SMT 4 and SMT Strange Jounary are conncted?

I was watching a trailer for Shin Megami Tensei 4 and I saw a Democaita suit (cant spell it right) and Im wondering if there

storys are conncted or not.can anyone please confirm this and only this without SPOILING any other thing of SMT4

    Well, Strange Journey technically *is* the 4th SMT game, since the only reason it didn't get a numbered title was because it didn't take place in Japan (plus it really had a different "feel" to it even compared to the old dungeon crawler games). I haven't played enough of SMTIV to see if they were that connected or not, though. SMT games usually aren't, except for the first ones on the NES and SNES.
