For those of you who don't know Digimon World Re:Digitze Decode is an enhanced port of Digimon World Re:Digitize for the PSP being ported to the 3DS. The games are published by Namco Bandai. The character design for the games was done by Suzihito Yasuda of the SMT Devil Survivor series. Characters from Adventure and Tamers make appearances in the online mode using their original artwork by Akiyoshi Hongo. Lili and Sebastion of Tekken fame also make cameos in the online mode. The raising system from the original Digimon World on the first PS make a comeback with a few minor tweaks. The port supposedly has twice as much content as the original, including more Digimon, a new post-game character a new area and two new-post game episodes.
Unfortunately the original version did not sell as expected so I doubt this one will.
Points for localization
1. It's on the 3DS which is more popular here than the PSP.
2. Nintendo America wants to help more games published by 3rd parties in Japan be localized.
3. Digimon is making a comeback on TV this summer.
4. Bandai has filed a "Digital Monsters" trademark to be used with Video, Computer and Card Games
Points against
1. Is published by Namco Bandai who is hesitant to localize their games.
2. PSP version did not sell as expected and the PSP is more Popular than the 3DS in Japan. As is Digimon itself.
Assuming it sells well in Japan, what do you think the chances are of it being localized?
I will now be using this thread to keep all of you up-to date on news regarding the game.
First, as stated before there will be a new post-game character. A girl named Rina Shinomya who is partnered with a Veemon that follows the Veedramon evolution line. Like the Protagonist (default name Taiga) she has the Decode ability. I'm not sure exactly what that is other than the fact that the Decode Level affects a partner Digimon's stat growth.
Secondly, even non-partner Digimon in town can now Digivolve if certain requirements are met.
Third, there is now an apartment in town where the Digimon can stay and your character Taiga will be the landlord and can choose which Digimon stay in the apartment.
Apparently, there is a Tyranomon you find stealing from the Meat Farm (remember that from DMW1? It's back.) He sees the error of his ways and leaves on his own journey. You will encounter him several times, first as Tyranomon, then as MetalTyranomon and finally as the new Mega Level* Digimon, RustTyrannomon.
The ExVeemon line is obtainable all the way from Chibomon to Imperialdramon Paladin Mode and Ogremon (not obtainable as far as I know although one does help you out during The Scheming Demon Lords) has a new Digivolution called Taitamon.
More information on the Post-Game episode "Lament of the X-Antibody" has come to light. The link has been posted below.
Also, Tekken's Lili will have a slightly larger role, taking part in the events of the new post-story episode "The Scheming Demon Lords"
Finally, there is a new "Bodyguard" system which allows you to pay a mercenary Digimon to temporarily join your party.

These next few are just little tidbits about what was going through the developers minds as they were porting the game. They contain no pertinent information so feel free to skip the if you so desire.
No word yet on an international release but the Japanese release is June 27th.
More to come. I'll be updating whenever new information becomes available, as well as linking to the Silliconera articles I get the info from. Feel free to follow if you want to see news when it's added.
Update: Well, the game releases tomorrow so unless a localized version is announced, I may no longer be updating this thread. Let's all cross our fingers and hope they decide it's worth the cost.
Update: Well, it's August 1st. The anniversary of th day the Digidestined first set foot in the Digital World, more than a moth after the game released in Japan, and Ssill no news of a localization. If you want this game localized, please, got to Namco Bandai's facebook/twitter/watever and ask them to consider it. Fan love is the only way to make this happen.
* Ultimate Level in Japan, whereas what we refer to as "Ultimate" is called "Perfect"
I want it.
