Did you honestly like Re:Coded, or did you dislike/hate it?

I've actually played Re:Coded, and from the bottom of my heart, i can honestly say i don't like the game at all.

I payed 20 dollars for it at gamestop a year ago(From all the gameplay i saw, it looked and seemed alot like KH1, which i loved to death, so i thought i would like it). I made a big mistake.

I started the game, (forgot which difficulty i did it on, or if the game even had a difficulty selection) and played through it for awhile. I got lost on the Destiny Islands, and the game felt like it wasn't even an official installment in the KH series, it felt like it was a FAN MADE GAME. A VERY BADLY MADE FAN GAME.

I went on to the other worlds, and it felt worse and worse. I liked a little bit how when you got into battle at Olympus coliseum it became more like traditional RPG, so that was ok, but it still didn't help at all, because Olympus coliseum was the one world that trolled me in terms of getting around the place, i constantly got lost.

And there was barely a story too! The only things really pointing to it having a thin story at all was that Mickey created Data Sora to clean up the bugs in the journal, that one point in the game where Data Sora got seemingly destroyed, but was brought back. And then the ending, where Mickey says goodbye to Data Sora, sends the letter to Sora telling him that he needs to take the Mark Of Mastery to save those people connected to him.

All in all, i think Square barely put any effort when making this game. It felt very half assed, i am so dissapointed at the Osaka team for ruining the potential this game could've had. Re:coded is the only game in the KH series that i genuinely hate, even to this day. All the other games i liked/loved alot, and were worth my money. This one was not.

I didn't expect it to be as good as the other installments, since there's only so much a DS can do. I just expected it to be fun, have an ok story, and not be confusing on where to go in the worlds. For me, it failed on all those things. I dislike it.

I didn't find it confusing on where to go in worlds at all. It as perfectly fine. It was fun imo. The story was fine, it wasn't the best but it was a mobile game originally. It was a great game imo. I enjoyed it.

Square packed a lot of fun game play in this little ds game. You have to admit that the variety has been pretty much the most we've ever seen in a kingdom hearts game even though some people might not like the variety chosen, yet like everyone says, the story was lacking obviously. I don't think anyone can milk much plot out of the concept "Sora Gets His Checklist of People To Save". So this was definitely a filler game.

The game play was also simple and straight forward. I never got lost in the game...except for olympus. that was the only significant stale crust of the game play. It was annoying seeing the same stuff over and over again. I don't think many people can get lost in it unless they were trying too hard.

Another extra note is that i find it kind of funny how Re:Coded and Days kind of go hand in hand in terms of development. Coded was strong in game play but lacked in story while Days was vice versa. Anyone else find it ironic that they're both ds games too?

Story wise, the game is almost pointless. However, it is still fun, and worth playing if you're a KH fan.
