Naruto: The Next Will (Roleplay with Firaga Sensei and Spiderfreak1011)

Posted

(I swear, this is my fourth Naruto roleplay... Anyway, here we go!)

The tale of the Fourth Great Ninja War is one of the most well-known in the shinobi world: Ending in a victory for the Allied Shinobi Force, it allowed for mutual respect and peace between the five great nations of the land. After the war, Naruto Uzumaki, a young jinchuriki who greatly influenced the outcome of the war, was elected as Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. Since then, the ninja from the war have settled into a much more peaceful lifestyle. Now, in the next generation of the village, the peace is being threatened by a new group. Can the next generation have the same success as the previous one?

My character:

Name: Koukon Yougan

Age: 13

Appearance: Koukon wears a standard Konoha headband across his forehead. He has medium length black hair, which partially obscures his headband. He commonly wears a red hoodie and blue shorts.

Gender: Male

Personality: Koukon is a bit of a class clown, constantly making jokes and teasing his friends. He's actually very determined to do his best, and will rarely back down from a situation. He's friendly towards those who he gets to know, and can be jokingly sarcastic towards friends at times. He's also got a soft spot for girls...

Bio/Family Heritage: Koukon is the heir to the Yougan clan, a prestigious clan known for its expertise with fire style jutsu. The clan was known to even rival the Uchiha in this field. Koukon was expected to be one of the greatest clan members in years, and went through quite a bit of harsh training to get to this point. However, he never got down about it, and always looked on the bright side: Impressing the ladies with his talent. He was also close friends with the Hokage's daughter growing up, along with being rivals with Kinatama Mottoyoi. He graduated from the academy at the top of the class, despite being a clown most of the time.

Rank: Genin

Chakra Nature(s): Fire/Wind

Justus (For later on): Fire style: Fireball Jutsu

Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu

Sandstorm Jutsu

Wind Style: Great Breakthrough

Name: Yumi Uzumaki

Age: 17

Appearance: Yumi has long red hair, a trademark of the Uzumaki clan. When she's on a mission, or training with her students, she typically wears the standard Leaf shinobi uniform, with the Konoha headband on her forehead. Otherwise, she usually wears an orange t-shirt and blue jeans.

Gender: Female

Personality: Around her students, or when in a mission, Yumi is typically serious, and acts encouraging towards her teammates. She can often be quieter in battles, due to focusing on analyzing her opponents moves. However, when with her friends, she's more laid back and carefree. This sometimes leaks out around her team, although it doesn't bother her too much when this happens.

Bio/Family Heritage: Yumi is a member of the Uzumaki clan, which has become a much smaller clan since the destruction of the Land of Eddies. She was born after her mother, Karin, retired from her position as a shinobi due to guilt for helping rogue ninja. Yumi decided to take on her mother's legacy as a shinobi, and trained hard in order to fill the gap her mother left. She graduated from the Academy at the age of 8, and became a Chunin at the age of 10. She became a Jonin at the young age of 13. She spent the next 4 years as a Jonin, managing to become equal with the likes of shinobi decades older than her. Yumi has an incredible talent for analysis, rivaling even Shikamaru Nara's ability. She is also well-trained in Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, as well as being proficient in Taijutsu. She is often compared to prodigies such as Kakashi Hatake and Itachi Uchiha, and many believe that she has the potential to become the Seventh Hokage.

Rank: Jonin

Chakra Nature(s): Wind/Water

Justus (For later on): Water Style: Great Wave Jutsu (Creates a tidal wave with water chakra)

Wind Style: Air Scythe Jutsu (A powerful gust of wind cuts through an opponent with the same power of a scythe blade at an incredible speed)

(And more)

Koukon

"Right..." Koukon sighed, still unhappy with his performance. He dug his hand into his pocket, and pulled out what looked like a small note. "I didn't put this in here..." He read over it, and smirked. "Change of plan, Kinatama. We've got to get moving. Shogo will be back soon, and we don't want to lose this." He pulled the Heaven Scroll out of his pocket.

Kiyoshi

Kiyoshi was surprised to see that Koukon still had a scroll. "I thought that Hikari took it! How do you still have yours...?" She asked, obviously curious.

Hikari/Koukon

Hikari's clones both silently smiled at Koukon, and disappeared in a puff of smoke.

"I'll explain as we move. We don't have much time, come on!" Koukon called the others, and began to run off into the forest.

Itachi / Banken / Tenshi

Itachi ran after Koukon, along with the others(including Banken and Tenshi). "So, Hikari didn't betray us after all. That kindness might gonna cost her, but i'm not complaining."

Kinatama

"Whoa... nice move, String Bean," Kinatama complimented, letting out a hearty chuckle. "How'd you manage to do that?"

Ryuichi / Shogo

Dude to Shogo's injuries, Ryuichi carried Shogo as they ran through the threes, supporting him as he had his good arm over his neck.

"Hikari, just to be clear, we do have the scroll we were looking for, correct?" Ryuichi asked.

"Y-yes. If we do, we should move towards the end of the forest as quickly as possible," Shogo added, struggling to speak.

Koukon

"Heh, it wasn't me." Koukon grinned as he ran. He pulled the note out of his pocket again. "Hikari had a clone hide in the bushes to make a fake scroll. She pretended to take the real one, but just walked off with the fake one she made. She's the one who we have to thank. If Shogo or Ryuichi took me on, we'd be screwed right now." Good luck, Hikari... Hopefully the others won't take it too badly when they find out.

Hikari

"U-um... y-yes, we do." Hikari stuttered. Crap... I didn't think they'd ask about it this early on. I was planning on playing dumb and acting like Koukon gave me a fake... If they ask to see it now, though, I'm going to be in a lot of trouble...

Kinatama

"Really? She did?" Kinatama asked surprised. He then looked ahead for a few seconds, and then chuckled to himself again. "I guess Hyugamaki doesn't want to become a Chunin. I feel bad for Bushy Brows and Pale Eyes now. I bet if they found out, they would be maaaaad," Kinatama chortled.

Ryuichi / Shogo

"We do? That is great!" Ryuichi said. "Now we can move on with the Exams! I have to admit though, I did not think it would be easy," Ryuichi said, sort of wishing he could have gotten to fight more opponents.

"Succeeding is more important, Ryuichi. Don't be foolish," Shogo said, coughing up a little blood. This made Ryuichi frown.

"Hikari, we must reach the end of the forest soon. We should be able to treat Shogo's injuries when we get there," Ryuichi added, becoming worried for his teammate's health.

Koukon

Koukon glared at Kinatama. "It's not like that at all. She said that she wants to face me in the next round..." He grinned. "And that it wouldn't feel right to steal a scroll from her friends."

Hikari

I-I think that the others have gotten far enough away by now... Shogo's injured, too... It should be safe to bring it up now...

Hikari pulled out the scroll, and began to study it. She unfurled it, and gasped. "U-um... Sh-Shogo...? R-Ryuichi...? The scroll's... well..." She showed it to her teammates, and it had a massive, crudely drawn smiley face ( :P ) with the word "FAKE" written underneath it. "Wh-what do we do now...?"

Kinatama

"Heh. Hate to break to it to you, String Bean, but we don't have "friends" in the Chunin Exams. We just have enemies who are only looking out for themselves. At least, that's the way we gotta treat 'em if we want to get by. Don't you wanna show the rest of the rookies and the teams from the other villages what you're made of?" Kinatama inquired; his tone was a mix of jovial yet serious as well. "Besides, Hyugamaki and the others don't need to help us, and we don't need to help them. We're all strong, aren't we?"

Ryuichi / Shogo

Ryuichi and Shogo both looked at the scroll. Ryuichi's jaw dropped and Shogo's pale eyes went wide.

"Fake?!" Shogo yelled. "Damn it all! Those fools must have done something to our scroll!"

"How dishonorable!" Ryuichi commented.

"Tch... no Ryuichi. It's not dishonorable. We're shinobi: to decieve is part of our way of life... I'm just upset that we have to be made into fools," Shogo growled. He also wanted to say something about Hikari, but he decided not to. It wasn't the time.

"HIkari, how did this happen?" Ryuichi asked.

Koukon

"So you're saying we should just abandon our friends?" Koukon's voice rose in tone as he got angered. "If that were the case, we wouldn't have teamed up with Kiyoshi's team!" He sighed. "I don't care if they're supposed to be our enemies. I'm not going to just abandon my friends, and Hikari doesn't want to abandon us, either! Back when Old Man Naruto was a genin, he helped out Miss Hinata in the Chunin Exams, even though they were on different teams! If you're going to go and screw her over, I don't care! She's my friend though, and I actually care about her...." His voice lowered at the end of the sentence.

Kiyoshi

Wow... I don't think I've ever seen Koukon like this before. Kiyoshi smiled. He's right... We can't just ignore the others. It's because of Koukon, Kinatama, and Hikari that I've gotten this far. It would be wrong to abandon them all now just because they're all on different teams.

Hikari

"I-I don't know..." Hikari was still stuttering, hoping that Shogo wouldn't find out she was lying. "I-I grabbed the scroll in Koukon's pocket... I-It should have been the real one... I didn't think he was smart enough to make a fake scroll in case anyone tried to steal theirs..."

Kinatama

Kinatama felt slightly insulted by Koukon's comments. Actually no, he was really insulted by Koukon's comments.

He was so insulted, his eyes got wide and he started to growl. He then stopped running with the others and jumped towards Koukon, grabbing him by the collar and pinning him to a tree.

"You better watch your mouth, Yougan. My patience is already getting thin with you because of your screw ups!" Kinatama said, shoving his clenched fist full of Koukon's collar further up his neck. "And second off: Naruto didn't do jacksquat for Hinata until AFTER they all got through the first phase of the exams, and because he had already advanced in the exams himself. Get it? I wanna help our friends too... but I ain't gonna be a dumbass and let them get the best of me when we're supposed to be proving our DOMINANCE over them!" Kinatama cried. "It's EAT or be EATEN, damn it! I will NOT let my chance to become Chunin slip away from me, nor my dream of becoming a Hokage. Because even though I want to protect people, I won't do it for people that can't protect THEMSELVES. Nor for people who give up their own pride for something like this! Don't forget that if you fail, we ALL fail. We all lose our chance to rank up, and I'm not having that crap. Bottom line: get your act together, or else the only thing you'll have to fear in this forest is ME!" Kinatama finished, dropping Koukon on his butt.

Ryuichi / Shogo

Ryuichi stayed silent and tried to assess the situation, while Shogo was thinking as well.

Wait a minute... she's acting suspicious... Shogo thought, noticing that his cousin was acting strange due to her stuttering. "Lady Hikari, are you hiding something? You are, aren't you? I know that you and that fool Koukon have feelings for one another, but that doesn't mean you should pull foolish actions like this!" Shogo accused.

Koukon

Koukon glared at Kinatama. "You're right... I probably am an idiot for thinking that I can trust Hikari, even though she's on another team. However... If you abandon your friends for reasons as stupidly simple as that, you're worse than an idiot; you're scum. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be an idiot than be scum." He kicked off of the branch he was on, and sped ahead of Kinatama. "You can threaten me all you want, but it won't change anything. If you don't shut up and continue to act like she's a traitor, I'LL be the one you have to fear."

Hikari

Hikari blushed at Shogo's comment about her and Koukon. "What? I-I don't have feelings for him! He's just an annoying, perverted idiot! He doesn't have any feelings for me, either! Don't say stuff like that!" She took a deep breath, realizing she'd snapped a bit too far. "A-and... I-I'm not hiding anything! He really did give us a fake, I swear!"

Itachi

Itachi chuckled a bit. "Heh, you pushed him too far Kinatama. He may be an idiot, but at least he's still loyal to his friends. I know that in these exams, everyone is our enemy, and you have your dream, but some people just plain don't care, like Koukon. They value friendship more than some stupid title. After all, my father and the hokage both were the strongest ninja of our village by the end of the 4th Shinobi world war, and they were still at Genin rank. Maybe you should just focus on your strength, rather than a title. Especially if it's going to get in the way of your friends." He kicked off his branch and followed after Koukon.

Banken

The Inuzuka looked at Kiyoshi. "Wow....I didn't think your brother could get like that. He must really care for Hikari."

Kinatama

"You don't FREAKING get it, dumbass!" Kinatama yelled at the top of his lungs, now chasing after his teammate. "We're in the Chunin Exams! Other villages are here competing as well, and they don't give a DAMN about our friends! They're looking out for number one! We have to be the SAME or else we're going to be eaten alive! You, me, Hikari, and everybody else!" He then turned to Itachi. "And you! Old Man Hokage and Old Man Red Eyes got freaking lucky! LUCKY! Nobody else in a million YEARS is going to advance the same way they did, at least I'm not going to!" He then directed his attention towards both boys. "Koukon, you already know this, but I don't take hand outs; everything I've earn since before I was a brat in the Academy was because I did it on my own... You and everybody else were pampered by your parents and got everything you wanted... I didn't... so why should I hand my comrades something like this... I want you earn things, String Bean; that's the kind of person who becomes the greatest ninja... get it?" Kinatama said, his rage finally coming to an end.

Shogo

"Don't lie to me!" Shogo said. "You're trying to help each other in the exams, I just know it!" Shogo panted, his injuries once again making it hard for him to speak. "It's one thing that it will hinder both me and Ryuichi, but at a time like this? In the Chunin Exams! Stop being foolish! We are here to become Chunin, not babysit everybody else!"

  • Author

Koukon

"I don't need hand outs either, Kinatama. What you don't get is that cooperation doesn't make you a wimp. There's a reason why Sakura sensei put us on these teams. Old Man Naruto only got to where he is now because of his friends, not because he did everything on his own and ignored everyone who wanted to help him out! You're not being cool by ignoring everyone, you're just being an idiot!" Koukon shouted at his friend. "How about you take it this once instead of whining because someone wanted to be nice to you?"

Kiyoshi

Kiyoshi nodded in agreement. "I've never really seen him like this, either... He's known Hikari ever since they were really young, though. I don't really blame him. They're both really close."

Hikari

Crap... He figured me out. There's no point in lying now... "I-I understand... Sorry, Shogo... Sorry, Ryuichi..." Hikari slowed down a bit, putting more distance between herself and the others as if she was trying to hide. This won't end well... At least we're not turning around for them, though...

Kinatama

"Nice to me?! How the crap is you SCREWING me and Itachi over with your stupid friendship nonsense being nice?! We need TWO SCROLLS to advance and we only have one! You're the one who's screwing up, NOT ME! You better start thinking about US before you think about yourself! WE are your team... NOT Hikari..." Kinatama finished, his voice almost hoarse from yelling.

Shogo / Ryuichi

"Grr... how could-gack-how could you?!" Shogo tried to yell, his pain overriding his speech.

"Hikari... I... I understand," Ryuichi said. "You do not need to apologize."

"Ryuichi, what are you saying?" Shogo asked him teammate, gobsmacked at his reply.

"Please, Shogo, she was only doing it for her friend. It is clear that she and Koukon care very much for one another. That is something that I can get behind. After all, I would do the same for you two or any of my other friends if I had the chance," Ryuichi said honestly, a small smile on his face as his big eyes were filled with warmth.

Itachi

"Kinatama, calm the hell down. We have 3 days. Besides, it's not like we could retrieve the Earth scroll from them anyway, we should be grateful that Hikari did this for us. Besides, Koukon does have a point in not abandoning his friends. I may not neccessarily agree with that, but i understand why he's saying these things. We still have 2 more days to get the scroll, we shouldn't be worrying yet."

Koukon

Koukon sighed, and decided to shut up. I don't care what Kinatama says... I'm not going to abandon my friends, and we'll still all make it to the next round. I've got a promise to keep, anyway. He silently leaped through the trees, hoping that they'd come across an enemy soon. After a while, pain throbbed in his knee, and he cried in pain. He slumped against a tree, and began to breathe harder. Ugh... That fight didn't really all go as well as we'd thought it did. Hikari's attacks are really taking their toll on me.

Hikari

Hikari was expecting both of her teammates to be disappointed, but was relieved that Ryuichi understood her actions. She gave him a shaky smile in return, but was still worried about what Shogo might do to her when he recovers...

Inoue

"Alright team, we need to find a scroll!" Inoue grinned back at his teammates, now that they'd finished their break. "As team leader, I say that I make the decisions for this test. So..." He scanned the trees, looking as though he was trying to make an educated decision, despite really not having a clue as to where they were going to end up. "Let's go that way!" He pointed in a random direction, and took off.

Kinatama

"D-dammit... whatever... I'm not letting him screw this up though. We need a scroll, that's the bottom line," Kinatama conformed. (Koukon slumps) "Ah, damn it, what now?" Kinatama stopped in his place and looked over at his teammate, "What's the matter? Need some help?" Kinatama was quick excuse his anger and intolerance for the sake of his teammate's health.

Shogo

"Grr..." Shogo was too angry to really respond. He then coughed out a little blood that splattered onto the front of his gi top.

Ryuichi

"Oh no! Hikari, we must hurry! Shogo does not have that much time left!" Ryuichi hastily told his teammate.

Chosan

"Wait, brother, come baaaack!" Chosan called, chasing after his brother. Letting Inoue go off on his own was never a good idea.

Kinatama

Shikana

The lazy girl sighed again as she ran after Inoue. "INO, DON'T BE AN IDIOT! I BET YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THAT DIRECTION LEADS!"

Banken / Tenshi

As Koukon's team's situation unfolded, Banken looked over to Tenshi and Kiyoshi. Tenshi was lying down on the tree stump that Banken was standing on, recovering from the beating that he had taken from Shogo and Hikari. "Man, i didn't think i'd take this much of a beating. I hope i can regain use of my Chakra soon." He looked over to Kiyoshi. "Are you holding up ok Kiyoshi?"

  • Author

Koukon

"No... I'm fine." Koukon grunted, and tried to stand. However, he quickly fell over again. Great... After Kinatama points out how useless I've been, I just prove his point. I've got to be able to do something without screwing up.

Hikari

"Wh-where do we take him? It's not like we'll meet any friendly medical ninjas out here in the forest..." Hikari sighed, now more concerned for her cousin's health than how she'd survive the situation.

Kiyoshi

"I've been better... I should be fine, though." Kiyoshi sat against the tree stump, also trying to recover her strength. "I'm more worried about you and the others..." She looked at her brother, feeling bad for him. Hopefully he'll recover soon...

Kinatama

At first, Kinatama was ready to scold Koukon. But seeing his friend in such a state made the expression he had on his face softer and internally, he was starting to write off some the feelings he was feeling at the moment and replace them with more understand ones. "Oi, come on Koukon," he said, picking up his friend by holding his arm around his neck and support him by hugging his waist to his. "Can't slow down now. We got too much on the line right now," he said softly.

Ryuichi

"Do you not have any experience with medical ninjutsu? I would assume because your mother is a member of the Medical Corps," Ryuichi said.

Koukon

"Y-yeah... Thanks." Koukon muttered, grunting as he got up. He still kept quiet, knowing that his partner probably still wasn't too happy with him.

Kiyoshi

Seeing Kinatama help Koukon up, Kiyoshi decided to stand as well. "Come on, Tenshi. We've got to get moving." She reached her arm out to pull her teammate back up.

Hikari

"O-oh, right! I know a little bit... It should be enough to help slow down the bleeding, at least." Hikari held her hand over her cousin's chest, and it began to glow with chakra. I never thought this boring stuff would ever come in handy... She sighed as she continued to heal Shogo.

Koukon

Tenshi / Banken

Tenshi grabbed her hand right away. "Heh, thanks. I'm feeling a bit better now." Banken looked over to Koukon and Kinatama. "So, are you two feeling well enough to keep going or what?"

Kinatama

"Come on, I'll help you move. We can't stop now," Kinatama said, carrying Koukon and continuing to run.

Ryuichi

"Ah yes, this is great! Thank you very much, Hikari," Ryuichi said as he continued to hold Shog, giving Hikari a thumbs up and a smile.

Koukon

"Right... Thanks." Koukon muttered again. Ugh... If we get into another fight, I'm screwed.

Kiyoshi

"No problem." Kiyoshi grinned at Tenshi. "Yeah, Banken. I'm ready to move." She began chasing after Kinatama. "Hey, Kinatama! When we get to a place where we can rest, I can try to help Koukon out. I've got some medical experience." She called out to her friend.

Hikari

Hikari smiled back to Ryuichi. "He should be fine soon. He might not be able to fight for a while, though..."

Inoue

"Hurry up, you slowpokes! You'll never catch up at the rate you're going at!" Inoue shouted back to his teammates, and continued to speed along. As he ran, he couldn't notice a small string in his path. He tripped over it, and a large log began to swing straight towards him. However, thanks to the speed at which he was running, he comically fell to the ground as the log swung an inch over his head. Once it had stopped, he stood back up. "Alright, who did tha-" Due to momentum, the log swung back at a much slower speed, but still enough to knock the genin back on to his face. He got up again, now angered. "Who set up this stupid trap, anyway?"
