It does if you live in a small town and the person at the comic book store is an old man who is very nice and still hip for his age.

Buy graphic novels on things like amazon and if you want to save money on comics get them on comixology a month after they come out probably will be cheaper. You also can read previews pages online to see if you like it.

Yeah, I typically read the first chapter if I have time. With books it's harder since I tend to not like the synopsis's of a lot of them.
