FF VII takes place in the same universe as X, but only in the distant future after X's events and on a different planet.
FF XIII and FF XV have the same mythology, so there's a chance that what ends up happening to the world in FF XIII, could end up becoming the world in FF XV(Right now its too early to say, but i doubt its a coincidence that they have the exact same mythology. We'll find out for sure once LR: FF XIII comes out. Im guessing the new world that Bhunivelze creates and has Lightning bring people too, is the same world that is in FF XV.)
It seems like more of the FF titles take place in the same universe than we thought. Maybe Square does have a timeline of which order the FF games take place, and this is why they could take place in the same universe.
