I think the series has been going on longer than it should. I understand it's Square's cash cow, but I think it is time for them to focus on other games (like Kingdom Hearts and all the other RPGs they never touched in years, hell even a new IP). Final Fantasy is becoming the next Bleach. I mean, it has had it's fun in the beginning, but enough is enough too much is not good.

I'll let Final Fantasy 15 fly with this one (I still wish it go away so Kingdom Hearts 3 will come out before I graduate) but after that... ugh.

The problem with Final Fantasy now is that the series has lost a lot of it's steam thanks to the abomination duo of FFXIII and the first version of FFXIV

What has been regarded as the Mother of all JRPGs has become a mockery and with it the JRPG scene started to fall down

Yes XIII sold a lot(though the sales are pathetic compared to Pokemon HGSS which was released in the same year and sold more despite being a remake)

But the reputation of the series has fallen into a deep abyss.

And Yes I'm aware FFXV can restore the series to it's former glory, but let me ask you for a sec.

Did XV generate the same huge amount of excitement that Final Fantasy VII did on it's Ps1 debut????No,not even close

During it's long ass development period as Versus XIII,the hype started dying slowly and even though the E3 trailer brought back some of it....it's just isn't as big as it was when it was first announced....7 years of silence and little to no information until 2013 has reduced the hype for it tremendously

Even if XV succeed,I doubt Final Fantasy would be as big and influencial as it was before on the industry anymore.

When I look back at previous titles and how awesome they were despite the huge technical limitation they had on SNES,Ps1 and Ps2 I just frown and say:Square, what happened to you???

You had more than you needed to create the ultimate Final Fantasy experience so many times but you always miss such chance.FFXV could've possibly released on Ps3 as scheduled if it wasn't for the lack of communication and the poor management of Square Enix.

I bet if Hironobu Sakaguchi was still there he would've figured something out...yeah he was responsible for the horrible FF the Spirit Within movie that forced Square soft to fuse with Enix...but at least he knew how to make a good game(except FF8 that game is awful)

have you tried XIV: a realm reborn? It's the roots of a final fantasy game only an MMO and honestly it feels like a return. I personally am glad 15 is taking it's time so that they can make the best possible game that they can make with a great story and awesome gameplay. Hype at least for me for 15 has never been higher.

I know A Realm Reborn is great but it doesn't guarantee that the roller coastering of the quality would stop.

I hope XV won't have a sequel and they move on to XVI

Also, please please I want FF16 to be in Medivel settings again,I missed those a lot
