Nick Reviews: Sword Art Online(spoilers)

Posted

Like a bolt from the blue, Its time for the Nick review.

Lets go back to Sunday September 1st at 9 am. Normally this is when I watch all of the anime I recorded on adult swim the night before. to my surprise, none did because of a movie that took up all that night. And I was looking forward to Sword Art Online (SAO from now on) So I did what any normal person would do. I spent all the rest of the day without break watching all 25 OVA episodes of the series online. Fair warning here: I have seen the ENTIRE THING now, I will be saying spoilers out the wazzo. (I still don't know what a Wazzo is.. someone tell me.) So lets get started. Now as this is a site dedicated to a AMAZING RPG I must guess anyone reading this already knows what a MMORPG is. But get this: VRMMORPG( virtual reality MMORPG) that is basically what SAO is. The characters at first to me seemed base and predictable. Little did I know that this was only because of the fact that their amazing character development wasn't starting yet. Especially Kirito: our somewhat nice anti-hero type guy that somehow seems to attract anything in a skirt in a 100 meter radius, But more on that later. Kirito, along with the many others playing SAO on its first day find themselves in a game where not only cant they log out, but if they die in this game they die IRL. As a gamer, this show caught my interest and there are many game like aspects about SAO that I found entertaining. 14 episodes later 2 years have gone by when the game is finally won by Kirito. In this 14 episode span he becomes a solo player badass and most importantly: falls in love with Asuna whom he marries in episode 11. their relationship was on I rooted for. They are the best couple ive seen in forever and they made me laugh, cry, or just made me speechless, sometimes all at once( wait that doesn't make sense.... watevs) The whole second season is all dedicated to saving Asuna from the most perverted evil douche of all time in a  new game where you play as a fairy. I know what your thinking. (wtf?) But it actually works. while season 2 doesn't have the amazing kick ass opening song. (which they made a English version of that is equally good.I will leave a link) It shows off a butt loud of new characters including leafa, a cute gamer that helps Kirito find his way to Asuna all the while not knowing Kirito is her brother. ( yeah that gets heavy later) Crap! im runningout of time here so im going to sum it up. Its action packed, funny and romantic. all in all best anime ive seen in 7 months. Igive SAO a 9 out of 10. Anyway, Like and comment if you enjoyed. tell me what I should review next. and as always. I will see you in the next review

BYE-HIIII. P.s watch both videos for the amazing opening.
