Many years have passed since the mysterious and god-like killer, Kira, was discovered to be Light Yagami, simply an intellectual human blessed with a Death Note... Or was it a curse? Death Notes are books possessed by Shinigamis, aka gods of death, with the ability to kill anyone who's first and last name is written down in it. However, you must have a clear image of the person in your mind whenever you right down their true name, otherwise the Death Note will be rendered useless. The default method for killing someone via the Death Note is a heart attack occurring in 40 seconds, unless specified otherwise. There's many rules for the book, such as the user being neither able to go to Heaven nor Hell, and in the end, the Shinigami who's book you're using must write down your name when it is your time to die. Very few people had learned that Light had been Kira all those years ago, and the ones that did decided to keep it under wraps, revealing to nobody the true identity of the killer. It's been 40 years after Matsuda had shot and killed Light Yagami after discovering he had been Kira, and driven to the brink of insanity by this revelation, secluded himself out of the country of Japan and into the United States, into the outskirts of a small town, where he could hopefully start his life anew. Almost all of the former force who'd knew the true alias of Kira had died over the years from sickness and old age. Matsuda wanted to escape this, and lived in fear that he might die next. For months, criminals started dying of heart attacks, the same method used by the original Kira. Trying to prevent the same case all those years ago, Matsuda investigated this intensely, eventually coming close to finding out the true identity of the killer, who had also taken the name of Kira. One day, after being so close to discovering the new Kira, Matsuda dropped dead of a heart attack, and one of the last people with knowledge of the true identity of the original Kira was gone. Nobody left on the Earth could oppose Kira, and nobody dared to try. Nobody except you. A group of people, led by the last sole survivor of the original Kira's days, a now elderly Near, has risen up and located Kira's whereabouts to be within New York City, New York. They are exceptionally smart, and posses extraordinary abilities in detective work, and have been given the name, Order, by Near, his longing for balance an influence in the creation of this group. With the fast-approaching discovery of the killer inevitably coming, the new Kira had no choice but to enlist the help of his own force, simply known as Judgement. They have each been given their own single page of the Death Note, with instructions to kill anyone who opposes Kira and the Judgement organization. Both sides know of each other, and both sides have taken proper precautions towards the taking down of one another. All members of Order use fake aliases for everything they do, and Kira and Judgement are left clueless with no ideas how to prevent their discovery. Unable to kill off Judgement due to the lack of information, they have gained access to special chemical that possesses the ability to bless the consumer with superhuman-like strength, giving them the ability to fight with incredible skill and to do things like withstand gunshots. Order must hurry and put a cease to the creation of this miracle serum, dubbed Serum 999 , and prevent the catastrophe that happened forty years ago from becoming a reality yet again, but in such a large city like New York, where will they start?

Hello everyone! I'm glad to announce the creation of my new RP, one that is based on the Death Note series with the goal of creating a new continuation of where the series left off. I hope I wasn't the only one who was sad when that show ended. All I ask of you is that you have a familiarity of the series as it will help you to understand this RP in much greater detail, and if you don't feel like watching the whole show, just watch the last episode! It gives you a decent idea of the background of this RP, as well as the original series. Most importantly, have fun!
Rules
* PG-13, all normal rules of KH13 apply, but medium swearing and gore is fine. Don't get carried away though please!
* At least four sentences please, and your first post should be at least 4 lines long, as it establishes your basis in the RP. * No bullying, going against other religions, killing off other characters (unless granted permission by the creator of that specific person) or taking control of other's characters.
* Stay focused. Don't force your character to appear in situations they have no real place in. Example, during a fight, someone just comes out of nowhere and changes the entire direction of the battle. * I'll accept a maximum of two characters per person, but its better to create just one as you can focus on and develop that character more. * Please don't ditch this RP after signing up. If you want to leave, just let me know and I'll kill you off somehow

After witnessing these events, a Shinigami, Rilan, dropped his Death Note in front of Kirazen and sparked by curiosity, Kirazen picked it up and knew exactly what it was, the legendary weapon from his grandfather's stories, the Death Note. Kirazen eventually met Rilan, who revealed that he'd actually met the original Kira's Shinigami, Ryuk, in the Shinigami world, and listened to a story about Kira. That's when Rilan revealed that he was actually Light Yagami, reincarnated as a Shinigami. The only one the could see Rilan, Kirazen vowed to carry on Light's original goal for not only Rilan, but for his family that'd been taken away by criminals. Rilan educated Kirazen of his original mistakes so that he wouldn't meet the same fate that Light had, and could avoid making the same mistakes he did which ultimately led to his death. Heeding to the side of caution, Kirazen created the organization, Judgement, to throw off any police force or detectives that were pursuing him, sharing a single page of his Death Note with each them and thus allowing them to see Rilan, who educated them so that they could learn the ways of the original Kira, much like Kirazen had, but in less detail. Now, Kirazen has been forced to take many precautions to avoid being discovered by the opposing organization, Order, led by Near himself.
