False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

Enno rolled under the punch coming up behind the Rebel. He brought his sword up, and slashed downwards. 'Foolish man. Why does he think to rebel? There is no point in it. The Enforcers will always be there to destroy any seeds of rebellion.' Enno thought, bringing his sword back up swiftly. 'Or is there? After all, this group has already liberated two worlds. This may be more of a sapling of rebellion than a seed. All the more reason I should destroy it.' Enno's train of thought continued as he slashed in the shape of an x. He ended the barrage of attacks with a powerful lunge.

~~~~~~~~~~"Vengeance has fueled a lot of great crusades. Don't pretend like it isn't a viable motive." Severa replied, her hand tightening around her blade. She could feel the pent-up tangle of emotions she had kept away since finding out about Ryonne. Severa had had enough of the Light's tyranny. If destroying it meant the advent of the chaotic darkness so be it. But anything would be better than this stranglehold on the people. Severa dashed in, faking a slash at his neck, bringing her sword down for a real strike at his abdomen. She brought her hand up, and released the darkness inside it. Dark fireballs erupted from her, and sought Horizon's blood, rocketing towards the Captain.
Brad's punch hits empty air as his mark dodges. Landing on his feet, he turns to face his opponent- vaguely aware of a scratching sensation.
The Enforcer is slashing at him, but it barely fazes him. Great- another disappointment. He turns to face the man, only to have an X cut through the front of his shirt. "Oh come on dude- it's not like I've got a ton of these on hand," but the soldier ignores him.
Following the previous attack, the Enforcer pulls back and lunges his sword at Brad's chest- the tip of it slightly digging in as he's sent back a few feet by the finishing move. Overall, the combo was a minor inconvenience.
Brad sighs. "...look, I don't think you can comprehend just how many Captains I've gone through these last couple of days, but I'm gonna lay it down plainly for you." Grabbing the blade of his foe's sword, he pulls it back so the tip is removed from his chest. "If you're holding back you need to stop right now, only someone with a Colonel's level of strength is gonna have a hope of a chance against me. Now either give me everything you've got, or take your friends and get out of here so I can take my own leave."
Suddenly, there's another scratching sensation against his back. Another small fry no doubt- then it hits him! "Where is she!?" Spinning around, he's confronted by the girl he had tried hiding from before- as she slashes at him time and again with her Keyblade.
"Look- I can't deal with this right now," he was getting impatient- he just wanted to liberate this world like he had the others and move on to the next one already; he turns back to the Enforcer, "Change of plans- let's wrap this up already!!"
He punches his fists then rushes forward and low to the ground, throwing his left fist up- connecting it with the Enforcer's jaw! The hood still obscures their face, but Brad easily recognizes he just landed an uppercut. Following up, he launches his right fist at the man's gut where he struck earlier- hearing that same sound of the armor breaking some more; though the noise sounds weird for armor.
His opponent being pushed back a few feet by the combination, Brad resumes a fighting stance- the girl still slashing at him. He does his best to ignore her, instead focusing on the soldier he just struck. "Yo! If you can still fight, then the next move is yours! If not, I'm finishing this!"
"Light...." He reached out, as if to shoot a blast. But he couldn't find anything inside... Out of power..."Light..."
(Sorry I haven't posted in a really long time. School work is getting more and more with it being my last year before high school. I'm not sure if I should try to keep participating or if I should just let my character be killed off)
((Lol we'll keep him around just in case- no worries xD))
Horizon:
Horizon let out a sigh, watching as the fireballs raced towards him. He had already prepared for Severa's feint, and the fireballs were merely another predictable move. She was acting exactly as Horizon had expected--erratic, with a dark power driving her body to its limits.
"Blizzara." Horizon murmured, a stalagmite of ice bursting from the ground to block the fires. The ice managed to slow most of their progress, though the combination of the three easily overtook the ice and continued its path.
"Pitiful." Horizon said, slashing the fire away with his blade.
(Okay, thanks ^U^)
  • Author
((No problem! ^^))
"Pitiful huh?" Severa spoke cruelly. She was currently consumed with her hate. Hate for her father. Hate for her home. Hate for Ryonne. "I'll show you tyrants what pitiful is!" She cried out. Darkness enveloped the small area that she was near Horizon. Darkness shot through her veins as Severa became more than what she was. Her hair turned black as night, and her standard armor switched to a short, black lacy dress. Her eyes turned yellow, and her normal blade turned to dark obsidian. Severa looked to Horizon. She knew she had gone over the edge, but it didn't matter. Not right now, nor ever again. As long as she saved everyone here, this would be worth it. The girl lashed out, striking with her blade, down, up, sideways, diagonal, stabbing, putting in feints, hilt strikes, and body strikes in on occasion to mix it up. As she finished off, a pent-up burst of dark energy exploded from her. Severa could practically feel the darkness encroaching on her heart.
It didn't matter.
(Hey man, corruptions my thing xD)
(It's less corruption, so much of a limit break. It's not going to be a thing, don't worry. :D)
Enno was flung back by the punch. Apparently this guy was invincible or something. Those slashes were enough to kill any man, yet he had taken them, and still not harmed at all. Enno couldn't figure out how this guy did it. Enno muttered a few words, "Bravery, Protect." He casted the spells, upping his attack power and defense. Hopefully this would place him at a higher level. Enno could tell he was of better skill, just not a mutant or whatever this hulk of a man was. Enno lunged in again, using the momentum to launch himself up again, slicing under him at the same time, before sweeping out with his legs upon landing. He spun up, using that chance to slash again, before backing up, and running past Brad stabbing simultaneously. Enno knew he needed to keep his motion up, or he'd be subjected to another attack. "Blink." Enno caster one more spell, one that makes the following three attacks that would have hit him instantly miss.
Horizon:
Horizon blinked. This was certainly unexpected. It took all of his power to simply parry most of Severa's attacks, though she easily blew through his defense and knocked him back with the horrendous burst of power.
The final dark grip on her heart. Horizon thought, sighing as he stumbled back up. If he didn't stop this, certainly Severa would go beyond just fighting him. Darkness wasn't choosy about whom it fought.
A normal Zantestuken will not suffice to end this match... Horizon then thought, sighing as he raised his blade. "Fine then. You have your darkness....but may it be banished by my Light." Horizon said, spinning his blade and slamming it down into the ground.
"This is one of the skills that allowed me to reach Captain rank." Horizon murmured, "Holy."
Several orbs of lights formed and circled around him. At first glance, they seemed normal, harmless orbs. But something powerful radiated out of them.
(Please tell me if I am being too overpowered with anything. I'll apologize and correct it.)
The Enforcer was still at it! Maybe there's more to him than met the eye. Brad would be stoked if the girl slashing at him wasn't present, very few Enforcers thus far had put up a fight or shown such stamina.
Realizing the fight is no where near over, he turns around and grabs the girl, launching her across the room. "Just stay out of this!!" Turning his attention back to the soldier, their blade slashes across him as the Enforcer lands a jump. A few strands of hair fall, as another slice in his shirt appears.
Suddenly he is sent back- the Enforcer spinning up and jumping back. "You're fast! That's gonna make it a bit tougher to land another punch!" The Enforcer ignores this, running past and inflicting quick stings against him!
This time it's more than a few scratching sensations, each strike genuinely stings. He can't help but let out a few grunts in response to the pain.
The flurry ending, Brad barely catches the word uttered by his target. Blink. That must've been a protection spell of sorts- when it came to magic he's pretty clueless.
"Okay then- time to finish this!" Punching his fists together, he rushes over, throwing his fist down at his opponent's head in an attempt to drop them in one strike. No one had withstood this attack so far. But- it misses!!
"Wha-" another stinging sensation as the Enforcer lands another hit, having successfully avoided the attack.
"No way, that was spot on!" Rushing over, he throws a jab at their gut- only to have it miss again as another sting lands. He growls in frustration. "What is this?!"
(I used the same spell against Ren, so I'd say you're good Silver)
As clear view was returned, Severa was on her knees. Her form of darkness was still intact though. She breathed deeply, her skin steaming. Then her eyes flashed to Horizon. "I'm... m...much too determined... to be ended... so quickly." She gasped out. Severa struggled to her feet. She picked her sword up from the ground. She pointed it back at the captain. Emotions were running high... fervent passion against the Enforcers. They had taken the last thing from her. "Dark Splicer." Stopga was placed on Horizon for a moment, and Severa warped around her target in fast paced strikes. When the attack stopped, Severa was standing next to Horizon. She glared at him.
"Die." She said with a sneer.
(And I'll return the question. If I'm being OP, just tell me to quit.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Enno grinned slightly underneath his hood. "Someone's not too smart." He said with a smirk. Enno retaliated with a quick slash, dipping down into a leg sweep, then a downward stab, before backflipping away from the brawler. He needed to be on his toes, or this would go poorly, quickly. He had one blink left, which meant he could only have one more mistake. He doubted he could withstand another direct hit from the Rebel. Enno kept his sword gripped tightly in his hand, his sheath also in a ready position. He couldn't let this guy win. His head burst with pain. Why couldn't he let the Rebel win? Because he was an Enforcer! But why? Enno shook his head. He couldn't let this get to him right now.

Horizon:"You truly are a fool." Horizon said, chuckling lightly to himself. While the Stopga had been placed on him, the orbs moving around his body remained unhindered. They began to rotate faster, churning up an even greater amount of power. The slammed together, right where Horizon was, releasing a massive, blue-white beam into the sky. What followed were several swirling pillars that spun out from Horizon, spinning in a circle as they all drew closer to Severa.

"This is Holy, the true light magic. So pure that it casts no shadows, and so hallowed that any and all darkness is swept away. Fear it, and may you find solace in its judgement." Horizon said, his voice resounding throughout the area. Even with that massive light swirling around him--his body was still frozen in place.

His attacks still missing, the Enforcer slashes again- leaving another sting. Suddenly Brad is sweeped off his feet- his opponent digging their blade into his chest- though only piercing in about an inch at best.

He was baffled- why couldn't his hits land? Grunting, he rises back up to his feet, readying his battle stance. "Yo! I dunno what happened back there, but don't plan on my missing again!"

Rushing the soldier, he throws yet another punch at their gut- his fist missing completely! What was this!?

Enno used his opponent's confusion to gain an advantageous position. He made a quick strike at Brad's head with his sheath, before crouching and lashing out at his torso with his blade. The former colonel springboarded off his victim, and he landed back on his feet a little ways away. The flurry of attacks would hopefully leave his opponent stunned for a moment longer. His Blink spell had worn off, so no more inexplicable misses unfortunately. Enno still wanted some form of boost besides his bravery and protect though. "Haste." Enno said, increasing his already high speed and agility. He kept his sword ready for action at a moment's notice.

Leaving himself wide open, Brad quickly regrets it. The sheath to his head is fairly noticeable, but the slash to his torso cuts up his shirt even more. It was such a nice shirt too.

Readying himself, he hears his opponent cast another buff. That's when it hit him! "Of course! Your buffs are making it more difficult for me to hit you! Ha! Well if that's all, you can only hide behind them for so long! I've spent my entire life training to fight naturally without relying on anything but my fists- I can keep this up all day!"

Launching off the ground yet again, he flies towards the Enforcer, throwing his fist at their head!

Enno ducked down and rolled under his victim, leaving to land where he'd been moments before. He swiveled around extraordinarily quickly, and slashed. He brought his blade back quickly and stabbed, before drawing the blade up against Brad's chest. To finish off this most recent flurry of attacks, Enno kicked him away. "It's not hiding. It's using them as another tool in a fight. Think about how effective you could be if you used them too." Enno said clearly.

~~~~~~~~~~
The holy magic swirled around Severa, closing in and hitting her. Each one stung, burning her skin. Severa could feel the darkness cowering behind the shield of her body as the light attacked. Slowly she was brought to her knees, but finally the barrage ended. Darkness flowed back into her. Her burns healed, and her energy refueled. She stood back up, and looked at Horizon. "You've cast a shadow too long to be cast away by such a light." She said. Severa raised her hand and shot out three dark firagas. She followed up with quick and brutal strikes with her darkness charged sword, targeting all over Horizon's body to be as unpredictable as possible. Then she unleashed another dark concussive blast from her, that would've knocked Horizon back.
Horizon:
Horizon was flung far back by Severa's assault. He grunted, feeling a searing pain all over his body. This girl..was far too over the edge. Her power came from some dark monster. Whether the source was her heart, or something else--it did not matter. Horizon would vanquish it. Darkness was always sanctified by Light. The never ending balance of Light and Darkness.
"There is always...a balance of Light and Darkness..." Horizon mumbled, "So if my Light creates a long shadow...your darkness will always yearn for the Light." He glanced at Severa. Both were heavily beaten. Horizon sighed, readying his blade. He suddenly sprang forth, his form becoming a blur as he danced around the battlefield. A pillar of light seemed to gather around his blade as he suddenly appeared before Severa.
"May you darkness be banished! I shall seal it away, absorb it with my own Light!" Horizon shouted, his blade-pillar going for her heart. This move was not to kill Severa--Horizon intended to sever the Darkness from her body. No longer would Darkness control her.
The man's fist collides only with the floor- breaking a few of the tiles. There's another sting from his opponent's sword, then what can only be another stab. Due to its shallowness, it doesn't bother him too much. The blade sits before him, before the Enforcer's foot sends him back a few feet. He was starting to enjoy himself against such an opponent, but if only that girl wasn't hanging around. He had to try and wrap things up. He takes in the soldier's words as he gets back up.
"A tool huh? You're starting to sound like the old man," this was no time to reminisce, nor share stories about his teacher, he clenches his fists, "Just think if I did use your tools- this fight would already be over; where's the fun in that?" He sighed. The man before him was the strongest Brad had fought in the past few days- it was frustrating that he couldn't truly savor this battle.
"For me that's cheating; I can win on my own, relying only on my physical strength-" he charged the man, throwing a punch at his gut in an attempt to finally break through the armor he believed to be there under the cloak, "I don't need to rely on anything but myself!!"
Enno felt the punch strike him in the chest, and he went hurtling back, crashing into the large fireplace at the other end of the room. His vision began to blur as he attempted to prop himself up on his sheath. He could still see Brad, standing tall and triumphant. Enno knew he had lost fair and square. He doubted Horizon could even beat this man. Enno fell back to the ground, and his eyelids closed. "Good fight..." He muttered, and before drifting into unconsciousness, a subconscious thought ran through his mind. 'Take them and run you son of a gun...'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Severa watched as Horizon came closer. This could not end well for her. She gripped her sword, and braced herself. Darkness flowed through her, burning a new kind of power into her. As he came hurtling toward her, she charged darkness into her own blade, and tried to parry away all of the captain's attacks. She wasn't successful on all accounts, the pain of the light searing through her dark body. Soon though, the attack ended. Severa could feel she was on her last limbs, and Horizon looked similar. Severa knew what she had to do to finish this fight. Severa raised her off-hand, and said one simple word. "Purge." The darkness that had been empowering her throughout the battle accumulated in one large orb around her hand. Her appearance turned back to normal, with her bright red hair and scrap armor. As the darkness grew, Severa felt herself weakening. Finally it reached it's full size, and rocketed off into the sky. Severa fell to a knee. But she knew it wasn't over quite yet. From the sky, a small black dot began growing as it fell closer. Soon, it seemed to be the size of a asteroid. It fell upon Captain Horizon, and exploded darkness. Severa gave a small exhausted grin. "Meteor." One of the ultimate dark arts.

That was it. A massive, powerful explosion that surrounded Horizon; engulfing his very form. The power was tremendous--not even a Captain could survive a magical attack of that power. Of course, all powers come with some price, and surely, Severa would meet one most severe.

The only thing that managed to escape the explosion was Horizon's keyblade, which sped towards Severa at a fairly high speed. This, was Horizon's own last effort; a spinning blade coated in Light. If it didn't hit Severa, it would surely explode with a small burst of Light.

Was it nearly as powerful as Meteor? No. But perhaps, it would finish the job it was set out to do.

Brad couldn't help but smile upon the sound of his fist finally colliding with his opponent! His mark hit, the Enforcer was propelled across the room- crashing into a fireplace.

Standing tall, Brad smirked upon examining his work. "...you were a great opponent!" he triumphantly called, when a massive ball of darkness caught his attention.

The girl who had summoned him in the first place had created it, bringing it down upon the Enforcer she was facing.

The other girl he had launched across the room was no where in sight, so he decided it would be safe to ensure this other battle was completed before leaving.

He raced over to the rebel, that last attack she had dealt to her opponent evidently taking its toll on her. "Hey, that was pretty impressive!" he congratulated, looking off in the direction of where the ball fell, "...you think that was enough to beat him?"

That's when he saw the Enforcer's Keyblade! Without a moment to think, Brad stepped in front of her- the blade impaling his chest. His surprise is evident in his eyes- he didn't expect it to actually stab through him.

Grunting, he takes a knee- attempting to catch his breath.
