I think this is a step in the wrong direction, I mean it worked for Crisis Core but that was because we hadn't played as Zack before. We played as Lightning in FFXIII so were fairly familiar with the character. All we really knew about Zack was that Cloud based part of his psudo-personality on him and that they were best friends. I think they could have at least had Sera join Lightning on this new journey. I mean Lightning spent all of XIII trying to release Sera from Crystal Stasis and Sera spent all of XIII-2 trying to find Lightning. If this is the last chapter in the FFXIII story than they should be together. What do you guys think, Was this a good idea or poor judgement?

I think it's a great idea, it'll make for a completely different gameplay experience, we don't need a third game with practically the same battle system. It also means the game will focus on Lightning primarily story wise, which is befitting for the ending of the trilogy.

Yeah not really happy about it. Having a group of characters is more fun than a single person and it adds more tactics and thoughts into the game and it shows off the world better and the other characters better than just the hero.

 

Yeah it works in Crisis Core because even though we knew Zack, what we knew was little and he was still mysterious. When I was little I used to call him the " scary hedgehog guy " because his introduction in FF VII was creepy with Sephiroth mind- controlling Cloud and everything. But Crisis Core taught us what he really is.

 

Claire or " Lightning " we already know her. She's not mysterious and we don't know very little about her, unlike how it was with Zack. The battle system is going to be a little bit dull imo.

 

If they made a game about Sazh's son in the future and had him as a solo character it would be a bit more interesting. Because we know little about him. Plus the way puberty works in the FF 13 universe, I bet that he would have fangirls crawling.

I do like more characters, but don't give up hope just yet. It's a whole new battle system, so anything could happen!

I have no problem playing as one person in the game, just wish it wasn't lightning, no offence to her. She's very transparent in my opinion, not a lot of mystery or anything going on to find out. If she came out as a drag queen mid story, that'd be interesting.

She really wasn't the only interesting character in XIII/-2. I'd like it if Noel, Fang, or Sazh could come. I got a little bored about Noel and Serah in XIII-2, mainly because they basically had somewhat similar personalities and agreed about almost everything. No opposition to mix it up. So, if I see everything through Light's eyes the whole time, I'll most likely get bored.
