<em class='bbc'>‘It is the beginning of the end for me, and yet, it’s all so beautiful...’</em><strong class='bbc'> Tessa pondered as she collapsed. It had been a rough fight for her, and her long, stringy brown hair- usually the colour of an autumn sun shining through the leaves of a dying tree- was spread across the ground, like a dark halo, and in the middle of that halo, a small, shrunken face; a pale and gentle smile touched her lips. Tessa was staring up, softly laughing as the breath escaped her lips, and her violet eyes searched the skies for an answer, for the reason behind the hidden atrocities that had just occurred, but even the skies had no answer.</strong><br />

<strong class='bbc'>Tessa whimpered, and released a soft breath, her eyes fluttered closed, and the light left her face, her body collapsed onto itself. She looked like a young child’s doll thrown onto the moss ground, a body without a life.<br />

But, as quickly as she had given up, a thought had entered her fragile mind, a thought of love, and friendship, and everything she had given her life for. Her bunkmates, her friends, the only people who understand her. With great strength and power, she opened her eyes and rose to her knees, not allowing herself to draw upon any other energies. She raised her eyes to look piercingly upon the devastation.</strong> “I will not give up here, I will continue...”<br />

<br />

<span class='bbc_underline'><em class='bbc'><strong class='bbc'>Description:</strong></em></span><br />

Based in a modern-day time period, many high schoolers and college students have been being kidnapped and taken to a special “school”. These students have special powers, and each of these powers comes with a price, the more dangerous the power, the higher the price.<br />

A man, called the professor, by the students, has been collecting all of these students for his evil purposes. These students have many places they can go, but they are isolated to the society. They cannot leave the school grounds, and if they attempt to they will be brought back, the second time, they will be killed.<br />

There are a few simple rules each student MUST follow:<br />

<strong class='bbc'>--</strong> Do not attempt to escape, serious punishment follows for those who do not follow this rule.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>--</strong> If fighting occurs, both parties and any supporters of the fight will be subdued and serious punishment will follow. (And, assuming a fight breaks out, there is to be no god-modding.)<br />

<strong class='bbc'>--</strong> Students will be tested periodically to determine their academic skills and combat potency. If a student is deemed “under average” on any of these, the student will be eliminated. (This will rarely occur, and only with permission from the owner of said character. Used mostly for a plot twist, like a scary thing.)<br />

<strong class='bbc'>--</strong> If a student does not participate in group session, they will be placed in social exclusion and receive serious punishment.<br />

<br />

<span class='bbc_underline'><em class='bbc'><strong class='bbc'>Rules for you to follow:</strong></em></span><br />

If you get in a fight, do not specify if your attack hits, let the other player decide; however, that does not mean you never get hit, we are only mortal.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>--</strong> If your power is strong, then you must have an equally strong drawback. This is not a drawback to other people, it must prevent you from doing something, whether controlling your character, or allowing your character to move.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>--</strong> Cursing is okay, in an appropriate situation. Don’t go around and curse every other word. That gets annoying. <br />

<strong class='bbc'>--</strong> And keep your posts long, a paragraph or 2 minimum. We’d like the plot to move, and the 2 sentences aren’t cutting it for us. No, that doesn’t mean we’ll be annoyed if you don’t make two paragraphs all the time, I respect writer’s block. But do your best.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>--</strong> Be creative! Don’t have a bland character no one wants to play with. Don’t steal ideas from others. Have an opinion, have a good time. Just takes a little motivation to produce a masterpiece, work is not required.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>::Power/Ability::</strong> Energy Manipulation- The ability to use the life energy of things around her, when using it the energy becomes visible, to look like a beam, or sword of light (or dark). When using a person’s energy, the person will be drained, as with a animal or plant.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>::Drawback to Power/Ability::</strong> The drawback to this power is mental. When Tessa uses her power, she opens her mind to be controlled by the energy of the organism. If she kills the organism while using the power, by draining it too far, or kills another organism, she will be controlled by the energy. As she gains strength with using this power, her mind will become stronger and the effects of smaller, shorter times using it will diminish, however, the threat will never disappear.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>::Personality::</strong> Tessa is a very shy person, she is afraid of human contact and won’t talk to other people. She is an introvert and a very quiet person. She has always been used to being hurt and insulted by others, so she has little temper, and is very hard to anger; however, when she does anger, she throws herself into the rage and can lose her control over herself. This has always scared her, and thus she is afraid of herself and anyone else with powers.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>::Reason::</strong> She discovered her power at 13, when she got angry with her parents and drew the power out of a spider on the nearby wall. The spider died, and she gained immense strength, and lost all control, killing her family and ending her up in here immediately. Since then, she will always blame her powers on herself, and the death of her family on her powers.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>::Appearance::</strong> Tessa is a beautiful girl, but her beauty is scarred by a great many things, such as the short scar on her cheek. She has bright violet eyes that sparkle with the radiance of the sun’s light. She has long, thick, brown hair that is darker at the roots than at the tips, due to her not going outside often anymore. Tessa is very pale, and underweight, as her bones are all too obviously seen. Her light, and radiance, that all people have is dimmed, and her beauty looks ruined, because of her treatment of herself.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>::Entrance Post::</strong><br />

<strong class='bbc'>Tessa opened her eyes and gasped, sitting up in bed. She had heard someone downstairs, and she was worried that there was another new ‘inmate’.</strong> <em class='bbc'>The poor sucker, they had no idea what they were in for. This was a place of horror, of anger, of fear... and a place for the dangerous people to be taken to. The ones who turned on their families, the murderers. The people like her, the broken ones. Here, they were called special, but she knew better, they weren’t special, they weren’t blessed. No, cursed was a better word for it. Tessa, at just the age of 13, had murdered her entire family, before collapsing. It’s not as though she meant to, she would never have hurt her mother, her brother...</em><br />

<strong class='bbc'>The thoughts were too painful. And she rolled over on the thin cot bed, closing her eyes and crying softly into the pillow. She had been here for 6 years, as they studied her and her reactions to anything and everything-- well, everything except social interaction. She refused to meet anyone else, because if she cared, and she slipped up, she could kill them. That was not acceptable in her mind.<br />

The boarding facility was good for one thing, all the freaks got to stay here and die slowly, away from society, where they couldn’t hurt anyone.</strong><br />

Tessa glanced at the student following her. "They're going to die, didn't make the cut. That's what happens when you anger the professor. That, or worse." She muttered, just loud enough for him to hear. "I'm Tessa, kid. You're here to fight, to survive, and to kill if needed. I'll be the one you ask before you speak, or move, or fight. I don't like friends, I don't like people, so watch your step. Because I deal out punishments." Se snapped, fixing the kid with a hard look. "First lesson, don't die. It starts now."

 

Tessa turned and stepped backwards, bowing down. "Fight me, and we'll see what use you are." Tessa's eyes flashed, and she drew energy from the surrounding grass, producing a thin whip of green energy. She nodded, as a short warning, an lashed it out towards him, an attempt to hit his shoulder.

Stepping out to watch he held the bottle of pills in his hands for only a second longer before stashing it in her pocket. Now he could get an advantage against the young girl who was suppose to be there teacher. It was already obvious she took her power from things around her but what was the drawback? That would be the key to beating her. Just like his own. Blood was in the air and hit his nose with such a strong force he nearly let out a growl right there. Covering his nose with his coat he looked at the teacher and the student with there ongoing fight. "This place is going to be the death of so many. Some of them don't even know it yet either." Holding his head with his other hand while popping in another pill he hoped he wouldn't do anything seriously deadly to another there.

Oden was looking at Tessa in confusion, as the whip of energy came hurling toward his shoulder. He quickly dodged the attack, spinning around to his left, before facing forward.  "Woah! Hold on!  We have to fight each other already?! I mean we just met!!" he called out.  Nothing was making sense to him. Wasn't this place suppose to be a new opportunity to learn about his ability?  What's all this talk about killing and surviving? What's with this girl?

Tessa smiled, and nodded. "Good. You passed. You don't fight others in here, serious reprimands will come." Tessa straightened and then slowly walked around him, running her eyes up and down his body. "What is your ability?" She asked, before adding, "And name?" She stopped in front of him and sighed. "Quickly, now. I don't have all day."

Oden looked back at her in confusion, then shook his head, waking himself from the trance.  "I can bend electromagnetic waves. And my names Oden." he said, crossing his arms.  He looked back into her violet eyes.  

 

"Oh man, I'm relieved.  I don't think I could've taken her..." he thought to himself

Tessa nodded. "Oden. Where are you from? Did you willingly join or were you taken?" She questioned, her voice quick and snappy. 'I hate talking to people. Why did I have to get the newbies? And I have to teach them.' She thought. Tessa blinked, watching this 'Oden' calmly. "I don't want your whole life story. Just, good or bad? Willing or not?" She said, taking a slow, calming breath. She had a roaring headache, and it was killing her.

Mizuki rolled her eyes. She always hated Tessa's aggressive manner. Mizuki never made the effort to actually come in contact with Tessa, but she always payed attention to her classmates. It's not like she had anyone to worry about herself, the she hasn't had any students to teach since....

For the sake of avoiding bad memories, Mizuki decided to interact with the people she was observing.

Carrying her bag of daggers on her shoulders, she approached the group.

"So, it seems you're making progress on the newbies." Mizuki told Tessa. "Anyone seem very promising?"

Tessa winced as she heard Mizuki's voice. She had always been afraid of this girl. The things she could do... Tessa shook herself from her mind and turned. "No, not as far as I can see. You noticed any of mine doing well?" She replied, a calm demeanour hiding her stressed voice. Tessa was careful, watching the girl, and always ready to block herself, not that it would do much against her ability...

 

Tessa flicked her hand towards Oden. "This is Oden. Oden, this is Mizuki."

Silently he watched them all to ready to leave. The scent of blood was sending his mind into a frenzy. 'Please tell me you will get this over with soon?' Despite the fact he wanted to run he firmly kept his face expressionless. No need to do something he might regret. Though asking the girl if he could go to and get his over with was pretty tempting. Would it be a very smart idea though? She already looked very frustrated as it is.

Oden looked over at the unfamiliar face.  He smiled cheerfully.  "Nice to meet you!"  He felt relieved to finally be meeting some new people properly. Maybe this girl will be able to explain everything to him.

Tessa, distracted by the boy hiding in the shadows walked away from Oden and Mizuki without saying a word. "You. You're one of mine aren't you?" She questioned, not unkindly. She walked slowly towards him, her sense heightened, he was a curious boy. "You chosen your room yet?" She asked softly, watching him closely.

 

He was interesting to her. Seemed to hide from others like she did when she first arrived. But he seemed darker... More reserved than she was. She didn't dislike him, or like him. But her curiosity was getting the best of her.

His nose scrunched together. The scent of blood came off the girl just as it came from ever where else. "Yes I'm William. Mind speeding this up?" His pupils turned into pin drops before he let out a low growl. It was all to much right then for him. Whatever was holding him back before was completely gone. In the next instant he had his hands engulfed in black tendrils shaped like claws. Sharp canines flashed as he sent a strong blast of dark energy toward her before jumping at her with the intent of shedding blood.

Mizuki gleefully shook Oden's hand. It had been a while since she'd had human contact.

"Nice to meet you too."

She glanced over towards Tessa, then back to Oden.

"Seems like there are a lot of people with energy based powers this year. So what's you're story?" Mizuki asked. "I mean, how'd you end up here anyways?" She asked him more thoroughly, though she assumed it would be the same story as hers.

Tessa's eyes glittered joyfully, she moved to the side, and stepped just out of his grasp. "Don't play boy, fighting here ain't good. Control yourself before I do it for you..." She threatened, chuckling softly. She loved fighting, but this could get deadly, and she didn't need that punishment. For either of them.

 

She crouched down, pulling from the boy himself for energy, a large black whip appearing around her, curling and twisting in the air, taking its energy from the boy.

 

(( I left you two back because a 3 or 4 way convo is hella hard to do in a roleplay setting unless we decide who goes first. Lol! ))

He flinched his pupils enlarging before shrinking down to half the size they where supposed to be. "Then hold still!" The growl linger in voice as he jumped at her one last time. Dark energy pulled away from her only to fade into his chest. Dark tendrils faded away while he sat on the ground with his body jerking. His face showed anger while in truth he felt scared. The girl had some serious power in her. To much in hid opinion.

Tessa crouched down and touched his shoulder. "Watch yourself. Don't lose control. But I think I know the reason why you're here." She smiled kindly at him. "What's your power kid?" She asked, watching him carefully. "And don't attack me, or any of the senior members, we've been here a while, you could get hurt." She said, patting his head and standing up, offering her hand. "Come on, get up, give me your power and let's go."

Oden felt relieved to finally meet someone willing to have an active conversation.  "I've had these abilities for a year now, but..."  He looked down at the ground,  clenching his fists.  

 

 

-FLASHBACK-

 

"Oden! What are you doing?!"

 

"I'm sorry! I'm trying!!"

 

The walls around him were crumbling, adding to the pre-evident destruction.

"No..." he whispered to himself quietly.  "It's no big deal..." he said allowed. Oden turned to other direction, keeping his head low.  "Something just happened at my old school..."  Quickly looking back up, he nervously tried switching the subject.  "What about you? How did you end up here?!"

Mizuki raised an eyebrow curiously. (another nutcase? Not surprised, I might as well be considered one myself.)

"Well," Mizuki began. "Not much of an interesting story, parents left me in a dumpster, and the administrators found me, and took me in. My parents probably saw me using my ability and freaked, too afraid to deal with me." She sighed and stretched, a bit tired for some reason. "Well, I suppose I shouldn't keep you're attention for too long, you're Traver probably wants you back now." Mizuki said as she looked to Tessa.

Tessa noticed Mizuki looking at her and withdrew her hand. "Get up kid, join me when you're under control." Tessa turned, walked towards the training dummies. "Come on Oden. More your butt over here." She called, frowning at him. 'Dont be soft Tessa, they need you to be the strong one... At least, once they realise the horrors. Don't let them get killed too.' She thought, wincing. "Come on, we don't got all day!"

 

Tessa was concerned about her trainees. If they lost their way, or made a mistake... She didn't want to get attached, but they followed her. It would be her fault if they died. She couldn't let that happen.

Oden looked over at Tessa.  "Alright, alright...jeez" he thought to himself.  He still did understand this girl at all.  "Yeah, you got it boss."  He followed Tessa toward the training dummies.  He turned and walked backwards, facing Mizuki.  "Hey! I'll see you again, right?!" he called out cheerfully.

Tessa grumbled to herself, "annoying little..." But she was cut off as he wandered within ear shot. "Your power is radio waves correct?" She asked, and without waiting for a reply she turned and pointed at the dummy. "Is your control presice or general? And how much does your drawback effect you?" She asked quickly, watching him with soft, smiling eyes, despite her frowning face. She knew to be gentle, but still stern. However, connecting with people wasn't something she liked doing.
