What's up,

 

My name is Jordan Fountain and I haven't really posted here since I was really into BBS when it came out. 

 

I am a film student at the University of Nebraska and I think I want to do a Kingdom Hearts fan film for my thesis.

 

I want to make a very professional looking short film that has a darker/more serious tone. Sorta like the tone of Christopher Nolan Batman films.

 

I was wondering what you guys thought? Do you have any ideas? Things you would like to see?

 

I was thinking it would be cool to have a new set of characters that exist in the same universe as Kingdom Hearts, but grounded more in reality. (not anime character types)

 

I thought it would be cool to have the character discover the key blade, and maybe go to the american alice megee alice in wonderland world.

 

Do some badass live action keyblade fight scenes?

 

If I did do this, I would write it (hopefully with you guys' help) next Spring. Shoot a concept video with test visual effects over the summer of 2014, and create the short film in the fall of 2014 with a release in the spring of 2015.

How about hearing the stories of 'normal' warrior/soldier type people trying to fight the darkness, but will ultimately fail unless a keyblade wielder steps in. Like... the only reason why the worlds that we know still exist is because of countless numbers of sacrifices from people just trying to protect their worlds?

 

It's like Star Wars. Instead of following the stories of the Jedi (aka keyblade warriors) you do a grim dark story about the clone troopers (regular world soldiers...)

A keyblade wielder is required to save the world. And when a wielder finally arrives, you know people celebrate, rally around them, heroically sacrifice themselves to assist the wielder and the wielder gets immortalized into legend while the regular soldiers get a statue of sorts but are inevitably forgotten as time passes by.

 

But if a wielder isn't expected to come to the world (remember there are only so many wielders and a lot more worlds), like the soldiers just look at each other with the realization that they're all gonna die anyway and either give in or fight to the bitter end. They realize that they never had a chance to survive, merely delaying the inevitable as the world around them gets consumed. You know, pull at the heartstrings as a soldier with an arrow-rifle looks at a picture of his family as a mental monologue ensues, somewhere along the lines of "I guess the wielders deemed us and this world unworthy of being saved...." as like a sea of darkness surrounds them.

 

Cliche, but awesome if you can pull off the effects.
