The Hunger Games is seriously a messed up book!

Posted

Okay so after buying Catching Fire on DVD and re reading Mockingjay I'm going to say this that this series is messed up! All the Victors that win the Hunger Games becomes messed up in there own way. Either by drinking themselves to death, using medicine to hide the pain, or have so many disorders. Not only that but they fight at such a young age, that it's not surprising that majority of them end up so messed up or have some sort of disorder.

Now let's talk about Mockingjay the final book in the series. This book really shows how messed up there world really is and I honestly don't want to see the movie or re read the book because of how messed it is.

What is your thoughts on the book?

From what I can gather, the book is SUPPOSED to be a gritty, disturbing, societal commentary. I'm not an expert in the field though, as I've never read any of the books. But even with my limited knowledge, I can tell you one thing. The people who won the Hunger Games were probably shown destroying themselves for a reason. I believe it was all part of the author's intent of portraying a dehumanized world, and the importance of knowing when to hold onto your humanity, and when to let it go for the sake of others.

At least, that's how I see things.

I see where you are coming from, but I wish they didn't portray it so messed up, as much as I love the books I really don't wanna see the new Mockingjay movie because we all know that the best character dies at the end for no REASON!

Like I said, I haven't read all of the books. Yet I do know about that character's death, and I'm sure that there was a reason for it. At the very least, the reason why they died may have been BECAUSE there was no reason for it to happen. That could be the reason.

Or maybe I'm just crazy.

Yeah, if you're looking for a happy story, don't read any of the Hunger Games books. As for that certain characters death...

I'm not sure if you're talking about the death of Prim or Finnick, but I'm guessing you mean Finnick. If so, I definetly hope that they change the movie so that he survives. There's already enough death in the book, anyway. Finnick's not one of my favorite characters in the books, but I hate that they kill him off for what seems like the sole purpose of making the fans feel sad. It doesn't really do anything for the plot at all. Oh well, at least it wasn't Haymitch or Beetee.

actually I was talking about

Prim

they had no reason to kill them off.

But it's still so sad that so many awesome characters in the book get killed off for no reason! I'm actually scared to see the movie and all for the sole purpose that all the awesome characters get killed off.
