FIRE!” Fayette called out as several cannon blasts fired towards Scylla as well. Joshua began to move the air all around Scylla way up high. The air began to somehow spark and suddenly everything around Scylla simply combusted into a giant explosion! “Blow the whole rock up, kid!” Fayette yelled as she pulled out a pistol and, without eye contact, blasted Scylla in the eye. “Fayette, that’s going to…” “I know what it’s going to do.” Fayette remarked to Joshua as she shot Scylla again then went behind Temperantia and swiftly upward-slashed Temperantia with her cutlass blade. Temperantia growled in pain and Joshua combusted the entire rock of Scylla, causing Scylla itself to fall smack-dab on the ship. “Now you’re seaweed to me.” Fayette said as she began to slash Scylla. The combustion of the rock startled the fish in the river, as well as Charybdis. The whirlpool grew to greater lengths and was soon going to be enough to pull the ship!

Gilgamesh continued clashing with Caritas on the cruise ship. “None can face the mighty prowess of GILGAMESH!” Gilgamesh exclaimed as Caritas disintegrated. “Well now that was easier than I thought.” Gilgamesh whispered to himself as another voice came, “Was it? Because that just makes things simpler for me.” A middle-aged man said as he appeared, two rapiers in hand. It was Wrath! He was on board for America too?! Wrath quickly dashed towards Gilgamesh and both had a climactic battle. “Whoa, you’re fast! And you’re older than I am!” Gilgamesh exclaimed until he was slashed by both the rapiers in an ‘X’ style. “I’m afraid you’re a bit rusty for a youngster than!” Wrath said as he thrust his sword in an attempt to stab Gilgamesh.

Scylla got up rather sloppily, but powerfully knocked Fayette out the way. Scylla stretched its arm across the deck, breaking many planks of wood. Scylla knocked John away and attempted to do the same to me until I slashed the arm like seaweed. Its body was mostly weak except for the very ends of Scylla’s limbs! I charged towards Scylla and noticed Abel slash and stab at Temperantia. Scylla kept flailing its arms and it actually succeeded in whacking me and bonking me several times. “Damn…” I mumbled as Scylla flailed its arms and stretched it against the angels. I noticed Joshua controlling Scylla! I see, Scylla’s seaweed-like body had gallons of water inside it and Joshua would use that to control its movements. Most angels were gone and were being handled by Luxuria and Hannah as Scylla- or Joshua, now attacked Temperantia with Abel. Scylla knocked Temperantia out of the ship as it started to drag out into the whirlpool. Temperantia reluctantly landed right on top of Charybdis wounding it as Temperantia disintegrated. Joshua finally ended the two by tossing Scylla’s self into the whirlpool, where both of the monstrosities disintegrated as the whirlpool halted to a stop.

Luxuria casually walked down and noticed Envy on board as well. “She’s here too? Oh right, she got tickets right in front of us. Damn glory-hog.” Luxuria mumbled as Hannah happily walked down and noticed Gilgamesh and Wrath. “Huh? Is that- oh it is. HI GILGAMESH!” Hannah excitedly waved towards him despite being in a clash with Wrath. “Ha- HANNAH?! What the hell are YOU DOING HERE?!?!” Gilgamesh yelled back. Wrath simply walked away, bored. “Tell me Envy, why on Earth did Sin have us bring Sloth and Gluttony along?” Wrath asked. “Well I’m not exactly sure, you’d have to ask good ol’ Pride if he were here. I mean Gluttony’s annoying and Sloth won’t do anything but I guess they can keep a few fighters occupied in a fight. Are they still in the room like the slobs they are?” Envy remarked, still having the body of Marie. “I’d assume so. We should probably inform Master Sin about this Gilgamesh fellow as well.” Wrath said.

“Good job, Joshua,” Fayette said to Joshua, for once actually somewhat respecting another person, “NOW DON’T HESITATE WHEN I GIVE YOU AN ORDER NEXT TI…” Fayette stopped as blood was slowly coughed from her mouth. Abel, John and I backed away as Joshua was left near her. “Wow who would think all that yelling makes someone cough blood?” John asked as Abel bonked him on the head, “You idiot, she took a few straight blows from Scylla.” He said as John began rubbing his head. “Ar- are you alright, ma’am?” Joshua asked calmly but nervous inside. “OF COURSE I’M ALRIGHT DON’T YOU SEE HOW WELL I AM?!?!” Fayette yelled as several sailors ran to her as she coughed blood again. A sailor shoved Joshua in the room to heal Fayette. “Don’t overexert yourself, captain!” I heard a sailor say as Fayette yelled again, although I wasn’t completely sure of what she said.

“Why are you going to America, Gil?” Hannah asked happily. “Whadda ya think I’m goin’ for, dumb***? I told you I will obtain the legendary Excalibur, Masamune and RING OF CREATION FOR MY CLAN!” Gilgamesh yelled, “And don’t call me ‘Gil’!” Hannah smiled as Gilgamesh talked again, “Who would’ve thought my rival archer would meet GILGAMESH in America?!”
