Maybe during the single player game, if two friends picked up controllers and pressed start or something they could play as the party members. Then maybe Donald and Goofy wouldn't be so useless.

That's what I always thought would be a good idea. I also think that you can change characters during gameplay. So while fighting, you can change from playing as Sora to Goofy. And this means that there will be more emphasis on developing ALL of your team members' levels and abilities.
