Airlines offer unaccompanied services for children, however adults with mental impairments are not allowed to travel by themselves, and since there are no services for them, someone else is forced to travel with them. Is this a problem? It can be. A friend of my aunt was going to send her daughter from somewhere around Atlanta to the girl's father in St. Louis. Before the girl was able to travel by herself, but since she's now 18, her mother had to go with her forcing her to pay for another ticket. She could have had to pay for a hotel too, but she was able to stay at my aunt's house. But what about a family has only enough money for one ticket and the person with impairments has to go somewhere? Would it be fair to force the family to pay more money than they have? To me this sounds a little mean.
