False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

Horizon gave Ren a dark look. If Horizon let the others get away, the penalties he would receive would put an unwanted stain on his clean record. He was a top performer, not someone to be outsmarted by this.

Horizon stepped back and attempted to give Ren's chest a slice. Nothing too deep or serious, just something to send a message. Especially to the other Rebels. Horizon was not afraid to get dirty.

Ren screamed. "Go!" He said to his friends. His vision was blurred. He had not slept for a long time, and the cuts and mans consumption was not helping.

(After this post I'll wait for everyone else to post. No reason to get too far ahead.)

Horizon made a growl. An actual noise. That was good; The Silence spell was wearing off. Of course, the other rebels would likely escape before the Enforcer even had the chance. Then I'll take what I can get. At least by retrieving and arresting this boy, I'll have accomplished one mission. Horizon thought, resting the tip of his blade on Ren's shoulder.

*shing* The sound of a sword being drawn echoed in the area. Suddenly Ryonne was there. He had his blade at Horizon's throat, and pushed Horizon's blade away from Ren's shoulder with his sheath. "Esuna." Ryonne said, casting the spell on Ren. Magic wasn't his specialty, but he had picked up a few spells here and there. "Now go." Ryonne said to Ren dismissively. "This Enforcer and I can solve our problems civilly, right?" Ryonne said, a slight taunt at Horizon.

"What ...took you... So long?" Said Ren, trying to regain composure. He got up off of the ground, and limped away to the group, clutching his wound.

Dalian's eyes opened. The realization came to her that she fell asleep. She yawned, sitting up some. She placed her right hand over her eyepatch, and then placed her hand by her side, shaking her head. Dalian sat her half-open book down in her nightstand, fixing her hair and walking out her room. If anything was going on, Dalian personally didn't want to get involved, however she was not afraid to. As Dalian opened up her door, she sighed. It was always night here, there was no day. It was just a side note, it wasn't a surprise to her she fell asleep reading her book.

Horizon looked at them both. He smirked.

"Silence has worn off." He announced, clicking his tongue as he stepped back. He gently held his keyblade in his hand, raising it up so the blade was level and parallel with his face. In an instant Horizon used Sliding Dash and closed the distance between him and Ryonne. Horizone followed with a blast of fire, proceeding to turn around and grab the back of Ren's collar. He held his Keyblade defensively with Ren behind him.

Ryonne flashed sideways, out of the way of the fireball. He turned, blade in his hand. He raised and pointed it at Horizon. "No need for hostages. I will not run. I will not pull any tricks." The swordsman said, his voice clear and honest. He wasn't lying. The last thing he wanted was for this fight to dishonor him. Besides, he didn't need to resort to any tricks to win. He was already better than 75% of the enforcers. He could only hope that this man wasn't part of the quarter that he wasn't. "No are we in agreement." Ryonne asked gruffly.

It's a commotion of sorts that jolts me awake. All seems well based on my surroundings, as the new girl remains sound asleep in the other bed, but I can hear a struggle. Figuring it best not to disrupt the girl's slumber, I head out of the room on my own.

Moving quickly through the halls, I make my way down to the lobby and race out the front doors onto the main grounds outside the mansion.

"-not run. I will not pull any tricks." These are the words I hear Ryonne speak as I come out. He's standing before an Enforcer who- who has Ren?! "Now are we in agreement?"

His blade is pointed at the Enforcer, who is in a defensive stance with Ren behind him. All of them are so focused on the situation at hand none of them seem aware of my presence- seemingly at least. Think, what should I do? Ryonne is very prideful, so odds are he wants to face this other man on his own. I want to help him, but he would probably protest- and our bickering would only give the Enforcer an opening to attack or get away with Ren. Ren also looks beat up- he's the one who needs my help the most, and probably won't argue with my decision.

My mind made up, I run towards Ren and the Enforcer- about feet away when he sees me. His focus still on Ryonne, as he is the more evident threat, the Enforcer outstretches one of his arms to intercept me, but I Dodge Roll under it, grab ahold of Ren's collar and jump away from the Enforcer with him in tow.

Ren safely with me, I summon my Keyblade and quickly cast Cure in an effort to restore him to his normal strength. With him behind me, I turn my attention back on the Enforcer and take a defensive stance with my Keyblade.

"Ryonne! I'm assuming you don't want me and Ren to help you fight this guy?!" I call out to our comrade, not once taking my eyes off the Enforcer. I truly wouldn't mind if Ryonne allows his honor to make him fight alone- all things considered I'd really rather not fight the man before me, even if he is the 'enemy'. This whole situation between 'us' and 'them' is horrible, but currently seems unavoidable. If only they could be more accepting of the Darkness, none of this would be happening...

Horizon sighed. "Fine." He said, looking Ryonne in the eye, "I will fight you; for honor. I may not seem like it, but I fight for the same sort of code." Horizon held his Keyblade in a new battle-ready stance, his arms holding the weapon back and his body leaning down.

So much for the higher-ups and this mission. That target will surely get away. After this, I'll either look for him or lay low. Horizon thought, still looking at Ryonne with his sword at ready. "Before we fight, tell me your name. I am Horizon Fallo."

Ryonne glanced over to Light and Ren. "Correct. Now take the others and go." His eyes shifted back to Horizon. "My name is Ryonne Mors." Ryonne said, shifting his weapon back to a more relaxed position, near his side. "Now, Horizon, we shall fight. I do hope you're ready." The swordsman spoke again. In an instant, Ryonne was very close to Horizon, swinging his sword downward diagonally and spinning his body simultaneously. Ryonne knew his own skill, he just didn't know his opponent's. That put him at a disadvantage for the moment. He didn't intend for it to stay like that.

Horizon brought his blade up and parried Ryonne's swipe. He swept back and let himself straighten up and increase the distance between him an his opponent. Horizon noted the other's strength. So far, it seemed to be about equal. Whether any of them had enough stamina to drag out the fight for longer periods of time was still left unseen. Horizon closed the distance in a single step, using one arm swipe, the other arm by his side.

Ryonne carried himself through the spinning motion, raising his sheath to parry the strike from horizon. He took the moment to measure the amount of strength put into the strike. It was fair. Whether or not that was his maximum force was yet to be seen, but it showed that even his casual swings were to be feared. Ryonne used his own sheath to push his opponent's blade away, before continuing to spin so that he was facing his opponent, and stabbed his own blade upwards towards Horizon. Ryonne was glad that his opponent wasn't a talker. Those who talked in fights were annoying and for the most part, weak.

Horizon backpedaled from Ryonne's swipe, the attack still catching on his coat and causing a neat tear.

I see he uses his sheathe in battle too. Horizon noted, putting both hands on his hilt. With both arms aiding in an attack, Horizon swept one diagonally from Ryonne's upper left to his lower right. Horizon mentally smiled. Most of his opponents were weak, cocky, over-confident and always had to act like the hero. All of those traits were their personal downfalls. This person showed a lot more power and a more controlled confidence. Horizon wouldn't even mind losing to an opponent like this.

"I-I messed up..." He looked at light "Should have talked you out of it..."

Ryonne spotted the two handed attack coming his way. He raised his sword and sheath in conjunction to block the strike. Holding the strike now, he threw Horizon's blade up. Ryonne quickly stepped up close to Horizon, and went for the legs with his sheath, still holding his blade by his side. Ryonne could see the delight in Horizon's eyes, and could imagine there was a similar fire dancing in his own. He assumed it'd been awhile since either had fought this hard before. Even in an unjust war like this, fighting was still, well, fun.

Horizon stumbled nearly falling down before disappearing, and the reappearing to right himself.

"Cheap move." Horizon muttered, doing this flash step move again to reappear behind Ryonne, and then once more to reappear before him. With that, Horizon did another one-handed strike across Ryonne's torso.

Their fight having begun, and hearing Ryonne's instructions, I take Ren and make my way back to the mansion.

I try to respond to Ren as we take our leave. "What's done is done Ren, it'll be alright," I tell him, fairly certain I sounded confident when I said it.

Once inside, I open up a Corridor of Darkness. We're all aware of the plan in a situation like this- we agreed to all meet up at the world Radiant Garden should we ever come under attack and have to abandon the mansion.

Leaving this place behind, though, I can't stop worrying about Ryonne. He's very strong- but is it right to just leave him behind to fight, even if he wants us to?

I decide on my plan of action, and make sure to close the Corridor of Darkness behind me and Ren.

Ryonne stumbled forward after the strike hit him across the back. The move had caught him off guard, he would have to keep Horizon's teleportation ability in mind from here on out. "Depends on your perspective." Ryonne replied, clutching his sword and sheath, forehand and backhand respectively. He concentrated for a moment, before leaping backwards and up, slicing blindly behind him, turning around as quick as he could to face Horizon.

Horizon watched Ryonne and stepped back. Neither of the two were winded. This could potentially go on forever. Horizon didn't have that kind of time. As powerful as he was, he was still in a Rebel-lead world. It wasn't too far-fetched that the higher-ups would send in other Enforcers to finish the job Horizon couldn't finish, due to being caught up in 'trivial' fights. Horizon sighed, running forward and swiping at Ryonne again.

Eventually Horizon would have to end this.

(Alright, I have NO IDEA what I should post....I'm just kinda.....clueless....right now)

(I've moved all the characters to Radiant Garden, so you can start up a plot there? xD)

Ryonne had regained a standard position. He blocked Horizon's swipe. Somehow, it felt different than the others. More relaxed. Could his opponent have an ulterior plan? Ryonne shook his head. There was no time to be worrying about that. He needed to buy as much time as possible for the others. As long as they could escape, Ryonne would have succeeded. If need be, he'd fall into captivity. But Light and Ren needed to make it out. They still needed time to grow. Ryonne refocused on Horizon. He gritted his teeth, and lunged forward with renewed effort.

Horizon grunted and blocked the attack with his own sword. It was about time that this was finished. He sighed, holding his blade gently to his side, he lowered his body into a stance, holding his blade back as if he was about to swipe.

"I'd love to keep fighting, but this needs to end. I don't need any other Enforcers interrupting our match." Horizon said, looking down at the ground as his face relaxed.

"Zantetsuken!" Horizon cried, feeling time slowing down as he charged and his body faded away to reappear and swipe against Ryonne's side. Zantetsuken, while being a powerful, one-hit KO move, was fairly impossible to control correctly, meaning making slight changes in course was difficult.

"I-I am a hindrance to the balance..." He said to light. He was a disappointment to his father. He held back tears, as he tried to fight the instinct to hold Light.
