Posted February 28, 201411 yr guys i must know... this question just popped up in my head one day and now i cant get it out. What happens to our fingernails when you die? and your body decays. do they just fall off or do they stick to the bone? what happens?
February 28, 201411 yr Author I think they keep growing. Until your body starts to decay really? How?
February 28, 201411 yr Apparently nails need glucose to grow, but when you die your body no longer produces glucose, so they're just there on your corpse the way they were when you died- unless someone did your nails for the funeral

February 28, 201411 yr So if some did your nails for the funeral then there's a chance that your nails can still grow?Lol no, I meant your nails wouldn't be in the condition they were in when you died if someone did them- sorry I didn't clarify

February 28, 201411 yr My roommate is studying mortuary science and she says that hair and nails do not continue to grow when we die. It looks like the nails grow because the cuticle, the skin at the base of the nail, is receding.
February 28, 201411 yr Well , either way , when people die , after some time , their body gets "disintegrated" ,doesn't it ?
