I realized something after reading a topic that "Dave" created. Nomura was right. ANYONE COULD BE A LIGHT OR DARKNESS.

 

As it turns out, Vanitas has lost his purpose to Xehanort, so if he comes back, he is worthless to him. He could possibly side with the VII lights and become an Anti Hero. And we've seen what happened to Sora in DDD. He could still become a Darkness.

 

And the only people who've we seen that is immune to the darkness who are protagonists, are Riku and Kairi. Riku, as you all know, has become immune to darkness as of KH2, when the part of Ansem inside him was destroyed.  And Kairi, is a princess of heart who has no darkness in her heart. So they are useless to the XIII darknesses. This doesn't neccesarily mean they will be lights, but they won't be Darknesses at the very least.

 

As for everyone else, from seeing how close SORA came to being a darkness, that means any of them could succumb to darkness and become one of the XIII. And from what has happened to Vanitas, theoretically any of the Darknesses could side with the Lights instead.

Possible, but I doubt any of the known darknesses would side with the lights.  If Marluxia and co. make an appearance in KH3, which I kinda doubt, I could see them representing darkness siding with light, due to a common enemy, but that's it.

But being "saved" and coming back are two different things. Xion could be saved by being remembered. Namine can be saved by getting her "thank you" from Sora. Only Roxas has to come back to be saved.
