1. Midnight Winter

 

Hello my name is Midnight Winter and I am not your normal 16 year old girl. I am a very rare but powerful supernatural being in the world. I am part angel, vampire and soul shifter. You are wondering what a soul shifter is so I am going to tell you. A soul shifter is someone who can shift into many animal forms like a wolf, lion, tiger, panther, and many others. My crazy but loving friend Jack Crawford is a shy boy, but I love him. All I got to say is who knew that my best friend will turn out to be my mate.

 

"Jack Come on and hurry up we are going to be late for school! If you are not down here in five minutes I am coming up there and dragging your ass to school with what you have on! And you know I will no kidding!" I yelled from our living room.

2. Jack

"... no kidding!!"

No kidding, huh? 

I mumbeled to myself, my long hair sticking to my face: stupid hair dye... SUCH a dumbass move to dye my hair white. 

Oh well... it looked bitchin, so I guess I got a break. 

" I'm coming in there!" 

I looked down at myself: nothing but boxers that had sunfaded. 

Jumping from the bed, I dashed through the mess on the floor to the bathroom, slamming the door and locking it behind me to prevent being dragged off naked to school. 

Gasping through a cold shower, I massaged my neck: my fangs slipped out easily, 

reacting to the cold with a slight tingle. 

Dry, dress, sunblock, sunglasses, stake, blood pack...

K, another day, ready to start. 

3. Midnight

 

-growls- "Jack you better hurry your pale ass up!" I yelled on the stairs. "If you are not down here in three minutes. I am coming up there and dragging your ass to school by your freaken blinding white ass hair!" I wait for him three minutes and I began to climb the stairs stomping up them to let him know I am pissed off. "Jack I am coming up there to get you. You three minutes are up!" I am hungry for something to eat, but it is not food. I have to wait until we get to school before I can grab a bite to eat.

4 Jack 

" You told me I looked ' dashing'." I teased, as SHE entered: Midnight, my roomie. 

Hair as black as ravens wings, eyes the colour of night fog....

And demanding. 

" Get your pale ass READY!" 

She squeezed my hoodie, and the blood pack inside burst, spraying red on her hands and the floor. 

She looked at me, shocked. 

" Uh... er....." 

5. Midnight

 

"Jack?" I calmly asked. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ALL OVER MY DANM HANDS?!" I slowly began to raise my voice. The smell hit me like a ton of bricks it was the smell of blood. My eyes changed from a night fog to red. "Sorry Jack, but I have to go run in the woods." -runs out of the dorm and into the woods and I shift to my midnight black wolf in mid step- While I was running I wonder why Jack had a packet of blood in his jacket pocket. I am sad because Jack is dating someone and he don't even know that I am his mate. Good thing he don't know about me at all. -stops at a secret hidden waterfall- Maybe I can wash off here.

" That went... well." 

I sighed. 

The blood smell hit me like a ton of bricks, as Midnight dashed off, muttering something I barely caught. 

When the door had slammed, I got down on my belly and lapped up the blood pack, 

needing the nourshment to get through the day. 

No biggie: a box of doughnuts in the fridge had " strawberry " icing in them. 

That'd hold me intill classes. 

5. Midnight

 

Once I shifted back in to my human form I called Jack. I dialed his number. "Please pick up." I said. *rings* "Come on pick up." *rings* "Please pick up." *rings*

6. 

" ... calling me... some one is calling me.."

My cell rang half~way down the block, as I ate the delicatable " strawberry " jam out of a doughnut. 

I flipped it open, paged past my Jack Frost in red snow pic that a friend of mine had drawn with an easy thumb swipe, and answered non~chalantly. 

" Hey, this is Jack. "

" Hello? Hello?"

I was irritated: only breathing on the other end. 

" I'm hanging up in 3...2...."

9. Midnight

 

"Jack. Hey it is Midnight." -laughs shyly- "I need you to meet me in the woods behind our dorm."

" Wh..what? Oh... uhmm... sure. Be there in a few. Laters, babe." 

I hung up, and popped my cherry~red ipod earbuds in, cranking Cemetery Gates, by Pantera. 

I felt my fangs itch, as Susanna Morkley, the sexiest chick at Hamilton High, walked by, 

butt squished to within an inch of its life in too small jeans. 

 

Her butt was not what I was watching: the delicate, blood giving vein in her neck was. 

My fangs lowered, itching. 

 

I suppresed the Hunger, and headed out to meet up with Midnight.

11. Midnight

 

My heart pounded when he called me babes. He never called me that before. He normally he would answer his phone like this, " Hello! This is Hell speaking. How may I kill you today?" Every time I called him he would do that and I would laugh my ass off. Might as well lay down and rest before Jack comes and meets me. -lays down on the ground in wolf form and falls asleep-

I wasn't sure why I'd said " babes": my " Hi this is Hell" always cracked Midnight up, and the time I'd said " Larry's Ho House, one Ho or two?" She'd almost busted a lung laughing. 

Whatever was up, it must be important. 

"... the red red rose, of time.."

As if sensing a touch of irony was needed, Love Song For a Vampire began playing.

" Touche, ipod." , i said irritatedly, as I headed to Blair Woods to meet up with Midnight, sipping " cherry " koolaid from my water bottle, and enjoying the day.

13. Midnight

I was dreaming of me and Jack getting married. I hate that Jack has another lover. -still asleep in wolf form-

14. Jack

Darkness, as usual, calm and cool.

"..intill the end of time.."

" shut up, Annie Lerox!"

I snapped, yanking the headphones out, dropping my " water " in the process.

" Son of a...$%#$%@%$@E....."

I let out a few choice swears, enough to be slapped by a nun should one have been there, then looked around for Midnight. 

15. Midnight

 

-still asleep in midnight wolf form wait for Jack to come- keeps dreaming about being with Jack as his mate and not his friend or roommate or whatever else.

16. 

I walked along the wooded path, humming to myself. 

" Hey Jack!"

I turned to the voice, and gasped: I felt the handle of the polished stake, feeling its icy tip as it slowly killed me. 

" Filthy vamp... "

I fell forwards on my knees, retching up blood, as the figure left. 

I collapsed, staring up at the sun, and waited to die. 

17. Midnight

 

I woke up to the smell of blood. The first thing that came into my mind was Jack. No one have better not messed with my mate. -runs toward the smell of blood- When I got there I seen a filthy Vampire near my mate. Oh Hell Na! That just Pissed me off. I let my wolf take over and kill that nasty vampire. My wolf started growl and snarl. Her fur started to bristle. Oh firetruck! She knocked down the other vamp and put up a fighting stance in front of Jack our mate.

18.

I was dying: I knew it. 

The rouge vamp, hair dirty, tangled, a fiery orange, snarled down at me, her kill. 

She must've assumed me to be competition in blood or some other craziness, and the bitch staked me. 

As my vision dwindled, I saw... Midnight... no.. a wolf.

Everything faded to black. 

19. Midnight

 

My wolf Pire and I killed the vamp that hurt our mate. We walked over to Jack and nudge him.

Darkness....

so cold....

wait... a light.....

 

It's not time. You're needed back home. 

 

 

 

I sat up, gasping, clutching my heart: besides a perfectly good shirt ruined and some dried blood on my chest, there was no wound. 

A whine made me turn: a wolf sat next to me, a pretty she~wolf with...

 

It took off, whining and yipping, but the image of Midnight's eyes in that wolf's body refused to leave my mind. 

21. Midnight

 

I ran back into the woods to shift and put some clothes on then I ran back to Jack. As I ran back to Jack I yelled, "Jack! Jack are you hurt?!"

22. 

" Jack! Jack, are you hurt?"

 Crap... Midnight...

 

" Just a second!" 

I called, trying to clean up the blood.

 

" Oh my god! Jack!"

 

Uh oh... 

23. Midnight

 

"Jack why did that -growls out- Vampire hurt you?" I asked. -Pire will you stop pacing please?!-

" Vam... VAMPIRE?"

I burst out laughing. 

" What do you think this is, Buffy The Vampire Slayer?"

I stood, shakey. 

" I hit a tree limb, tore my skin. No biggie." 

She had to call my bluff: Humans couldn't ever know vampires....

 

" Don't give me that bull. Did that rouge vamp hurt you bad?"
