I guess I'll start~

Kuro lay on a sunny and warm patch of grass, snoozing. The area he was in was a clearing with a few large rocks and a small pond. He was tired, and wanted to sleep badly. Now he was finally asleep, and he had his arms behind his head while he was peacfully, but rather loudly, snoring. His Katana lay next to him, a few bits of dirt lay on the blade, showing that it was dropped carelessly. A black cat walked towards him and lay on his chest, staring at his face with wide eyes. He woke up, surprised at the sudden pressure on his chest and stared face-to-face at the cat. He jumped up in surprise and the cat fell of his chest and fled, leaving him alone in he clearing. He sighed and sat down, picking up his Katana and blowing the dirt off of it.

Hilary rushed up to Kuro. "Do I detect a note of...cowardliness? You seemed so brave when we first met...now you're a scared little kid!" It was dark, and eerie. Katrina nearly wandered away from Kuro.

Kuro gripped his sword and turned to Hilary, pointing the blade at her face. He glared at her with menacing eyes, a tint of yellow in them. "He could rip me to pieces, your boss!!" He nearly yelled, his body having a slight tint of black.

Silver nearly yelped before he turned around; his black sword out and ready as he aimed it at the person who laid a hand on his shoulder. "The heck! Don't scare me like that! Nearly gave me a freakin' heart attack!" Silver exclaimed, his face turning stern. He hadn't even gotten a good look at the person yet; he was too busy yelling to really notice.

Flow chuckled and lowered the man's eerie weapon softly with his palm. "You're lost?"

"Ouch! I hit a nerve!" scoffed Hilary. "Now, I'm sure that you know where he is," she responded. "Just around the...to...and then...you're there," she told Kuro. Hilary took a cloth out of her dress. She pulled her scythe out and cleaned a few blood-stains on it.

Silver frowned. He gently lowered his weapon, but the sword was still at ready.

"Maybe. Maybe not. And just who are you?" Silver asked, his face turning threatening. All of his senses starting ringing bells in his head; this person seemed quite sinister. Maybe it was the fact that he was in a dark forest alone, but Silver still couldn't shake the feeling at all.

Kuro sighed and heaved the rest of the way there. When they arrived, he saw the leader sitting on the floor. His hair covered his face to where you couldn't see his eyes. "Hello, Kuro...." He said, a sinister smile forming on his face. "I see Hilary brought you.." Kuro stared at him with angered eyes. "So?" He replied. Fear poured through him and he wondered if he was able to go on.

The man twirled out his gigantic katana ang gingerly rested it easily on Silver's own sword. "My name is Flow. I am a friend. I seek the darkness of this forest to quell its growing threat." The massive chains on Flow's sword rattled softly on Silver's blade. The tall man's longcoat and trench coat blew due to a draft from between near trees, giving the appearance of two black seas tossing and turning. Though Flow's voice was serious, it was also quite inviting.

Katrina quivered beside Kuro. "Katrina, what's your favourite weapon?" Hilary was still trying to clean her scythe. "The Bow and Arrow! It lets me attack from a safe distance," explained Katrina. "True. True," muttered Hilary. "Hilary, what do you have against me?" "Dear Katrina, do you never listen? You've killed my grand-mother!" Hilary shouted. "You're lying!" "What I say is real," Hilary's voice calmed down. "You took mommy and daddy---I-I mean mother and father first!" "You can't deny the truth, Katrina." Katrina shrunk down. "That's better!" Hilary closed her eyes and began to clean once again. Katrina crawled to the front doors. "And if you dare try to escape, you're dead feathers!"

Kuro walked up to the leader and put out his katana. Before he could take it, it dissapeared in dark smoke. Smiling, Kuro turned to his animal form and dashed to the front doors, making sure to scratch Hilary's scythe before he did. Turning back to human at the doors, he grabbed Katrina's arm and ran full spead towards the clearing.

"Watch it, freak!" Hilary shrieked. "Gee. Like I didn't see that coming..." Hilary muttered. "Hey. What's this?" Hilary picked up a small pendant. "Katrina said she had nothing I wanted...the liar..." Hilary turned it over. A picture of a man and woman were on the back. Hilary smiled and carefully placed it on the floor. Hilary held her scratched scythe high, then smashed the pedant into six pieces.

"Slow down, Kuro! I almost lost my weapons!" Katrina shouted.

Silver stepped back. He didn't trust this at all.

"Yeah...how 'bout no?" He said, raising his blade slightly, "I'd rather continue on my own, thank you very much." The teen said, stepping back a few more steps to widen the space between him and Flow. Everything about the man reeked of something dark. His coat, his appearance, even his sword looked far more dangerous than he implied.

Kuro stopped on the middle of the clearing, panting. "S-sorry..." He stammered, his katana reappearing next to him as he sat down. He smiled. They had escaped. "We got out alive!" He laughed, laying down again. "Alive..." He repeated, looking up at the clouds. maybe we can really win....

"Hilary isn't that bad. Maybe she's just misunderstood...NO! She's heartless, evil, cruel, mean..." Katrina scolded herself. Katrina also lied down. "Kuro, I just realized...we have a chance to win!"

  • Author

"Yeah, we just might..." He said, still smiling. He closed his eyes. "I guess if I hadent saved you, you and I would probably be dead." He said, frowning. I hope this can go on.. If we don't lose, there boss would have a choice to leave, or perish. And all the light that fell into his hands will be returned." He smiled at the thought.

Katrina felt proud. She looked at her long-sword. She sighed. The sword was scratched, and it was bent. "My father gave this to me...just before he died. He fought a battle with Hilary. It was bestowed upon me with his dying breath." Katrina began to cry. "Father..."

Kuro noticed Katrina crying. Putting a hand on her shoulder, he said "hey, don't cry! I promise you, we will avenge your father's death, no matter what it takes!" He smiled confidently. "Hilary won't stand a chance against us."

"You sure? That scythe isn't a butter knife! It's cut a tree clean down before..." Katrina muttered. "Hilary thinks it's absolutely hilarious to see people in pain." She wiped a tear from her eye. "She's taken every thing I loved. Now...I'm next on her killing-list."

"Just because its sharp dosent mean we can't take it. It's not impossible." He said. "She dosent use it all the time." Kuro smiled. They did have a chance, after all.

"I'm going to believe you..." Katrina put her long sword back. "K-Kuro, how would you feel in both your parents died right in front of you?" She stood up and stared at the castle in the distance.

Kuro looked at the sky and frowned. "I would be very upset. I probably wouldn't be here now if they died..." He said truthfully.

"Really?" Katrina sat back down. She wanted to be with her mother and father. "I should forget about the past...and go on with my future!"

Flow turned aroung and laid his heavy sword on his shoulder. "Fine. There is power in numbers, but you must find your own way. Even if that way is getting your stomach ripped apart by savage beings of darkness." Flow walked off calmly, deserting Silver to his own destiny.

Later back the way he came, Flow set up camp in an area where the ground was an open space but a tangle of tree limbs hid the sky above. The man rested beside his blazing fire, easing his weary body.

"True." He said, smiling. It was starting to get dark again. He sighed. They couldn't go back to the hut, yet he didn't want to travel too long at night. "Let's go back to the hut. We can catch some sleep there, but tomorrow we have to find a new place to stay." He said, getting up and walking towards the hut. He made sure he grabbed his katana.

"Okay. We should be safe for now. Hilary is normally tame while plotting..." Katrina trailed off. "We should go now..."

Reaching the hut, he walked inside and waited for Katrina to come inside. He, again, turned to his animal form to sleep.
