( Finally: my crazy ideas have a home. K, here's the deal:This is MY KH: we're talkin' genre cross~overs, mashups, and some startling OOC revelations. Don't worry: I won't screw with the KH canon too much. ;)  )

My sanctuary, where fears and lies, melt away...

Prolouge: Onward

So much to say, so little time...

This journey began with a quest for a King, and stretched across the universe itself; friendships were tested, bonds formed, battles won...

And hearts changed forever.

The main reason this whole thing started was the day My islands were destroyed by Darkness: terrible creatures known as Heartless ruined my home, and took Riku away in a pool of Dark matter.

How do I know this?

Well...

I was there: My name is Sora, Sora John Rimbauer.

I guess you'd call me the " Keybearer", but " Sora's " fine with me.

You probably know everything that's happened, and know about Xehanort's plans; for the sake of all worlds, he has to be stopped.

Our journey began, as all do, with a single step.......

Chapter 1: Frozen In Dreams

Walking hurt: moving hurt: EVERYTHING hurt.

I didn't remember much about the battle, only the feeling of being encased in armour; Riku kept helping me walk, wincing at every sound I made.

Yen Sid had refused to heal me; " Battle wounds are a Keybearer's source of pride, Sora." He'd intoned.

" Sora... about this.."

I glanced at Riku, those aqua~marine eyes blinking stupidly at me from under his silvery hair: worry wort.

It had to be done; Using my thumb, I pressed on his nose.

" Boop."

He laughed, unable to resist that old joke.

" You're such a kid."

" A kid who beat the crap out of the 7 Sleeping Keyholes."

Riku shook his head, supressing a grin.

" Touche."

The rising sun marched steadily over the outlying mountains ahead, it's brilliant glare showing only too well the scratches on Riku's cheek, the holes in his clothes, the blood splashes on my own, my hand torn open on the palm, half~dried blood creating a crusty scab.

" We look like crap."

Riku's laughter echoed through the hills.

" Well put. "

" It's true."

Riku gazed ahead, the orange glare reflecting glassily in his eyes, his hair sweeping across his face in the light wind the blew off the outlying lands, scented distantly of pine and sea salt.

" We need to get back to Disney Castle, check in. Didn't Mickey say Maleficent kidnapped Minnie briefly?"

Wiping some blood off my hand, I shook my head.

" They handled it; she was after Data~Scape data. For the worlds."

" Oh.."

He said nothing then, as we limped along the road.

" ... the road to the dawn..."

" What?"

I stared at him, not sure of what it was I'd said.

" I don't know... popped into my head. Stupid.... "

Riku smiled, his eyes, eyes that had seen too much for a 16~year~old, crinkling at the corners.

" You're such a kid, Sora, you know?"

I had to do it:

" Boop."

                                 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ventus slept, and as he slept, he dreamed, and as he dreamnt, he saw all.
He knew of Sora, but his sleeping state wouldn't allow him to fully make the connection as to why his heart connected to his, or why Roxas shared his voice and face.
Dimly, the fact Aqua was probably dead bothered him, but dreams simply washed all feeling away, like water down a stormdrain.
Terra's face appeared and vanished, along with Cinderella's, Aurora's, Snow White's, Maleficent's...
and a glimmer his connected heart called " Kairi."
Chapter 2: Destiny
Kairi simply shuffled through the days, Lea's presence unable to help her grief, confusion, and mistrust of her new Keyblade powers, or of the foretold final battle ever approaching with Xehanort.
Chapter 2: Destiny
Kairi simply shuffled through the days, Lea's presence unable to help her grief, confusion, and mistrust of her new Keyblade powers, or of the foretold final battle ever approaching with Xehanort.
" Kairi.... you need to just.."
" Just what, Lea? Wait? What the Hell did you think I DID for the past year? God, if you got ANY dumber..."
This, as they walked along the beach of the old islet, Lea's legs bare beneath shorts, sea salt stuck in the fine red fuzz along them.
" I'm... I'm sorry." She said softly,
her gaze naturally shifting to the outlying reaches of the ocean beyond the sand, as it had for that long, dreadful, aching year.
" It's alright: this... "
Lea searched for his words, unsure of what to say: he'd been out of the world as an Organization pawn for so long, consoling people was NOT a strong suit of his.
"... we're all suffering here: this thing is... big. This battle isn't going to be won easily."
As Kairi watched the buffering waves, a crystaline tear fell from her cheek, catching a yellow sun~ray as it fell to glow like a jewel before splashing onto the sand below.
" I know... I know..."
Chapter 3: Dreaming to Awaken
Ventus dreamed, and as he dreamed, he knew...
He knew that Maleficent wasn't dead.
He knew Terra was.
He knew Aqua was dying.
And he knew....
Ventus opened his eyes, blue as the ocean, after ten years of peaceful rest.
The castle was silent around him, as he stood on shaky legs.
He hadn't aged, but his dreams had aged his mind.
Walking slowly, he left the Chamber of Repose, and began his climb down Castle Oblivian's 13 staircases.
Chapter 4 Fight in The Half~Light
Riku dozed in the half light, Sora's loud snoring echoing through the outlying hills.
He stretched,the sun catching his silver hair, making it shine: it was getting long again.
Scratching his stomach, he glanced over at Sora, sound asleep, drool running out of his open mouth.
Needing to use the bathroom, Riku wandered several yards into the trees, and didn't see the Shadow, creeping up on Sora's sleeping form.
Chapter 5: Nightmare Realized
Sora ran through the blinding sun, chasing after Kairi on the beach of the islet that meant so much.
He wore only a bathing suit, his body hardened and tanned from days in the sun, athletic enough to do battle when needed.
Kairi kept calling out to him, then darting away, sending him around bushes and trees, and even up and down the watchtower.
" Sora! Can't catch me! Can't catch me! I see you!"
He bent over, brushing sand of his legs, vaugely annoyed at how it clung to the thin hair on them, then took off again,
racing after her, his shoulder blades burning with strength under the hot glare of the sun.
" Can't catch me! Can't catch me!"
