False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

If you’re going to join, at least fill out the specifics, then begin posting as your character after I give the okay! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

"Great, actually, we came to liberate this place." Ren lied. He wasn't taking any chances..." You have others, or..,"

  • Author

"We're here to restore this world to its former glory!" I tell her proudly, gesturing to Ren and Nova, "Outsiders like ourselves and the Enforcers shouldn't make the denizens of worlds like this bend to our rules, so we're gonna send them back to where they belong!"

Thinking about it, we could probably use her help- what with her fighting skills.

"Hey, would you like to join us?" I ask simply, trying not to sound intimidating or anything like that.

Harumi shrugged, "I'm pretty much alone. I wouldn't mind tagging along." She smiled, looking at them all. Ever since she defected to the rebel side, finding companions was difficult and usually didn't last long. "So if I am, where would we be headin' to next? I'd prefer something not so eh, grimy as this place. Somewhere sunny would be nice, yes?"

"Oh, 'the jungle'...." He turned to Light. "What was it called?"

(Advice: it would be cool if Harumi and Horizon were related in some way...)

  • Author

"I guess sunny is nice, honestly I prefer the night but that's just me..." I say before trailing off, realizing I'm getting off subject, "but, we just got here, while Ren and Nova bought new outfits, so it'd be a waste of their munny if we left before helping this world..."

When I evaluate our reason for staying, I realize it's not the strongest argument, but Ren distracts me with a question.

"Oh, you mean Deep Jungle?" I ask, fairly certain that's what he's talking about.

Edited by LightChaser

"True." Harumi said, putting a hand to her chin, one still on her hip as she began to think. "I guess we can help out here. Better to make this place less of an ana o danpu and someplace I'd actually like to be." Harumi smiled at that, finally glad to help someplace instead of running from everything.

(While that would be neat for her and Horizon to be related, I'll have to think on it.)

(I mean relation in any form, like school mates, or friends)

"What is that strange dialect you seem to drift into?" Ren said.

  • Author

"Great!" I exclaim, glad to have another comrade, "Now those ramparts over there look pretty important, so I'd wager there are Enforcers packed up in there."

That's when I realize: Harumi was here before us, so maybe she knows where we can find the Enforcers!

"Hey, do you know where the Enforcers have bases set up on this world?!" I ask eagerly, hoping she'll be able to make the job of tracking them down easier for us.

(Seems like a good idea. As I said, I'll try and think. Maybe just acquaintances.)

"Oh, that? It's uh, a sort of thing from my home world. Kinda gets in the way of my English, if you ask me. I'll be speaking perfectly and then, totsuzen! I'll just pop into it for absolutely no reason. Ticks me off, but I truly don't mind." Harumi said looking over to the other girl.

"Oh..um...maybe. I think. Yeah. Anyways, I don't think I know your name yet."

"Hmm..." Ren thought that dialect seemed weird, in a good way. He would have to research it. "She is Light, but she can tell you that..,"

  • Author

"Oh! How rude of me!" I exclaim, remembering I was holding out for Nova and Ren to greet her, but realizing I held off on my introduction for far too long, "My name's Light- pleased to meet you!" I scratch my head and laugh nervously in an effort to cover up my poor etiquette. "Yeah, what Ren said..."

Edited by LightChaser

"So...Should we head for the ramparts or wait." Nova was unsure "Harumi doesn't have a disguise though."

"We should storm it. I'll scout it out" he walked down to the ramparts.

"Light? Nice name." Harumi said, smiling still.

"But yeah. I think there's an outpost near here. You spoke of the ramparts. I think that's where they are. Either that or the manor place." Harumi said, hoping she wasn't looking suspicious. While she knew Light probably wouldn't care that Harumi was once an Enforcer, Ren may not think so.

"I don't really like wearing disguises though.." She added, looking at Nova, "Oh, and your name?"

  • Author

"Thanks! I like your name too- Harumi...it reminds me of harmony!" I tell her, then take in the information, "Alright, I'll go with Ren to scout the ramparts then!"

With that, I turn and follow after where Ren went.

"Oh, Sorry I forgot to introduce myself." He explained "I'm Nova! Nice to meet you."

Harumi nodded to Nova, and followed both Light and Ren up the ramparts. Harumi was more than happy to finally have some friends, though she knew that at some point, dealing with the Enforcers would mean the knowledge of her past allegiance would come out. She never truly wanted to leave. Harumi had left only because of what she had seen. If there was no problem in her viewing it, she doubted she would have left in the first place.

"Stop being such a baka." She grumbled.

"You say something?" Said Ren. Whist surveying the guards. They were armed, and stone like in stature, head-on confrontation not advised...

Finally catching up to Ren, I'm about to say something to him when I hear Harumi grumble. I turn back to face her, but she's looking off to the side, so I guess she wasn't addressing whatever it was she said to me.

Focusing back on Ren, I ask him, "Can you see any Enforcers?" We're still approaching the ramparts, but he's taller than me, so maybe he can see more.

Edited by LightChaser

"Armed, many, and dangerous." Ren said, while looking at the others. "We could divide and destroy." He looked at Light "Don't worry, you won't have to kill, just injure and scare."

"I could do some scaring." Harumi muttered, getting onto one knee to survey the ground before them. Easy pickings. All of them were low-ranking Enforcers, none of them of any particular strength. Especially not someone like Horizon Fallo. Harumi shivered. That man creeped her out. What, with his apathetic attitude, dangerous aura, and extreme power.

"This'll be easy."

  • Author

"Thanks," I say to Ren, but address everyone with my next comment, "If we could all refrain from killing them- they're just doing what they feel is right, like we are- our true enemy is the institution they work for." Of course, I don't want to come off as bossy or anything, plus each person's respective situation that's led them up to now is different than mine I'm sure, "But, do what comes naturally I guess." I finish absent-mindedly.

(Yes! Thanks for considering my advice!)

"I will go first then..." Ren said. "My injury is not that bad." He ran before anyone could argue, stabbing a soldier in the back with Etherial Blades, then shooting one at another gaurd.

Sighing, I summon my Keyblade and follow after Ren in an effort to make sure no one attacks him from behind.

"Mind if I go?" Harumi said, giving a glance to Light. Harumi sneered and disappeared anyways. Even though she was 'fresh' out of the academy, she was still and extremely skilled warrior. Remember, unleash the katana, not the Keyblade. More Enforcers know the keyblade and not your katana. Harumi noted in her mind as she reappeared behind a bunch of Enforcers.

"Did yah hear? Apparently Captain Fallo got beat by some Rebels. Command says he'll be comin' here soon." One said. Harumi growled, unleashing her katana in a fury of fire and blasted all three of them away.
