False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

(I'm eating for sliver and the gang...)

(I've been waiting for some other people to post, but here. Might as well and see if I can jumps-start this thing.)

"I...do not see why not." Horizon replied, putting a hand on the hilt of his weapon. Often, unlike most Keyblade wielders, Horizon had his weapon sheathed by his side. He still summoned it from time to time, but it was easier to look threatening by keeping it by his side.

"I can sense a dark feeling hanging over the tavern." Horizon murmured, clutching his keyblade's hilt tight.

(My bad, I don't have a lot of free time now so I won't be able to contribute for a bit >.<)

"Okay then." Severa said. She gazed up at the stars above. She couldn't help but feel that something was approaching. The lights maybe?

Lyon nodded. "We should continue quietly. If they spot us before we spot them, then they'll have a chance to get away." Lyon reasoned, approaching the tavern. Soon, she was within earshot of the tavern. The Enforcer turned, put her lips to her mouth, before continuing into the tavern. Lyon sat at the bar discreetly, and began searching with her eyes for signs of the Rebels. Most of them would probably be in their rooms by now, but she would check here first.

((Yeah I had school so I couldn't post frequently as well. I'm so glad it's over for now.))

Just as I master another technique, I can undoubtedly sense the Enforcers.

"They're here?" I muse aloud, heading back into the tavern.

None of the doors to the rooms look as if they've been tampered with, so odds are everyone's still resting. Checking the lobby nothing seems out of the ordinary, I turn to check the bar and sure enough- there's a girl donning an Enforcer uniform sitting there.

My heart's racing- this is it, another fight's gonna start now, the difference this time being my opponent having more skills; the badge she wears signifies this.

Taking a breath, I gather my courage and walk up to her. Odds are she won't want to mince words with a rebel, so I cut right to the chase when I reach her. "Why don't we take this outside so no one gets hurt?" She can probably already sense my darkness, so I figure she'll understand I'm one of her targets.

Kirito saw Lyon talking to one of the rebels. "Scum..." He clenched his hand. "Thier existence threatens all order of light..." He turned to

Horizon. "I can take that one on, sir..." He walked toward Lyon and the girl.

(How's everyone?)

(About to do something I might regret...)

Severa felt the Lights really close now. She looked over towards the front of the inn, and spotted a figure. Horizon. Severa shook Harumi awake. "Get up. Get everyone out, and quick. I'll hold off Horizon, but there should some more of them." Severa whispered quickly, continually glancing over to Horizon. She stood fully again, and jumped off the roof, down to where the Enforcer stood. "Hey Hori. Heard you were the one that brought my friend Ryonne to his knees. I think a fight would be fun." Severa said, almost taunting. She drew her blade, and summoned dark flames in her other. She grinned, delight dancing in her eyes. Oh, this would be fun.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Lyon stood, and nodded towards Kirito. "Yes, do that. I'm going to find the others of this pathetic group." Lyon spoke coldly. She didn't like being so ruthless, but she had to. The scare tactics were necessary. Lyon walked up the stairs. They creaked under her. The Enforcer found opened every door she came across, looking for rebels. Finally, she came across a sleeping Ryonne. Lyon grinned, and snapped her fingers. Chains of light bound Ryonne to the bed. She sauntered cockily to his bedside, and kneeled down to his face. "Wake up sweetie." She whispered. Ryonne woke with a start, and struggled against the chains. Understanding soon sunk into his eyes.
"Let me go." Ryonne spoke forcefully, grimacing at Lyon. Lyon gave him a sympathetic grin.
"I'm afraid I can't do that. But I'm supposed to ask this before every kill. Do you have any last wishes?" Lyon asked Ryonne.
"Die you bi..."
"That's enough." The sound of a clean slice could be heard and Ryonne stopped talking. He breathed once more, his eyes full of desperation. Then he moved no more. Lyon snapped her fingers, and light stretched over Ryonne's body. The light vanished in a flash, and the body was gone.
"Enh?" Harumi blinked, looking up. Horizon..? Eh..what? She thought, blinking when the sudden immense pressure of two powers swept over her. Two Enforcers had arrived. Both extremely powerful and likely weren't interested in letting anyone escape this time.
Harumi stood up, her mind still clouded and foggy. She could barely think, even as she pulled out her katana. "Gotta help.."
~
Horizon sighed. This went to hell rather quickly. He grumbled as he unsheathed his sword, watching Kirito and Lyon go off. One part of Horizon hoped Lyon would be paired with him for further jobs--she was an interesting and -dare he say it- fun person.
The Enforcer shook his head. No time for such trivial thoughts.
He blinked, realizing someone had been speaking to him. He turned to the speaker--a near-teen girl. Wonderful. "Oh? You mean Ryonne, I think? Yes, he was an excellent match."
Ren heard… no, felt a silence, a death. He ran to prove himself wrong. To conclude that it was just paranoia.
But he heard it. And felt it. The sword slice. The light. The anger, hatred, and grief overwhelmed him.
"YOU…RAGGHHHH!" He shouted. It was bloodcurdling, as dark aura exuding from him. "IM GOING TO KILL YOU!" His eyes turned yellow, and he charged at the girl.
(You did see my most recent post, right Silver?)
Lyon turned to see a boy. He reeked of darkness. His eyes were yellow, and a shroud of darkness was over him. Lyon easily parried the charge, and shoved the boy away. Lyon's other hand glowed with light. "A Rebel? That has immersed himself in the darkness?" Lyon spoke, her voice full of superiority. She raised her glowing hand, and bolts of light shot out from it, homing in towards Ren. Lyon gripped Redemption.
(I did, was there anything I missed?)
(Severa talked to Harumi, and then started to antagonize Horizon)
(Severa talked to Harumi, and then started to antagonize Horizon)
(Sorry! I think staying up so late is bad for my brain...I fixed it.)
Ren rose up looking bestial."YOU…MURDED HIM!" Ren said "YOU MURDED…MY FRIEND! DIE!" Thousands of ethereal blades were shot at Lyon, creating craters and dust. He let out a bestial cry, wich could be heard all around port royal.
Lyon raised her hand in the nick of time to create a shield of light around her. It deflected all of the blades, until it broke and the last one flew towards her. She knocked it out of the air with her keyblade. She looked back over towards the boy. "Murder? It was more along the lines of an execution." She said calmly. Inside, se was freaking out. The darkness was so strong in the boy, unlike anything she had seen before. But she couldn't show any kind of weakness. That would be giving her opponent an advantage. Lyon dashed towards the dark boy, and sliced horizontally, channeling light though her keyblade.
"Well, are we going to fight or what? After all, you can't let me go, can you? I'm sure the boss wouldn't be too happy with you if you made that mistake twice." Severa spoke each word with as much sass as possible. She put a lot of effort into her body language as well, putting her hands on her hips, and glaring at him with her eyes. Then, a malicious grin filled her face. "I'll let you get the first attack, since I'm such a lady." Severa spoke again haughtily.
Horizon looked over the girl. Haughty and outrageously cocky. The type who would laugh and mock during the battle.
"If you say so." Horizon murmured, and in one instant he appeared before Severa, having covered a distance of several feet within a millisecond. His keyblade rested on Severa's shoulder, his eyes looking down at his fist.
"I like to know my opponents name before I end them. You already know mine, apparently."
Ren parried the slice, and as soon as she was caught off guard, punched her in the face."YOUR HEART…FOR HIS HEART!" He screamed.
Kirito stopped Light. "Your opponent is me, you scum!" He shouted, blade drawn.
Edited by DEADACCOUNT2333
Severa grinned at Horizon. "Severa. Severa Orem." She was still confident, despite her being in a very bad position. Severa spawned a dark corridor under her feet and reappeared at Horizon's back. Her sword's point was on his back. Severa yawned. "I expected a little more fight of you personally. Guess I was wrong. If you would kindly lean backwards a bit so I can get to bed." Severa could only hope that her taunting would tick him off just as it angered Ryonne whenever they sparred. She had never been as stoic as him, preferring to be loud and obnoxious, leaving nothing to be hidden.
~~~~~~~

Lyon took the hit. It hurt, and her lip was bleeding now, but outwardly she remained calm. "I'd prefer to keep my heart, yes." Lyon said, her tone casual. Lyon caused her hand to glow with light, and produced an explosive, that she threw down. The grenade exploded in a flash, and Lyon was thrown back. She pushed herself back up and coughed a bit. Fortunately, she had a natural resistance to light, so the bomb wouldn't have done nearly as much damage to her as it had done to him.

The blast damaged him. But only a bit. He growled at the girl "I WILL KILL YOU!" He screamed. He teleported, and sent a feral but powerful assault with his blades.

Horizon sighed. This person certainly was something. He briefly wondered how her companions dealt with her. The Enforcer turned around, staring Severa down. His eyes held a bored, blank look of someone who found this unamusing. "You truly, utterly think that you can taunt me into rage? You are nothing compared to me, nor Ryonne, as he held an honor that you so clearly lack." Horizon said, lifting his blade and slashing her repeatedly. No need for fancy honors and codes, this girl obviously fought on her own terms--and so shall Horizon.

Lyon focused, and managed to deflect each strike, carefully, and with precision. She heard her parents voices, drilling her. 'Left!' 'Right!' 'Up!' They had trained her, and trained her hard. She wasn't going to lose after all that work. She parried the last strike, and summoned a dagger of light in her other hand, and stabbed it towards her opponent at point blank range. Afterwards she leaped back, and held Redemption casually again. "I will obliterate the darkness." She muttered.

~~~~~~~~~~~~Severa snapped her fingers, and a shield of darkness appeared in front of her. The strikes impacted the shield, not breaking until the final strike. It was then that Severa launched a counter-attack, thrusting forward, her sword coated in dark flames. After her thrust, she flipped backwards. Severa looked at Horizon, her gaze very serious. Then she stuck her tongue out at him. She raised her sword, and her other hand, which was covered darkness. She grinned at him, then punched the ground, sending a dark shockwave through the ground.
He screamed when the blade impacted. "You are true dark-" he coughed up blood. His rage was causing bodily harm. "True darkness!" He shot 3 blades, and shot dark chains underneath the ground, unknown to her.
Horizon looked at her blankly, as he did with most subjects that bored him. The attack had torn the folds of Horizon's robe, which the man promptly took off. Underneath was the pieces of Keyblade Armor, like most warriors parts of the armor were kept under normal instances. Most Enforcers though, especially Horizon, did not have the ability to change into a full armor state. The attack though had pierced the armor, and was clearly drawing a trickle of blood.
Horizon stepped forward, his blade in hand as he sighed. "Blitz." He said, appearing before Severa with a mighty leap, crashing down upon her with a force of light. He repeated this attack twice more--ending it with his own shockwave.
