Forget Fairy Tail. This is a REAL modern shouen. lol

No, no, I kid... sorta. Really, though, if you like FT, I have no qualms against you. Anyways:

This, my friends, is a heaping helping of greatness. If you like DragonBall Z (epic fight scenes), One Piece (epic world building and adventure), and food (ESPECIALLY food), you'll love this series. The main character's a badass, the monster fights he gets into are epic, the food is damn near GODLY... did I mention the food? I don't think I mentioned the food. lol

Anyways, I recommend this series to anyone who likes shouen in general. The manga has been going since 2008, and the anime is over 100 episodes already, since 2011. Plus, there's an English Dub from Funimation, which has covered the first 52 episodes on 4 DVDs. :) Plus, there's a movie coming out! So check it out! :D

It's pretty straight foward in plot. I won't spoil anything, but, if you're fine with simplicity and creativity in the plot, then you'll like it.
