In Japan's feudal era, noble families often had retainers. Other families of lower rank, solely devoted to serving their masters. Today, such family ties remain, though often less formal, or otherwise forgotten. But one girl in particular will meet her retainer for the first time, and it'll turn her life upside down.

"Show off." Akise scoffed.

She took Sasuke's hand anyway, smiling a bit.

Sasuke had no comment as he escorted his mistress down the stone steps.

He had to admit, it was rather rash of him to do such a thing.

Nothing was said as the two of them reached the bottom of the stairs.

Akise looked up at Sasuke a bit confused, tilting her head a bit.

"Are you okay Sasuke...?" she asked.

"I'm sorry for what I've said..." Akise added. 

"There is no need to apologize." He told Akise.

They had reached the bottom of the stairs. Sasuke let go of her hand. "We're almost there."

Akise nodded, heading in the direction of the cafe, letting Sasuke fallow her.

"You're enrolling in my school...aren't you?" she asked.

Akise looked up at Sasuke.

"Does that mean you'll be living with me too....?" she asked quietly. 

"I'll be speaking with your father about that." Sasuke replied bluntly.

"I'll, at the very least, be given residence nearby."

Akise slowly nodded, focusing on the road ahead.

"He'll be LIVING WITH ME?!!! What are we!? A married couple or something?! He isn't my butler or boyfriend or something!! Who does this guy think he is?!" she thought. 

Sasuke tilted his head a bit. "Are you all right, Akise? You seem tense."

He moved ahead of her and placed a hand on her forehead.

Akise meet eyes with Sasuke, her face imminently turning red with a blush. 

"I'm okay..." she muttered.

"You're embarrassing Sasuke....people are watching us too..." Akise said.

There were people passing by them, staring at the two. 

"You seem to be running a fever, Akise." Sasuke said sternly.

"I suggest that we take you home."

"I-I am?" Akise asked, rather shocked.

She hadn't felt good this morning, and she wondered why she didn't want to eat. 

"If I do have to go home....will you stay there with me...?" she asked, looking at Sasuke. 

"I can say for sure that I'll be escorting you there." Sasuke replied, taking Akise's hand and veering off course towards her house.

"I'll also be speaking with your father once we put you to rest."

Akise stepped slightly closer to Sasuke, soon enough, they reached her house.

"Father....this is Sasuke." Akise said letting go of Sasuke's upon entering the door.

"He is a friend." she said seriously, stepping in with him. 

Sasuke bowed deeply. "I am at you and your daughter's disposal, sir." He said, humbly.

"However, Miss Akise is falling ill and I feel that her condition is of the utmost priority."

"You can come in....just don't do anything you shouldn't." Akise's father stated. 

Akise nodded, beginning to lead Sasuke upstairs. 

"Anything we shouldn't?" Sasuke silently asked himself. He shook the matter aside.

"Where' scour room?" He asked Akise bluntly. "We'll lay you down and you can rest from then."

"Follow me." Akise said seriously, reaching her room.

Second door to the left upstairs.

"It's a bit messy but it will do." She said, opening the door and stepping in.

Akise faced Sasuke.

"Thank you Sasuke for what you've done for me today." She said with a smile.

"No need to thank me." Sasuke replied. He quickly retraced the route in his head. "I suggest you change into some more comfortable clothes and get some rest." He told her. "I'll leave you your privacy and go downstairs and speak with your father." Sasuke exited, closing the door behind him. "Lord Motoyo?" He asked as he came downstairs.

Akise nodded, changing into a white tanktop and some black pajama shorts. She did as Sasuke said, laying down and going under her covers. She stared at the door, staying silent.

Akise's father looked at Sasuke.

"So Sasuke....you are my daughters retainer." he said seriously.

Sasuke got down on one knee, bowing to Akise's father.

"Yes, sir. I am at you and your daughter's disposal, Lord Motoyo."

"We have an extra room, Akise is an only child and this is a three bedrooms in this house. Don't do anything perverted to Akise and you'll be okay. The room is across from Akise's." he said, looking at Sasuke.

"Watch over here until she falls asleep, okay?" Her father asked. 

"Yes, sir!" Sasuke said. He stood, bowed, and went back upstairs. He knocked twice before entering. "Your father has left me with orders to watch over you until you're asleep." He said, before even checking to see if he wasn't already. Hopefully he didn't wake her if she was.

"That so?" Akise asked, staring at Sasuke.

"Is he letting you stay here? What about your family? Won't they be worried?" she asked.

Sasuke sat down in a chair near her bed. "I'm staying in the room directly across from here. As for my family... All I can really say about my family is that it's my name. I've been moving from one Sohma home to another preparing to assimilate with the Motoyo family. No one will worry because there's no one to worry about me."

"But if something happened to you Sasuke...I'd worry about you!" Aksie said, looking at Sasuke.

She was obviously worried for him.
