(I swear, this is my fourth Naruto roleplay... Anyway, here we go!)

 

The tale of the Fourth Great Ninja War is one of the most well-known in the shinobi world: Ending in a victory for the Allied Shinobi Force, it allowed for mutual respect and peace between the five great nations of the land. After the war, Naruto Uzumaki, a young jinchuriki who greatly influenced the outcome of the war, was elected as Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. Since then, the ninja from the war have settled into a much more peaceful lifestyle. Now, in the next generation of the village, the peace is being threatened by a new group. Can the next generation have the same success as the previous one?

 

My character:

 

 

Name: Koukon Yougan

 

Age: 13

 

Appearance: Koukon wears a standard Konoha headband across his forehead. He has medium length black hair, which partially obscures his headband. He commonly wears a red hoodie and blue shorts.

 

Gender: Male

 

Personality: Koukon is a bit of a class clown, constantly making jokes and teasing his friends. He's actually very determined to do his best, and will rarely back down from a situation. He's friendly towards those who he gets to know, and can be jokingly sarcastic towards friends at times. He's also got a soft spot for girls...

 

Bio/Family Heritage: Koukon is the heir to the Yougan clan, a prestigious clan known for its expertise with fire style jutsu. The clan was known to even rival the Uchiha in this field. Koukon was expected to be one of the greatest clan members in years, and went through quite a bit of harsh training to get to this point. However, he never got down about it, and always looked on the bright side: Impressing the ladies with his talent. He was also close friends with the Hokage's daughter growing up, along with being rivals with Kinatama Mottoyoi. He graduated from the academy at the top of the class, despite being a clown most of the time.

Age: 17

 

Appearance: Yumi has long red hair, a trademark of the Uzumaki clan. When she's on a mission, or training with her students, she typically wears the standard Leaf shinobi uniform, with the Konoha headband on her forehead. Otherwise, she usually wears an orange t-shirt and blue jeans.

 

Gender: Female

 

Personality: Around her students, or when in a mission, Yumi is typically serious, and acts encouraging towards her teammates. She can often be quieter in battles, due to focusing on analyzing her opponents moves. However, when with her friends, she's more laid back and carefree. This sometimes leaks out around her team, although it doesn't bother her too much when this happens.

 

Bio/Family Heritage: Yumi is a member of the Uzumaki clan, which has become a much smaller clan since the destruction of the Land of Eddies. She was born after her mother, Karin, retired from her position as a shinobi due to guilt for helping rogue ninja. Yumi decided to take on her mother's legacy as a shinobi, and trained hard in order to fill the gap her mother left. She graduated from the Academy at the age of 8, and became a Chunin at the age of 10. She became a Jonin at the young age of 13. She spent the next 4 years as a Jonin, managing to become equal with the likes of shinobi decades older than her. Yumi has an incredible talent for analysis, rivaling even Shikamaru Nara's ability. She is also well-trained in Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, as well as being proficient in Taijutsu. She is often compared to prodigies such as Kakashi Hatake and Itachi Uchiha, and many believe that she has the potential to become the Seventh Hokage.

Kiyoshi smiled, thankful that Kinatama was so calm in this situation. "You're right... We'll all be fine!" She'd regained her confidence, and was ready for anything.

 

The boy who was trying to anger Itachi sighed. "Fine, we'll save this for later, then. You'll regret messing with me, though." He walked off in the opposite direction. The boy who'd been flirting with Hikari followed him, gripping his nose in pain. As they both walked off, the girl made her way towards Itachi.

 

"... Sorry about that." She seemed to not really enjoy speaking to others. That one sentence seemed to make her struggle for words. "They've always been like this..." She sighed. She almost walked off, but, feeling guilty still, forced herself to talk a little more. "You're... Itachi Uchiha, right? The kid who was being cuddled by his... mother outside?" The word mother seemed to be specifically difficult for her to say, and the word carried a slight hint of resentment. She wasn't trying to make a joke out of it, but didn't really seem to think that it could anger the Uchiha boy.

A small tick mark grew over Kinatama's head as Koukon brought him into the joke now. I regret saying anything now, he thought as his mouth twitched in anger.

Kinatama

 

"Hmm. If you ask me, she and Itachi are very similar to one another," Kinatama commented, looking over at the corners of his eyes for the rest of the genin that filled the room.

 

(Also, I just realized that we're forgetting our other characters, so lets bring them into the mix.)

 

Chosan

 

"Brother, don't shout like that!" Chosan said, trying to get Inoue to close his mouth as he was obviously doing an impression of the current Hokage in his younger years.

 

Ryuichi

 

"The Chunin Exams. I am ready for whatever it holds," Ryuichi said to himself as he adjusted his elbow pads. He and Shogo were keeping to themselves until they decided to join their teammate Hikari and the others.

 

Shogo

 

"Well, it seems like all twelve rookies have been selected for the exams," Shogo commented aloud as he and Ryuichi reached hearing distance. "This should be interesting."

Itachi

 

He was surprised at Akarui standing up for him and telling Koukon to leave. "Wow, i'm surprised. I honestly thought that you were going to just accept it and ignore it, but you didn't. Thanks."

 

Tenshi

 

He walked into the room alongside Banken. "Well, it's already here, and i'm ready to prove how strong i am. Looks like everyone's here too. I just hope i don't have to fight Kiyoshi..."

 

Banken

 

He looked around, and stared at Kinatama. "Heh, so there's Kinatama. I hope i get to fight him and kick his ass. He's the only real person who'll put up a good fight against me." He turned towards Tenshi. "I know that we're on the same team, but if i end up fighting you, i'm not holding back. Just a warning."

Itachi

 

He was surprised at Akarui standing up for him and telling Koukon to leave. "Wow, i'm surprised. I honestly thought that you were going to just accept it and ignore it, but you didn't. Thanks."

 

Tenshi

 

He walked into the room alongside Banken. "Well, it's already here, and i'm ready to prove how strong i am. Looks like everyone's here too. I just hope i don't have to fight Kiyoshi..."

Akarui

 

Akarui sighed. "No need to thank me. I'm used to it." She looked back at her teammates, and glared at them. "I have to deal with people worse than your teammate on a daily basis..."

Banken

 

He looked around, and stared at Kinatama. "Heh, so there's Kinatama. I hope i get to fight him and kick his ass. He's the only real person who'll put up a good fight against me." He turned towards Tenshi. "I know that we're on the same team, but if i end up fighting you, i'm not holding back. Just a warning."

 

Kinatama

He decided to break his stoic streak just for the sake of beating back Banken's words, and also to show that he won't be intimidated by anyone in the Exams. "Like you could ever kick my ass, Dog Breath," Kinatama added, chuckling to himself. "And to be honest, I'm surprised you're focused on that instead of doting over Kiyoshi like Pumpkin Head usually does."

And there's nothing you or anybody else here can do about it," Kinatama declared, a heavy expression set on his face as he spoke.

Banken stared into his eyes showing no fear even after hearing Kinatama's boast. "Heh, alright then. Glad to hear that you're not going to give up then. I'm looking forward to this real challenge, we'll have to see if you really are going to accomplish your goals." He smirked.

Kiyoshi

 

Kiyoshi sighed. I'm like the opposite of my brother... All of these boys want me, and I don't want any of them... Well... She stared at Kinatama for a moment, hoping that she wasn't blushing. "Please stop fighting, you two... We're not here for that right now." Just then, Sakura entered the room.

 

Sakura

 

Sakura made her way to a podium in the front of the room, and cleared her throat. The crowd continued talking, leading to her clearing her throat loudly. Once everyone shut up, she began to speak. "Welcome to the Hidden Leaf Village, everyone! Today, you're all gathered here for the Chunin Exams! There will be three parts to this test, all of which will allow us to observe your actions, and whether or not you're ready to become a Chunin. We'll begin the first immediately. I'd like all of you to follow me." She left the room, followed by the groups of genin.

 

"Heh, let's go, Kinatama! Time to prove how strong we really are!" Koukon chased his sensei out of the room.

 

 

 

Eventually, the group reached a large forest, with a gate surrounding it. The gate was covered with danger signs, and with barbed wire. "We're here!" Sakura energetically shouted to the group. The genin looked a bit more scared, however. "The first test will take place here: The Forest of Death. We have thirty genin teams here. You see, each of you will be given one of two scrolls. The Earth Scroll, and the Heaven Scroll." She randomly passed scrolls to each team. "Your goal is to get both scrolls, and meet at a tower in the center of the forest." She continued to speak, but a cough from behind her startled her. "Oh, yeah... I'll... Let the proctor handle the rest." She walked off, seemingly embarrassed. Afterwards, a man in a large coat stepped up.

 

"As Sakura said-"

 

"Hey, who are you?" Koukon looked confused. "You can't scare Sakura sensei like that, it's not very nice!"

 

The man grunted. "I'm Shino Aburame, the proctor for this test. Now then, unless another person wishes to cut me off again..." He paused, then continued. "We'll begin. Each team will be assigned a different gate to enter through. Once you enter, you have three days to make it to the tower with both scrolls in tow. Those who do not will not continue to the next round of the Exams. Also... We will not be in the forest to hold your hands. There is real danger, and if you aren't prepared... You will die." He paused again. "Also, do not open the scrolls. That will lead to instant disqualification as well. Now then..." He handed out slips of paper to each team. "That will show your gate assignment. Good luck. You'll need it..." He stood to the side as the genin all crowded to find their gates.

 

 

"I think this is our gate." Koukon looked at the paper, and the number on the gate. "Yep, definitely ours! Alright guys, let's do this!" He grinned.

Kinatama

 

"Yep, you're right," Kinatama confirmed. "Okay then, boys, get ready to for one heck of a ride. Things are gonna get nasty!" Kinatama said to his teammates, pumping himself up by stretching out some of his muscles and making himself ready to take off.

 

Chosan

 

"Hey, Shikana, Inoue, I found our door!" Chosan said, pointing straight at the door in question with his brother and teammate at this sides. "Well, I guess this is it. Let's uh..." Chosan gulped. "Let's do this."

 

Ryuichi

 

"YES!" Ryuichi cried as he, Shogo, and Hikari reached their door. "I am so ready to begin! This Forest of Death will not extinguish my flames of youth!"

 

Shogo

 

Now I will prove my power as a Hyuga, and I won't let any fools get in my way. Shogo thought to himself as he simply wore a stone expression and stared at the door in front of him.

(Sorry i took a week gaiz, had other stuff going on and crap. Ill try not to slack off in the future.)

 

Itachi

 

Itachi silently walked to his teammates and looked towards Koukon. "So, are you going to take the time to think things out this time, or are you going to rush in like you usually do? We can't afford to screw up this time."

 

Shikana

 

She walked up to her teams gate and sighed a bit. "I get the feeling this is going to take alot of work to succeed in...."

 

Tenshi

 

Tenshi walked alongside Banken to their numbered gate. "Ok guys, this is it! We're going to pass this exam, easy!" He did a fist pump. Heh, and i'll get to show off my skills to Kiyoshi even more now!

Koukon

 

"Geez, do you have to be so uptight all the time, Itachi?" Koukon asked, looking a bit annoyed. "I've learned my lesson, and I won't screw up here. I'll make sure that all of us get to be Chunin!" He grinned.

 

Inoue

 

"Just sit back and relax, Shikana. I can handle it all!" Inoue boasted, acting as cocky as usual. "You too, Chosan. I'm the only one we'll need here!"

 

Kiyoshi

 

"Right. Just be sure not to be distracted this time, Tenshi. Especially if it involves me." Kiyoshi sighed.

 

Hikari

 

Koukon's going to be in these exams, too... I'd be letting him down if I lost. I've got to make it on to the next round, with him. Hikari stared at the door with a look of determination, ready to dash in the second it opened... Wait... Wh-what if we end up finding them in here, and the other two try to take his scroll? She began to feel slightly nervous.

 

 

Suddenly, all of the gates opened.

 

Koukon

 

"Alright, let's go!" He shouted, running into the door. "Come on, you two! We've got to get a scroll as soon as possible!"

 

Hikari

 

Too late to think of anything like that, I've got to go! She ran into the forest, hoping that Shogo and Ryuichi were close behind her.

 

Inoue

 

"Alright team, let's go!" Inoue shouted, dashing through the newly opened door.

 

Kiyoshi

 

No turning back now... "Let's all go in together." She looked back to her two teammates, going slowly enough for them to catch up to her quickly.

 

Akarui

 

"Alright, let's go!" The boy who had provoked Itachi earlier shouted to his two teammates.

 

"You'd better not slow us down, Akarui." The boy with glasses glared back at his teammate, and ran into the forest with his friend.

 

"Who knows, maybe we'll get lucky and she'll end up dying in here!" The two laughed.

 

Akarui ran to keep up with them, trying to keep her emotions from showing. She stayed slightly behind them, hoping that would keep them from bothering her too much. I hate you two so much... She balled her hands into fists, trying to hold back an urge to attack one of them.

Kinatama

 

"No problem!" Kinatama called back to his best friend and rival, following him in stead.

 

Chosan

 

"Y-yeah! Come on Shikana!" Chosan said, trying and mostly failing to capture his brother's energy at the moment.

 

Ryuichi

 

"YES! It has started! Shogo, Hikari, let us go!" Ryuichi cried, launching himself in the Forest.

 

Shogo

 

"Let's try to keep Ryuichi in check, Lady Hikari," Shogo said to his cousin as Ryuichi was literally three steps ahead of them both.

"No problem!" Kinatama called back to his best friend and rival, following him in stead.

 

Chosan

 

"Y-yeah! Come on Shikana!" Chosan said, trying and mostly failing to capture his brother's energy at the moment.

 

Ryuichi

 

"YES! It has started! Shogo, Hikari, let us go!" Ryuichi cried, launching himself in the Forest.

 

Shogo

 

"Let's try to keep Ryuichi in check, Lady Hikari," Shogo said to his cousin as Ryuichi was literally three steps ahead of them both.

(Jeez you guys jumped on the ball and posted right away. You really mustve been waiting for this. )

 

Itachi

 

"Alright then, let's get this over with." He ran to keep up with his teammates.

 

Banken

 

He looked over to Kiyoshi. "Don't worry, i'll keep Tenshi in check." He started running ahead in past the gate.

 

Tenshi

 

Tenshi started sprinting, trying to catch up to Banken. "Hey wait up man!"

 

Shikana

 

The girl sighed again and started jogging. "Guys, do we really have to start sprinting so soon? This is going to just as tough as i thought, isn't it...."

(Jeez you guys jumped on the ball and posted right away. You really mustve been waiting for this. )

 

Itachi

 

"Alright then, let's get this over with." He ran to keep up with his teammates.

 

Banken

 

He looked over to Kiyoshi. "Don't worry, i'll keep Tenshi in check." He started running ahead in past the gate.

 

Tenshi

 

Tenshi started sprinting, trying to catch up to Banken. "Hey wait up man!"

 

Shikana

 

The girl sighed again and started jogging. "Guys, do we really have to start sprinting so soon? This is going to just as tough as i thought, isn't it...."

Koukon

 

"So, uh... We need a plan, right?" He asked as the team ran. I say that instead of going straight for the center of the forest, we turn in the direction of one of the two teams closest to us. That way, we get the scroll as soon as possible!" He suggested. "We'll ambush them from behind, and clobber them!"

 

Hikari

 

"Right..." Hikari sighed, embarrassed by her teammate's enthusiasm. "So, what's our plan? If we just keep running in like this, we're not going to get anywhere. We need another scroll.

 

Kiyoshi

 

"Got it, Banken." Kiyoshi stayed ahead with Banken, leaving Tenshi behind a bit. "Hurry up, Tenshi! Don't stay too far behind us!"

 

Inoue

 

"Of course we do, Shikana! We've got to win this, and we won't win by just walking!" Inoue shouted back to his teammate, angered by her passive attitude.

Kinatama

 

"Alright, as this team's co-captain, I approve of that idea. First we gotta know which scroll we have. Koukon, you got the scroll on hand right? Which one did we get?" Kinatama said.

 

Chosan

 

As the InoShikaCho moved along, Chosan could feel his lungs start to collapse. "G-guys! Slow down! I can't keep up!" He wheezed, staying in the back of his team. He was having trouble focusing his chakra due to his nervousness and thus his weight was slowing him down.

 

Ryuichi

 

"I believe that we should take everyone head on!" Ryuichi spoke up in response to Hikari's question.

 

Shogo

 

"Don't be foolish, Ryuichi," Shogo stoically snapped. "Remember, we have to find a scroll that is opposite to our own," Shogo then tapped the side of his leg, which held his tool bag and the location where their own scroll was. "We have an Earth Scroll, so we have to get a Heaven Scroll in order to pass this phase."

Tenshi

 

He quickly ran back up and tried to stay at a steady pace by Kiyoshi's side. "Don't worry, there's no way i'll fall behind you Kiyoshi!"

 

Shikana

 

She looked back to see Chosan struggling to breathe. "Uh Inoue, i think Chosan's dying over there. Maybe we should slow down?"

Inoue

 

Inoue looked back at his brother, and felt slightly bad for him. "Okay, okay, fine... We'll slow down." He sighed. "We can't waste any time, though."

 

Hikari

 

"Right. We just need to track down a Heaven scroll and get to the center of the forest." I really hope that Koukon's team didn't get a Heaven scroll... Hikari sighed.

 

Koukon

 

Koukon looked at his scroll. "It's... A Heaven Scroll! We've got to find an Earth Scroll, then!" Koukon answered, still moving. "Anyway, let's go that way!" He pointed in a different direction. "If we go fast enough, we'll intercept another team's path." He changed direction...

 

Eventually, they could see another team in the distance. "Alright, I'll jump on one of them, and threaten the others with that teammate's life." He whispered, and moved on ahead. He quickly pounced on one of the three, pinning them to the ground, and held a kunai to their neck. "Alright, you two! Hand over your Earth Scroll, or I'll kill your... your..." He looked down, terrified to see who it was he was attacking.

 

"Get off of me, big brother!" Kiyoshi pushed her brother off of her, and quickly got back to her feet. "Why would you do something that mean to me, brother..." She looked like she was about to cry.

 

"I-I'm sorry, Kiyoshi! I thought you were someone else!" Koukon quickly apologized.

 

"Whatever you say, big brother..." She sighed. "We don't have an Earth Scroll, anyway."
