False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

If you’re going to join, at least fill out the specifics, then begin posting as your character after I give the okay! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

Darkness, bleh. This throne is really uncomfortable now that I think about it. Would it have killed them to put a pillow on it or something?

"Hm?" Kirito, the Research and Development Team's...ah yes, I remember now. "By all means Private, you are dismissed. Prepare yourself so you'll be ready for your next mission."

Mouse. Hickory dickory dock, the mouse ran up the... "Captain Umzaki, Captain Fallo: if just one of you testifies that these individuals were using the darkness right now, they can all be put to death and we can return to The Land of Departure to rest up before the next battle. So I ask you, were the...you've brought before me, using darkness?"

I should also check in with the Council to see how much progress we've made, then decide o- CLOCK! It ran up, a clock...indeed.

Edited by LightChaser

"A majority of them wielded Darkness, yes." Horizon said almost immediately, "The Severa girl and Harumi both used a large amount of Darkness. Lyon may be able to give a report on the others. However, it appeared the Light girl did not use Darkness whatsoever." A poor report by Horizon's standards, but it answered the question imposed upon him.

Something still unnerved him. He couldn't place it, but there was an unrest in his heart. He had fought rebels before -plenty of them- but this group was different. Stronger, and closer together than the rag-tag groups he had encountered before.

Ren woke up to see he had been dragged to the empress herself. He turned to light. "I'm-" he coughed a bit of blood. "I'm sorry, light…"

Maybe it ran up the banister...why would it run up a clock? "Very well, I leave their executions to you then, Captain Fallo. Please carry them out soon, the Council warns me your strength will be needed again shortly." Two, but not the third? In that case the Council...Ah!

"Captain Umzaki, can you confirm if the other three, including this 'Light', used darkness? If not I'm afraid you'll have to release them, we can't trouble ourselves over every little pest that bothers us. We must, instead, focus our attention solely against the darkness."

That boy is being overwhelmed by it, he needs to be put down. It is individuals like him that make this galaxy what it is...but the darkness shall be nothing more than a memory if...yes...

Thank goodness, she doesn't seem to remember me. I'd hate for my relatives to be punished for my actions, even if I myself have to fight them eventually. Better that it happen by my hand rather than the Enforcers'.

Hearing Ren, I turn to look at him. "It's okay, you did your best Ren; we all did. It just wasn't enough." I look down at the floor in despair, listening to her words- when suddenly, my eyes widen!

She only wants those of us who used the darkness? If that female Captain tells the truth, and reports that only Ren used the darkness, and me and Nova get set free, we can rescue the others! There's still hope!

Kirito opened the door to see Ausar at work. He sat on a nearby chair. "I think thee is something wrong with me."

"Oh?" Ausar said, grabbing a philter of some translucent liquid and adding it to his mixture. "And what makes you say that?" He then asked, not bothering to even turn around. There was important work to be done. Some child's pain was nothing compared to the science Ausar was doing.

"Any pains? Aches? Odd shifts into other dimensions? Voices in your head?" He asked, his voice retaining something both monotonous and mysterious.

"The rebel we captured…" he said. "Light…" he scratched his head "I've been seeing visions of her…and I just met her!" He looked at his hands. "I also…can't seem to hurt her…"

"So you come to me." Ausar sighed, momentarily stopping his work. He had honestly expected something easy to deal with; an ache or pain, maybe even the beginnings of dementia or some psychotic disorder. Not a child complaining about something so foolish.

"Perhaps...no." Ausar said, his mind immediately thinking. Sure, his first thoughts were more physical pains...but perhaps this child was dealing with something else, something not even Ausar was knowledgeable in. The Heart.

"What?" He looked at the doctor. He needed to know what was going on!

"Yes, I can confirm that the one named Ren indeed used darkness. It seemed that he was largely overwhelmed by it." Lyon reported, speaking clearly. She hesitated for a moment. She should tell the truth, but all of the rebels had shown that they were such threats to the light, that Lyon wasn't sure if she should let them go. Lyon took a deep breath, and continued. "But the other two did not show any signs of darkness whatsoever." Lyon finished. There was nothing more to report. She bowed her head, and began to walk away, and out of the room.

I think I got an eyelash in my eye... "Thank you for your report, Captain Umzaki. Captain Fallo, I leave the executions and removal of the others to you." Three more for the pile, and two more to carry on...the Council will be delighted to hear about this.

Portal of Light...Pol, Corridor of Light...Col. Well, back to The Land of Departure to report back in...perhaps Disney was the carpenter that built that castle...

Home sweet home...the interior here is pretty drab. What was the Council thinking? Now where did the 'Crystal Ball' go...

Edited by LightChaser

Ren needed to help them. He festered and hated. "Come on…" he felt all of his insides burn, his brain hurt, his whole body rejected it. "To…save…my…friAAAAAGGHH" he went berserker.

Horizon nodded, immediately leaving Alyssa's presence and moving quickly to catch up with Lyon. When the Captain did, he quickly slowed down to match pace with the other Captain. "That...was...an interesting mission, to say the least." Horizon said, "I hope you don't mind if I take a walk with you."

~

Ausar shook his head, "Too young to know. Honestly, as if any child would understand the fundamentals behind the heart. Much less..a fake one."

"What do you mean? Can't understand?" He got a little angry "I-I need answers!"

Looking around, they're all leaving at the same time! The Captains are far along behind us, with the Empress already gone through a Corridor of Light. Just as I try to formulate a plan, Ren roars next to me and breaks free!

"R-Ren! Quick, you gotta control yourself- open a Corridor of Darkness, grab Harumi and Severa, then we can get out of here!" I tell him, standing up and looking back at the Captains that've left us behind.

He reverted, and felt worse."Give…me…a" he coughs up blood. "Minute…" he slowly opens up a portal, then blacks out…

I'm about to shout out to Ren, but catch myself, realizing doing so will only get the Captains' attention. My hands are cuffed together, so I'm only going to be able to drag them into the portal one at a time.

Frantically, I look to each of my companions, deciding on dragging Ren into the portal first- he is the closest. Running over to him, I grab the collar of his shirt and begin pulling him in as quietly yet quickly as I can.

Lyon smiled slightly as Horizon joined her. "No, I don't mind. But surely there are some other girls who would die for your company more than I would, Captain Fallo." Lyon said, laughing a little at the end. Of course she liked being around Horizon, but she knew of so many girls in the Enforcers that had crushes on him that she had lost count. Lyon continued walking towards her home in Disney Town. Did she think of Horizon that way? No, no she didn't. Lyon was much too busy to concern herself with such trivial matters these days. But if she were to ever settle down... No. Lyon stopped her thoughts before they went places she didn't want them to.

~~~~~~~~
Severa awoke in the throne room of Disney Castle. She struggled to her feet, and stretched her hands to the sky. Why wasn't she in a cell by now? That was what she figured would happen when she fell unconscious by Horizon's hands. She then spotted the two Enforcers, one Horizon, the other one that had attacked them, walking away She also noticed Light and a dark corridor. Many of the others were unconscious. There were also several other Enforcer guards down the hall. Severa made a split-second decision. She dashed over to Light as quietly as possible, and whispered in her ear. "I'll distract them. You get everybody out. And don't worry about me." Severa didn't wait for a reply. Severa was feeling better than she ever had before. She ran through the hall, darkness trailing behind her. She whooped and yelled, drawing as much attention as possible. She could only hope it was enough.
Just as I get Ren through the portal, I turn back only to almost crash into Severa! I hear her whispers as I try to contain my surprise, and then she runs off!
"S-Severa!" I call after her, but she's off, calling the Enforcers' attention to her alone. Quickly, I run over to Harumi and begin dragging her through the portal, as Nova heads in on his own. I have to help her, even if she doesn't want me to.
Getting Harumi safely inside the portal, I hurry back to its opening...but it's closed.
"Severa!" The handcuffs I'm wearing won't let me summon my Keyblade or open another portal, but luckily Nova uses his weapon to get them off. My hands free, I go to open another entrance- but nothing happens! The Enforcers must be blocking off Corridors of Darkness from reaching Disney Castle now.
If we can't go back for her, then I guess the least we can do is get Harumi and Ren to whatever world this corridor leads to.
Hoisting Harumi up, Nova grabs Ren as we make our way down the long path. Just what world will Ren's corridor lead us to?
Suddenly, the path ends, and I find myself standing in...Traverse Town. "Hmph, Ren must have a thing for worlds with night skies," I muse, sitting Harumi against a wall.
Going over to Ren, I notice he's slowly waking up. That was quite the situation we were in; and now they know us by name and face- my eyes widen as I gasp. What if the Empress was just pretending she didn't recognize me!?
I kneel down in front of Ren. "Ren, Ren wake up!" he seems to be coming to, thank goodness. "Ren, I have to go check up on my family- I need you to take care of the group for a while! Take care of them Ren, I'll be back as soon as I can!"
Getting back up, I open up a Corridor of Darkness and dash through it- closing it behind me.
((I'm gonna be off for the majority of tomorrow and the following morning thereafter, so don't interact with Light or Alyssa so the story doesn't end up just randomly stopping for a day @.@))
Edited by LightChaser
Ren rustled himself awake. He felt like crap. "Light …" was the words he could muster. "Please don't leave me..."
  • Author
[side: Light]
Dashing down the corridor, my mind is racing. I don't want to leave the group, but I have to make sure my family's alright- there's no telling what Alyssa might do to them should she find them!
The group will be fine anyway, Ren's strong enough to take care of himself and the others for a little while; I'll come back to them soon!
Edited by LightChaser
(Then I'll just use Horizon for the moment.)
"They will have to wait, then." Horizon replied, glancing at Lyon with a smirk. It was almost a smile, and smiling was something Horizon rarely did. "I am not sure what makes me seems so attractive, apparently. From what I have heard, apparently being mysterious and silent means you are lost and alone. Or some other ridiculous assumption based on ones outer appearance and behaviors. I for one...have never thought about that." He said, referring to 'settling down'. He was too serious for that, busy and simply too abrupt.
"My apologies for rambling."
(Don't forget Ausar)
Ren looked at everyone. He sighed. He felt the loss and humiliation of the battle. It was an uphill battle, and the lost a comrade. With a defeated look, he went to a hotel. "Come on," he said to the others.
  • Author
[side: Light]
Stepping back into Traverse Town, everything seems peaceful and quiet- just as it was when I left. I guess the Enforcers haven't tracked us down yet. Looking around, I deem it best to go check out the hotel for the others.
Sure enough, everyone is here- Harumi, Nova, and of course Ren. Severa must still be at Disney Castle, and I still can't open a corridor to that world. Ryonne is gone as well, but I don't know why.
"Well, let's get everything out in the open and figure out what to do next," I begin, looking to Harumi, "you used to be with the Enforcers- but for whatever reason you're here now. The latter is what matters, I have no problems with you staying."
I focus now on everyone, "Severa stayed behind and is dealing with the Enforcers alone, Ryonne has disappeared so if any of you know what happened to him that would help, otherwise it's just us three. We gotta get the rest of our group back together, then decide on which world to hit next."
With my family in mind, we have to seriously begin creating change in the worlds and remove the Enforcers from each one- and not a moment too soon.
Edited by LightChaser
"He's dead." Ren said. "That woman killed him in his sleep SHE KILLED HIM!!!" Darkness slowly crept up on him, creating a powerful aura. "They must die. ALL OF THEM MUST DIE!!! KILL THEM! KILL THEM ALL!!!!!" He roared.
