Sora and MX are conversating inside Sorranort's body.
Sora: "Why are you doing this?"
MX: "I need Kingdom Hearts to reveal the untold secrets of the Keyblade War."
Sora: "Why take over my body?"
MX: "Because HE is a part of you."
Kairi is surprised by her savior. Namine recognizes him instantly. "Roxas!"
Roxas is facing the other way. "Kairi. Namine. More like him will come. Run while you still can!". Another dark portal opens. A Flood walks into the room.
Roxas says, "What is that? That's not a Lifeless!". All of a sudden hundreds of the Floods come in through the portal. A maniacal laugh is heard. "Hahahhahahahaha. Guess who's baaack?"
Master Eraqus, Aqua, and Ansem the Wise traveled to Castle Oblivion. When they open the door, they find Terra half conscious on the floor. He looks up, "A-Aqua?! M-Master Eraqus?!". He gets up and they all hug (awwww lol).
Aqua eventually finds the Chamber of Waking and sees Ven still sleep. Terra yelled, "Ven!", not knowing that Ven has no heart and is comatose. Aqua turns to the group and says, "We need Sora."
Sorranort is yelling at Master Kirai. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO Kingdom Hearts?!". Master Kirai says, "My brethren have devoured the hearts that make it up." Sorranort asks, "What are you?". "A being with no life, no heart. Just fear.". Sorranort brings out the X-Blade and says, "IT'S POWER IS MINE!". Master Kirai is surprised to see the X-Blade. "So.That is what you have come for."
"Friendship can conquer fear."
Vanitas steps out. "Well look who it is. Long time no see, Ven!".
Roxas, "Wait...who is Ven?"
Vanitas," Ohh you so your an impostor. But you can wield the Keyblade."
Roxas, "Who are you?!".
Vanitas, "The opposite of light".
Sorranort appears defeated. Master Kirai stands over him, about to deliver the final blow but Sorranort uses the X-Blade to lock Riku's heart. Master Kirai fades away since he cannot influence Riku any longer. Riku, "Sora?!". Sora briefly takes over Sorranort for a second. "Riku...please.. unlo-unlock my heart!". Riku brings out the Way to Dawn and unlocks Sorranort's heart, releasing Sora from MX's grip and also releasing MX's heart (and leading to the X-Blade being destroyed once again). Riku, "Sora are you ok?". Sora, "Now I am". MX's heart floats up to where Kingdom Hearts is and merges with it. As soon as Sora and Riku are about to walk away, Master Xehanort appears on top of Memory Skyscraper with his old body. He appears to be dying. "I am about to die, but before I do, I am going to finally reveal the secrets of the Keyblade War!". All of a sudden, what looks like to be a heart shower occurs, except they are souls. MX is fading away,but before he fades completely he says, "These are the 100,00 people who died in this war." Sora and Riku look down to see 100,000 Lifeless with Keyblades on the ground.
Aqua, Terra, Master Eraqus, and Ansem the Wise make it to the World that Never Was. They see Sora and Riku trying to fight all of the Lifeless. They join in the battle, (everyone besides Ansem the Wise of course). Even though they barely met, they work as a team and are able to defeat them all. After the battle, Aqua looks and Sora and says, "I'm so proud of you."
Sora looks at her and says, "Do I know you?".
While Roxas and Vanitas fight, Kairi and Namine run outside the mansion, only to be confronted by the Xion Lifeless. Xion's Lifeless wields her keyblade and tries to attack Kairi, but Kairi's keyblade appears out of nowhere in her hand and blocks the attack. Xion's Lifeless is surprised at Kairi's keyblade, but they still fight. In the end, Kairi defeats the Lifeless.
Back at The World that Never Was, Aqua explained everything to Sora, including the part about Ven's heart. So they head back to Castle Oblivion and release Ven's heart from Sora. Ven wakes up, everybody is happy, yadda yadda yadda. As soon as Ven wakes up, Roxas comes back to Sora instantly, but Vanitas follows.
When the whole group reaches the main hall of the castle so they can leave, Vanitas appears in the middle. He challenges Ven to one last battle. Vanitas summons the incomplete version of the X-Blade while Ven summons his original keybalde. Even though it is incomplete, the X-Blade was too much for Ven. While Ven was fighting, a voice inside his head said, "Use these in memory of my friends". Suddenly Ven's keyblade is replaced by the Oathkeeper and the Oblivion. Ven defeats Vanitas for a final time and that's the end of THAT story.
Trivia: How did Vanitas come back to life? When Master Kirai and the Lifeless filled Kingdom Hearts with darkness and fear, the Unversed were reborn in a sense because fear is a negative emotion and that's basically what an Unversed is. Since Vanitas was an Unversed, he was revived.
Why did MX die? He died because of his age and because his heart was overused in a sense because of all the body hopping.
Who was Master Kirai really? Master Kirai was the Lifeless of Riku, but he was a special Lifeless because Riku never had a Heartless or a Nobody. Master Kirai was born when all of the darkness was "destroyed" when Ansem's code generator blew up and wiped all of the darkness out of Riku's heart and soul. But that darkness never really was destroyed, it took form and became Master Kirai. The reason his hair and his skin was similar to Ansem SOD is because Ansem WAS the darkness in Riku's heart.
So you can say Vanitas and Kirai are kind of the same? In a way, yes.
Did Kirai have control over the Lifeless? Yes, he did considering he was the "first" one.
