Songbird Rebel 151 Posted April 1, 2014 (edited) Hey guys, This is Songbird Rebel here, dropping by with a little food for your thoughts and a little challenge for your knowledge of all things Kingdom Hearts. For those who don't know what Loveless is, it is a poem/epic recited by Genesis Rhapsodos throughout Crisis Core. And although I haven't played any of the Final Fantasy, especially Final Fantasy VII where the poem is found or heard of, but I do know that (*spoiler alert ahead*) at the end, Zack gave the Buster Sword to Cloud when the former sacrificed himself to protect his best friend. And for those who have already played 385/2 Days, you may have noticed the similar manner that Roxas have retrieved his two signature Keyblades from Xion. Or say the story behind Birth by Sleep and the appearance of Zack in Olympus Coliseum. Anyway, I digress. When I first heard and read Loveless, my mind was blown away as well as have a feeling that it sounds more like a prophecy. So I decided to give you two versions of it (the original one and a modified version created by yours truly) and you see if there is any connection to the Kingdom Hearts series or see if you can interpreted the poem from your knowledge of the Kingdom Hearts series. Without any further ado, I'll give you the original version of Loveless: Prologue When the war of the beasts brings about the world's end The goddess descends from the sky Wings of light and dark spread afar She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting Act I Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess We seek it thus, and take to the sky Ripples form on the water's surface The wandering soul knows no rest Act II There is no hate, only joy For you are beloved by the goddess Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul Pride is lost Wings stripped away, the end is nigh Act III My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that abhors you and I? All that awaits you is a somber morrow No matter where the winds may blow My friend, your desire Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess Even if the morrow is barren of promises, Nothing shall forestall my return. Act IV My friend, the fates are cruel There are no dreams, no honor remains The arrow has left the bow of the goddess My soul, corrupted by vengeance Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey In my own salvation And your eternal slumber Legend shall speak Of sacrifice at world's end The wind sails over the water's surface Quietly, but surely Act V Even if the morrow is barren of promises, Nothing shall forestall my return. To become the dew that quenches the land To spare the sands, the seas, the skies I offer thee this silent sacrifice -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And now for the second version; but before I could go on, I would like to share with you my thought of the original version that have allowed me to change the wording a bit. First off, when I heard the "War of the Beast", I instantly figured that it's the Keyblade War. and the "Wings of Light and Dark" would be the Keyblades. I would continue on, but I would be spoiling the challenge for y'all. So with out any further ado, here is my version of Loveless: Prologue When the Keyblade War bring upon the world's end The Goddess descends from the sky Her wings of twilight spread afar She guides us to light, her gift everlasting Act I Infamous in mystery is the gift of the GoddessWe seek it thus, and take to the skyRipples form on the water's surfaceA seeker's life knows no rest Act II There is no hate, only joy For you are beloved by Her Grace Hero of the light, Healer of all worlds Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul Pride is lost Wings stripped away, the end is nigh Act III My friend, do you fly away now? To a world that condemn you and I? All that awaits in a somber morrow No matter where the winds may blow My friend, your desire Is the bringer of life, the gift of the Goddess Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return Act IV My friend, Destiny is cruel Neither dreams nor honor remains The arrow has left, the bow of the Goddess My soul, corrupted by darkness Hath endured torment, to fulfill the heart's desires In my own salvation And your eternal slumber Legend shall speak Of sacrifice at the world's end The wind sails over the water's surface Silently, yet strong Act V Even if the morrow is barren of promises Nothing shall forestall my return To become the light which bathe the world To spare the land, the sea, the sky I offer thee this secret sacrifice -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So there are the versions of Loveless and please feel free to voice your honest opinion on it. See if you can interpreted the poem from your knowledge of the Kingdom Hearts series. Josuke Higashikata 2,141 Posted October 6, 2014 That was pretty good! I've always liked Loveless, and I like this as well! It feels like it either about a Seeker of Darkness, or Riku. But that may just be me. 1 Songbird Rebel reacted to this
Songbird Rebel 151 Posted October 7, 2014 That was pretty good! I've always liked Loveless, and I like this as well! It feels like it either about a Seeker of Darkness, or Riku. But that may just be me. I can see it, especially if the Seeker of Darkness could be referring to Master Xehanort, himself. As well as Riku.
