I'm lost.... so lost, hidden in the back of line,

a faceless figure, a nobody,

marching along to none's harmony. 

Lost amid the ashes scattered, 

heart broken, soul shattered,

memories fleeting like doves

before the dawn.

 

Lost amid the daylights end,

never knowing foe or friend, 

always watching, safely away,

hidden from all.

 

Day by day, I tug along,

watching it all move swiftly ahead,

barely keeping my head above water in the end.

 

A lost soul, a nobody, 

marching to a discorded harmony,

ashes burn like sulfer fire,

burning with awful desire, 

inside my soul. 

 

Darkened days and rainy nights,

dreams passing by,

counting seconds, watching hours, 

days pass along, 

one by one.

 

It was easier before, long ago,

but that's in the past, 

a dead, burnt ember.

 

No going back. 

 

You can't go home,

that's a lie, as you march along 'neath birdless skies,

daring dreams of royalty. shattered by reality, 

a discorded harmony...

 

lost...amid the ashes of yesterday.
