Wolves had a legend that, "The smell of a flower that would lead to paradise". That they could throw out their packs. But soon, wolves started being hunted by the humans. Some were kept as pets, others were put to work by their own fellow wolves. But they were soon not sited again..... The humans have been hunting wolves for years, saying their nothing but unwanted beast... People believe that wolves are no longer alive and have been dead for years, but, wolves have been around them for a very long time... They have blended in with the humans.... Because all their land was burned to the ground.. All the woods... All the animals... Gone. But lately, the smell of flowers have been going around...

Aurora walked through the city for groceries. She felt the warmth of the sun on her skin, and a breeze blew through her hair. There were children with their friends playing, or children with their parents. Everything was okay. Or at least for them.

 

'I wonder if there are others like me here... At least one. But I can't take that risk.' Aurora thought and kept walking through the city.

Connor sat on the lonely stoop outside his house. He had once thought that maybe after he moved to this town, he could find a friend, but sadly, this was not the case. He then spotted a girl walking down the street... and all of a sudden, he had a weird feeling grow deep inside him.

 

She... reminds me of someone... he thought, automatically standing up and walking towards the girl, a tired and quiet swagger accompanying him.

Aurora headed to her home. She sensed someone following her, but she kept walking.

 

'Don't run Aurora... Don't run...' She thought to herself.

Connor felt some uneasiness inside him, mostly because the girl seemed to be walker faster than she was before. He walked faster as well, to try to catch up. He didn't feel like shouting to her and raising his voice. Besides, he wasn't prepared to let her get away. No matter what.

Aurora reached her house and she walked up the steps to her door and turned to look at the boy, and she immediately got a weird feeling.

 

'W-What?' She thought to herself.

"Hello," Connor said, nonchalantly.

Aurora blinked.

 

"Hello.." Aurora said quietly. Secretly, she was a bit shocked but she was scared. What did this boy want?

"Excuse me, but, what is your name?" Connor asked, walking closer to the girl, still calm and collected even so.

She stood her ground. She decided to act normal. She didn't want more attention.

 

"My name is Aurora. It's nice to meet you." She said.

"Aurora..." Connor slightly smiled. "That's a beautiful name," he complimented, coming even closer to the girl before him and looking into her eyes.

She stared into his eyes and a spark started between them. Aurora looked away quickly.

 

"U-Um. Well, it's nice to meet you, but I need to go." Aurora muttered, glancing at the door to her house.

"Wait," Connor said, putting a hand on her shoulder and making her face him again.

Aurora blinked.

 

"What is it?" She asked. She wanted to get back into her home.

Connor did not speak again, as he moved the hand that was on the girl's shoulder to her cheek, his hand warm against her skin, touching her gently.

Aurora tensed up. Never in her life had a boy touched her like this. She was shocked. But at the same time, she was comforted by the boy's touch. Who was he? She immediately turned away and opened her door.

 

"I, um, have to go." She muttered and walked into her house closing the door behind herself quickly.

Connor looked at his hand, the same one he used to touch Aurora's face. Even after I moved my hand... the warmth is still here. He thought. I have to see her again... but... some other time... he then turned around and made his way back to his own lonely little house...

Aurora walked into the kitchen and put her groceries away and walked up the stairs to her room. She closed her window curtains and smirked to herself. She then turned into her wolf form and jumped into her bed. She yawned.

 

"It's so good to be like this... My true, normal self..." She muttered and rolled onto her back, relaxed, and fell asleep.

Connor turned the lights on in his bedroom, After eating a little dinner, he decided it was time for him to sleep. Changing into his wolf form, his true essence, he curled up on the bed made for a human. His dreams were filled with faint flashes of what he thought was his past... and the girl. Aurora.

 

She... she is... my...

Aurora dreamed of her pack, when they abandoned her.

 

'Aurora, leave. We cannot afford to have you dead.' Her mother said.

 

'But mom, I want to stay with you!' Aurora cried, but her mother and the pack left her. Minutes later, the sound of guns were heard. Her pack was killed. Aurora cried in her sleep.

Day broke upon the town once more, as Connor was already awake by then. Back in his human form, he had been sitting on the roof of his house for a while now, waiting for the sun to come up. The visions and uneasiness he felt in his sleep kept him awake. He couldn't sleep at all. Seeing the rise of the sun and how it felt so warm on his entire body, Connor's morbidness brighten, though it did not show on the outside. Still, he looked down on the town below him, and then over to the house where Aurora lived, just a few blocks away.

Aurora woke up and yawned. She was still in her wolf form. She got up and turned into her human form.

 

"Hmm... What should I have for breakfast today...." She muttered to herself. But, her thoughts wondered to the boy. He... Made her feel so calm and comfortable. Who or what was he? She shook her head and walked down her stairs and headed into her kitchen to fix herself something to eat.

Should I... should I go and see her again? Connor pondered, already standing on Aurora's porch. These feelings I have... I don't feel that I can just keep them locked up inside anymore. Usually, I would do that kind of thing by now. I would have already left the town. But... this girl... she's... different.

 

Connor closed his eyes and took a small breath. He then walked forward and knocked on Aurora's door.
