( Since I've been doing a lot of short one~shots lately, I've decided to quit accidentally flooding the Creative Media thread and just do a collection of them in one post. This is gonna be darker stuff, which is why I've called it " Garden Of Shadows": My fav ship, Jalice, will be here, KH stuff that's kinda twisted, fantasy stuff, and maybe Jack Freeze. Hopefully you all enjoy them ,as much as I enjoy writing them. )

The Beast Within ( 17 for violence, blood, demented images, and nudity reference * gasp :O *)

Hungry...

Want food....

Warm....

Why is it cold....

Don't like cold....

The ice cracked around me, and I clawed my way out, shivering in the loose cloak around me.

I was naked otherwise, a bad move for winter.

Wrapping myself up, I glanced around, taking in trees, rocks...

no people or  buildings.

Where....

I raised my face to the sky, seeing the cold blue moon shining down on me, expressionless, full, like a dropped coin hovering on the horizon.

Don't hold it in...

" Wha... wh...what?"

My voice was gruff, almost a growl, words hard to get out.

Let it loose. Let it free...

I tossed my head back, and let loose a loud howl, scattering birds and small animals.

I howled at the snow,

I howled at the moon...

I howled for the sake of being alive.

Good... good... Now, you must find more decent attire: you can't go running around unclothed in this weather.

Why not?

Because it's not civilized.

I was directed to a small clearing by the voice, which spoke to me wordlessly: a merchant, his silks and satin rugs spread carelessly about, lay snoring, clothed in breeches and a wide linen shirt.

Kill him, take the clothes.

He didn't do anything.

Do it anyway; merchants are a dime a dozen.

I crept up on him, as he snored loudly, smelling of sweat, grease, and far~off lands, his skin stained with road dirt.

Crawling up on him, I stared at his face, his eyes flickering in dreams.

They opened as I bit into the jugular, staring at me in shock as the life drained away.

Good, good.... now, take his clothes, and anything else you need.

( Each story gets its own post: no quotes. Outta ideas for the sec ,so here this. )

Darkened Rose

The castle had slumbered many years, since the dark curse fell upon it a thousand years before, sending all within into the slumber of the dead.

Inside, walls crumbled, doors rotted, floors buckled...

and whatever walked there, walked alone.

Tapestries of years gone by still clung to the walls, more moss and mold than cloth after the harsh years.

The roses grew wild, tangled around everything;

deep purple in colour, intoxicating in smell, the roses meant death to anyone who dared touch, as the corpses strung up in the vines on the Northern wall proved all to well.

Many knights had attempt to breach the castle, but none had made it passed the deadly briers.

( Non~scary, but sad. FEELS R COMING PEEPS!!!)

From The Ice Returned

I watched, unable to do a thing ,as the already thin ice gave way, his smile still on his face even as his eyes widened in terror, free~falling backwards into the icy waters below.

" Jack!" I yelled, running forward, crying, screaming...

It was too late: he was gone.

I wandered through the village, crying my eyes out, clutching Jack's skates to my chest like a teddy bear.

The fires had been light, as the sun slowly sank below the horizen.

My brother was dead, I knew: no one could have survived the icy chill of that water, trapped beneath the ice.

I stumbled home, tears freezing on my face, to mother's warm arms, the small room Jack and I had always shared, and the warmth of the firehearth.

                                                             ********************************************************************************

Darkness...

It was cold...

And I was scared.

But then... heh... then I saw the moon.

It was so BIG, and so BRIGHT; it seemed to chase the darkness away.

My name is Jack Frost.

How do i know that?

Because the moon told me so.

And THAT, was a long, long time ago...

WINTER: 1912, Ireland.

She was dying: after 100 years of life, Hannah was leaving this world.

She'd never quite gotten over the death of her brother, Jack, still re~living him falling into the icy waters of Lake Linoge all those years ago, the body never turning up even when the Spring thaws came.

As she lay on her deathbed, she watched the pretty fern~patterns of frost cover the window... as a young man stared in at her.

A very familiar young man...

Her brother: Jack Overland.

" Jack... you came back to me."

He opened the window, and entered the room, snowflakes dusting through the air.

" You can see me?"

She nodded her frail head, smiling at him.

" I've always believed you would come back to me... I just didn't think it would take you so long."

He leaned forward to kiss her cheek; when he left her, she was still.

Outside, a young girls giggle echoed through the slowly falling snowflakes, dying away as an echo on the wind.

Lonely Are The Snows

She walked, tired, cold, far from home and out of luck.

The bus depot had thrown her out at midnight: company policy, no stragglers, regardless if she was waiting for the 5 am bus.

Snowflakes, each uniqe and beautiful, fluttered past her face,

catching annoying in her eyelashes as she held her arms for warmth, seeking refuge from the cold winter winds.

The forecast called for more of this, icing over the sidewalks into deadly ice~slicks.

Cold, she shivered, clutching her thin arms to her chest,

walking past stores twinkling with Christmas bulbs and holy.

" I'm Mr. White Christmas, I'm Mr. Snow...'

She watched the Snow Mizer dance for a moment,

the television in Pete's Electric Barn only just clear enough to see the old Year Without A Santa Clause special,

blearily shown to any passers~by in an attempt at Christmas cheer in a harsh world.

Birthday

It was his birthday, but no one knew, as he ran through the faint light of the dawn, desperate to get to shelter before the sun rose.

As he ran, panting, scared, cold, and frightened, the course of events that had brought him here ran through his mind....

" so... big 2~0, ehhh? You're so freaking OLD, Scott. "

" Lay off, before I smack you."

His friend, John, smirked, as the pair walked home from Concord College's darkened campus, headed to the rat~hole apartment they both shared in a small complex a mile outside campus know loving as " Death By Rats " by the students.

" Oh, go to Hell..."

They walked on, a light snow dusting the sidewalks in glittering white, the street lamps casting dim orange circles of light over the slowly darkening streets.
